High Quality Lens Captured Good DetailsReviewed in the United States
Impressed with their N2 Pro dash cam, I was excited to order this UHD dash cam and the results were amazing until now. Recording starts as soon as the car starts (only when the car charger is inserted into the power socket). The 4K resolution clips were saved in 3 minute intervals and they keep recording until we stop it (loop-recording). Seems like the powerful processor and sony lenses have done some magic in capturing the details. Tried capturing a photo using "ok" button and the clarity was impressive. Night vision was beneficial along with the wide angle feature. Windshield mount was pretty useful with good suction capacity. 3 minute UHD 30fps clip takes around 950 MB memory.

Build quality was decent enough for a $200 camera. Lack of rechargeable battery is one of the major disappointments along with the usage of micro-usb port for charging (in 2019). USB-C should have been the ideal option. In the end, X4 is worth the money.
Increadible Video Quality, Solid build Quality, super Features! I bought a second one a week later!Reviewed in the United States
I have had a previous Vantrue model "N2 Dual Dash Cam - 1080P" for just over two years now and I am impressed with its quality. It has been on my dash for 2 years in conditions that range from 100 degree in the direct sun and well below zero Wiscomsin winters. It has stood the test of time. My best footage so far is a police chase of a outback that escaped going down the safety lane and exiting losing the cops...blew right by me. I offered to turn in the footage to the police but they said they had no report of the incident and didnt need the footage...I think they were embarrased. When I saw a new 4K version I was excited to get my hands on it. I took the video above straight from the camera. Im not sure how well Amazon will reproduce the web version of the foootage but on a computer its breathtaking! If I pause the video you get a 4k still pic that is impressive, not blurry! I will be able to get a plate on a car anytime I want, not jsut in perfect conditions. The mount is super secure and will never loose suction, the quick release connector makes for easy removal if you do that, I leave it mounted 24/7. The cord has ample length to be run around the top of the window and under the dash for a no visible wire install. The menu allows for many custom settings and the memory card is easy to get to without dismounting the camera. I bought a class 10 U1 256GB card to kep the video loop as long as possible. I know U3 is recommended but the U1 works the same. Each 3 minute clip is about 1GB and will import into any video software or viewer. The night vison is bright but with headlights on it was more lit by them. Plates are definatly harder to read when passing a car in the dark.

After a few days of testing my wife saw the footage and demanded I order another one for her car. I have it just for the fun of it but she wants it for footage driving around a neighborhood for her real estate listing videos. She has multiple camera that are thousands of dollars each for listing video/photography and even she was impressed with the quality enough that she deamded I get her one immediatly. I have come to trust Vantrue over the years and will continue to support their whole camera line. I can't wait to see what they come up with next!

Functional 4k dash camReviewed in the United States
Have used this dash cam for a couple of weeks and have been enjoying the piece of mind that I'll have a video record of anything that happens.

The included suction mount is very solid and doesn't let the camera jiggle around. I prefer a clean interior, so I was happy that I could easily mount the camera out of sight behind the mirror and set the screen to automatically turn itself off after a few seconds.

The camera captures legible plate numbers from a moderate distance, even in high-glare lighting or at night through a dirty windshield. Supercapacitor allows the camera to finish saving the recordings when you turn the car off--I haven't had any corrupted files yet, which can be a problem with other cameras.

Only complaint is that the power supply has a bright blue light on it. I had to cover it with a piece of black electrical tape to avoid seeing a distracting light out of the corner of my eye at night, but I am going to invest in a hard-wire kit so the camera can keep recording for a period after the car shuts off.

Is this the case for 4K just in case?Reviewed in the United States
Last time on the Gravity Media Minute, we came to the conclusion that a dash can is a good passenger to have. But now what about 1080P vs 4K? Is this the case for 4K, just in case?

We paired Vantrue’s newer X4 UHD offering against our beloved full-HD, T2 and the results were surprising.

Both feature constant, hands off operation and easy setup. The X4’s screen increases up to 3 inches with better button placement for our use. The style is a bit more action cam looking to the tubular t2’s body.

One accessory not included with the X4 is the OBD in our tests.
Both are great witnesses to have on board with you, but the X4 wins in both resolution and style. We even felt the image was on par with the GoPro Hero 7 Black. A note though, you’ll want to use a max 256 Mini SD card if you plan to record in UltraHD. Our file sizes were about 4 times its HD counter part.

Hopefully you’ll never need to have witness recorded footage while you drive, but if you need to zoom into a license plate later, this just might be 4 times better. Thanks for watching!

Working just fine now that I got correct sd card.Reviewed in the United States
Worked great for about two weeks, then had it happen. The camera stopped recording while driving, and had to push the power button to turn recording back on. Then it happened again, and then again. After about the 3rd time it wouldn't turn back on. I finally noticed my sd card was full, so I formatted it, and then it started working again. Maybe it was my stupidity. I will update if that does the trick. As I'm hoping it was just not working due to a full sd card... works well when everything is recording...

UPDATE: Turns out it was my sd card. I bought the most popular Samsung 256 gb sd card on Amazon, which apparently wasn’t able to record fast enough so it was shutting off. You don’t have to buy Vantrue’s sd card, but I did and it’s worked flawlessly since then.
