This is exactly what I’m looking for in a dash camReviewed in the United States
This unit from Vantrue is exactly what I’m looking for from a dash cam: good video, simple to use, and reliable.

The video is excellent. It’s 1920x1080 and the quality is excellent, even with high contrast shadows or at night. Plus, it has a wide angle lens, so it captures a lot more or the stuff on the sides of the car. I imagine that if I ever need to use the video in an accident, it’s probably going to be because something happened off to the side like someone running a red light or a pedestrian stepping out in front of me.

Installing the cam wasn’t as tough as I thought it would be. I’m really impressed that it comes with a great “quick start guide” that’s well written and easy to follow. There’s also a complete user manual with all the details. The button setup didn’t make sense at first and a seemed a little bit awkward to explore the various setting, but it made a lot more sense in actual use. When driving, the only button that I’d want to hit is to pause recording in an emergency and this is perfectly placed. Also, this button lights up and flashes if there’s a problem. For instance, the device checks the SD card at every startup and if the SD card isn’t working properly, the emergency light flashes. (I discovered this when I tried to put in an older sd card and the device gave me a warning that it was too slow.) The use of the mini USB rather than micro USB seems odd, but it doesn’t really matter because it comes with all the cables, including a very long mini USB cable. I used this to run power all the way around the windshield and down the A pillar to the fuse panel underneath the dash. There was plenty of cable to spare. (There’s also a cable to connect to a cigarette lighter.) On the other end, it uses an ingenious suction cup to attach to the windshield. A piece on the base twists around to apply suction and keeps the unit firmly in place. It also has a handy quick release to take the camera out of the car without having to remove the suction attachment.

Next, it looks like this is going to be a reliable unit. Everything about this cam seems to be well made, even the box that it comes in is elegant. All of the connections look like they are gold plated, on both ends of the cables and on the cam. And, I really like that it uses a capacitor rather than batteries. Batteries roasting in a hot car just seems like a recipe for disaster. Using a capacitor seems much more reliable, even if it adds to the price. Paired with a high endurance SD card, this thing looks bulletproof.

Lastly, this dash cam has some extra features that could be rather useful. It has a “parking monitor” so that will automatically start recording when someone gets near the car -- it even picked up my neighbor’s dog. The cam can record audio but I had to turn that off because supposedly it’s illegal to record audio in California. Also, the cam has a shock detection that will automatically lock the recording in the event of an accident. Thankfully I haven’t had to test this yet, but it’s good to know that the recordings won’t be accidentally overwritten. I feel more secure knowing that I’ve got a high quality, reliable camera that doesn’t require any fussing about.
The best of them all with the most featuresReviewed in the United States
I have bought 4 of these so far, and I keep buying them because they are the best.
v Does an amazing job at capturing high quality video and sound. Night time videos are particularly outstanding – clear and sharp. The Sony lens has a good wide angle coverage providing a good range showing about 50 feet of extra detail.

The included OBD plug is one of this camera’s super features. It’s simple to plug in and supplies the camera with continuous power as well as a motion sensor. Without this, a camera would not work, or would not work for long (on a battery), after the car gets turned off. When you park, the camera will record activity in front (can catch someone messing with your car). It also comes with a cigarette/accessory power cable as well as a Mini USB B cable if you don’t want to use the OBD capability, but I don’t advise that.

This camera is a capacitor camera vs a built in rechargeable battery. Capacitors are not as sensitive to heat or cold as rechargeable batteries. I live in San Antonio, TX, and “she do get hot here”, so the capacitor does its job really well under our heat extremes!

Also am very happy about the 1080P HD Sony sensor and the 2" LCD screen. Higher resolutions gives me better ability to make stuff out in videos, especially which motion. The larger 2" screen just makes viewing things that much easier.

All in all, I would never buy a dashcam other than this one.

Good camera with 24 hours record featuresReviewed in the United States
Build quality: The camera comes with a very nice sealed red box. Inside the box, you have T2 dash cam, mount, regular charger, OBD charger, instruction. The camera itself is black color and very solid build. The OBD charging cable is good quality as well, but not way too stiff.
Installation: It is super easy to mount dash camera to windshield, just assembly suction mount to dash camera, and lock the handle. If you use OBD charger, I highly recommend use some high-quality tape to secure the charging cable around OBD port, just in case the cable falls off on to your feet while you are driving.
Video quality: T2 has very clear picture both at daytime and night. I had a few dash cameras installed on to our cars. For any dash camera comes with Sony sensor + Novatek chipset, it will certainly delivery very clear picture. There is no exception for Ventrue T2, the 1080p video is very crystal clean and clear.

• Vantrue T2 dash camera looks very beautiful and elegant as a gift
• T2 has pretty good video quality both at daytime and night
• Could able to handle very hot temperature during the summer. We just got 109 F last weekend, and T2 works not problem during hot temperature, no mis-focus, no over heating
• Not easy to find out from outside of vehicle. The camera is in black color, very close to car interior color tune. If you look from outside, and not pay too much attention, it is hard to find the T2
• The best feature I like is Microwave sensor, it really helps saving car batter.
Con: Currently, I haven’t found any issue with the dash camera. The only thing that I feel uncomfortable is the button. There are 4 buttons at the bottom of dash camera, and two buttons next to the screen (Emergency recording and OK button). If you want setup the dash camera, you have to press the button at bottom and then rotate dash camera 90 degree to press the OK button to confirm. It is not the end of the world; it is just not that convenient. There is a better place for OK button. Isn’t it?
Great Dashcam! And even better customer service!Reviewed in the United States
This cam is Awesome! It's 1080P and I can read all street signs and plate numbers when viewing recorded video. I like the fact that I can see the whole street in the video and nothing was cut off, all 4 corners of a 4 way stop sign was visible. The device itself is high quality, it does not feel cheap at all. You can tell they put a lot of thought and time when creating this dash cam. Parking Wave is fantastic, any little movement in front of the cam will create an event and save it. So I will recommend customizing the sensitivity to "Far" because you will fill up the SD card fast even though it has overlapping recording. The best part of this cam is that it comes with a OBD Cable in the box for 24 Hour parking mode recording so the cam is always running. Since it is OBD it will not drain your car battery. Vanture really went all out with this T2.
This one is really different. Reliable Comrade on American streets.Reviewed in the United States
I have used two dash cams before both less than $50, and I was never happy with the picture quality as reading number plates of other cars was never possible.
I tried this one because it has a capacitor installed for extreme temperature which here in Illinois gets really intense in Winters as well as Summers.

Some cool features- OBD II connectivity is just too awesome, connect it and forget it.
User Interface is much smoother compared to other products.
Video quality is beyond comparison with the ones I already used since this has a Sony Sensor. The Cam also has a lock feature which locks in some videos when it detects motion and prevents them from being overwritten even if the memory was full. Everything is arranged in proper folders with dates.
There is an instant photo emergency button on the front which clicks photographs in less than 1 second for emergencies.
I used it for over 10 days now and it has been smooth so I decided to make a video because I have already wasted a lot of my money on cheap stuff. If anyone is looking for a reliable dashcam than don't look further as this is the best ic ould find in the market in terms of quality and product durability. The suction cup is pretty strong is not affected by direct sunlight which was a big problem for the dashcams I used before. The box comes with both OBD II connector as well as car lighter socket so it's up to me which one I choose, I chose the OBD II as its electronically controlled. The capacitor thing is helpful as believe me as temperatures reach 98 F the cheaper ones become sluggish.

I expected a product to come with a memory chip inbuilt or bundled at this price. I had to buy a Samsung 32Gb for 12$ so yes not a Con but I was expecting it to come bundled. Never mind
