Top notch dash cam with 3 cameras!Reviewed in the United States on April 6, 2021
I did a lot of research and I knew I wanted a dash cam that met several criteria. It has to be able to record the front, the interior and the rear of the vehicleVideo quality had to be at least 1080pHad to have Night Vision to be able to record the interior at nightEvent RecordingHad to have Parking Mode capabilityBe under $300The Vantrue N4 checked off all those checkboxes and more.I'm very happy with this dash cam so far.The video quality of all the cameras is great. There are also many options to be able to change the resolution of the cameras which is a big plus that I didn't expect. The videos are recorded on a micro sd card. It doesn't come with one. I bought a 256mb one because I wanted the space to be able to record in parking mode and use the highest resolution for the best quality video. The rear camera was simple to install and it even comes with a tool to hide the wire underneath the car moldings. The rear camera is also adjustable after mounting so you can make any adjustments you need after running the wiring. The Vantrue N4 will detect a collision and since it's always recording, it will protect the recording and will not overwrite the file. You can also manually set a file to be locked.I wanted a dash cam that has a Parked Mode so it will record anything happening to the car while it's empty. The camera came with a 12V charger but in order to utilize the parked mode, you need to purchase a hard wire option. I bought the hard wire option that plugs into my OBD connector under my steering wheel for only $18.99. This made running the wires even easier. The front camera mounts to the windshield with a rotating suction cup to lock into place. I have not had any issue with it coming loose or shaking on uneven pavement. The top of the front camera has large buttons and it's very easy to switch between different modes if you need to but I usually don't have to change a thing. With 3 cameras displayed, you have the option of displaying one of the cameras larger on the display. I tend to keep either the interior or rear camera larger and have the other two flank it on each side. You can set the recording to loop every 1, 3 or 5 minutes and older files will get overwritten once the sd card is full. The Vantrue N4 comes with a quick start guide as well as a detailed instruction manual making it simple for anyone to setup.
