1. There are two USB ports, one on the camera and the other on the suction cup mount, which one should I use to connect to the car charger?

With the mount connected to the camera successfully, both ports will function.

2. The camera won’t respond at whichever key I press except for the Power button.

Check if the camera is in video recording. If yes, press Confirm button to stop it first.

3. Does the screen turn off automatically?

The default setting for the screen off is 3 mins, you can also adjust this time to 1 Mins or 5 Mins, or turn it OFF.: Menu - System Setup - Auto LCD OFF.

4. How to switch the camera to parking mode?

1) Turn on the parking monitor (Menu - Record Setup – Parking Monitor – Motion Detection/Time Lapse).

2) When you parked your car, press and hold the Emergency key for 3 seconds, you will see the Parking mode icon shown on the right side of the screen – that means the camera has switched into the Parking mode.

5. What’s the different from Motion Detection and Time Lapse?

With motion detection turned on, the camera will auto record video when it detects movement in front of the car, and stop when it detects no movement.

With time lapse on, the camera will take photos at the set time interval and then auto edit them together to a video clip. For example, when you set Time Lapse 1sec, the camera will take one photo every seconds, and then put the photos together to a video. As the camera’s recording speed is 30fps, when you record 8 hours with Time Lapse 1Sec, the final video will be 16 mins (=8*60*60/30/60).

6. When using the parking mode, should I connect the camera to another power supply?

Yes. The camera’s battery is too small to support long time job, you’d better power it by another charger so the camera could keep on. If you have an external battery for cellphone, that’s good.

7. Can I lock the video manually?

Yes. When the camera is recording, you could press the emergency button to lock the current front camera recording video clip.

8. Cannot take pictures or video clips.

Please check the micro SD card and see if it’s locked or has insufficient space.

9. It stops recording half way/ record randomly.

Please format your microSD card to FAT32 format on your computer. Please check whether your TF card supports high-speed transmission (C10).

10. When connecting to TV, there is no image on TV screen.

1. Please use a charger to charge the camera;

2. Please make sure HDMI cable is correctly connected, and the TV is switched to correct mode.

11. Video or pictures are blurry.

Please clean up the lens.

12. Horizontal lines interruption in the image.

This is caused by the light source is wrongly set, please set as 50Hz or 60Hz according to the local power supply frequency.

How to upgrade the Vantrue N2's firmware?

Please follow the Steps below to upgrade your device:

1.     Download the firmware to your PC;

2.     Format you microSD card on the camera, and then connect the camera to the computer through the USB port on the camera. Copy the firmware file (FIRMWARE.bin) to the microSD card, then unplug the camera from the computer and turn it off;

Note: the firmware file (FIRMWARE.bin) could not be recognized by computer, it could just be recognized by the dash cam, so don’t try to open it on PC, just copy it to the card.

3.     Plug the camera to a power charger (not computer), or press the power button;

4.     Then the camera will auto upgrade, and it will take about 30 secs to 1 min, during this time, the camera will not turn on and will not respond to any button or operation;

5.     Once the dash cam upgraded successfully, it will turn on and work.

6.     Please have a check the version of your device now (go to the System Setup menu and turn to the Version) and see if it is VTN28A.V21. If it is, then the camera has been upgraded successfully.

7.     Remove the file from the microSD card when the update has been completed, or the camera will upgrade itself everytime when it detects the firmware file in the card.

Update Note:

1.     Fixed bugs (white/flash screen, stop recording sometimes when loop recording is off, system dead sometimes when turned on) in the previous firmware version.

2.     Add a tip note in parking mode to remind users who want to switch camera mode to exit parking mode first.

Great features - well worth the investment!Reviewed in the United States
There's a lot of crazy drivers out there and you can never be too prepared to try and prove what happened in a situation. In addition, I drive a Tesla and there's cases of random vandalism by people who for some reason don't like the brand. New Teslas come with cameras that operate as a sentry and recording of events captured by the camera and several of the situations I've come across make it obvious that having a camera might help not only me, but other people in case of an accident.

You have to buy an micro SD card, to record the video, before you start using it. Otherwise it doesn't save the images and it's pretty useless. There's lots of options here on Amazon to find one at a good price.

This camera records both what is in front of your car, and also has a rear facing camera to record what is in your car as well as visible through the rear window. That can be also very useful as well as might gather some hilarious video for you to share on social media. (Anyone with kids knows that they say the funniest things when you're in the car and of course you can't be recording with your phone while driving!)

It has night vision which is vital, and it also has a G force detection system so it will make sure to record automatically if it senses an accident happening, even if you're not already recording. You can also use the dash cam as a backup camera feature, though my cars already have that feature so it's not necessary for me.

I'm going to say this is something you'll need to keep looking at the manual, which is frustrating for me as i typically want to just figure it out myself. However things are labeled well and there's a table of contents so I did not need to search much for what I was looking for.

This is something I am glad I got and while I hope to never need it (to prove what happened in a car accident) I will still be hopeful for some valuable footage should it become necessary.
great cameraReviewed in the United States
vanture dash cam, is a great product. the picture quality is great. of course, there is always room for improvement. the portion that needs to be tweak a little is the night vision. on the playback of any video recorded when its dark, is not that great. you can see hardly anything, outside and inside the car cabin. but then, for me, i dont drive much when its dark outside. so it really doesnt pertain to me per say. otherwise the vantrue dashcam, is a neat little product. it mounts easily onto the windshield. follow the installation direction that comes with the package and you will see, placing the dash cam where its suppose to go, will not interfere with you vision and it it records the inside of the car cabin, where all angles are covered. same with the outside. all in all, i am very satisfied with the vantrue dash cam.
Perfect for your dash cam needs!Reviewed in the United States
I love this dash cam because it has two cameras to it! and both cameras produce great crystal clear images!- one faces the inside of the car to record all those drunk people you pick up in uber and the other faces the front to record the roadway. Another good thing about the second camera is that if you place is it in a certain spot you can pick up the rear windshield which is perfect in case you ever get rear ended. There's a lot of settings to this dash cam system which i love so it means more options for saving storage space and changing resolution to make video size smaller etc. I am just still impressed about the quality of the back facing camera I mean I knew the front camera was going to be crystal clear but I was not expecting the same for the back facing one. This camera is perfect for uber in every aspect. Overall would buy this again if something would happen to my current one I have! Best dash cam for any type of car!
Not bad, a really decent camera.Reviewed in the United States
Well... the first thing is the obvious. the cab camera doesn't have night vision, which I already knew that, which is a big Plus on the N 2Pro, but to me personally it's not really a deal-breaker. I would say besides that is still just as good as the N2 Pro, but without night vision in the cab. The motion detection is still perfect, if the whole night vision thing isn't bothering you I highly recommend it.

Everything I was looking forReviewed in the United States
Got this during amazon's lightning sale at a great price, wouldn't have considered something over $100 otherwise, have been very happy with it. I like how it integrates the front and rear camera into one small unit, mounts discreetly at the top of my windshield, easy to hardwire, even has an AV out to connect directly to my Alpine dash unit for live viewing. The parking mode is wonderful, exactly what I need in a town where hit and runs are commonplace. Can't wait to integrate it with a 20,000Mah Xiaomi portable battery, which has low power output modes to run at a trickle while my car's parked, and fast charge once I start driving. Lots of potential to tap into, I haven't even begun yet, very exciting for a technogeek like myself. Up-gradable firmware too!
