Best Dash Cam Hands Down!Reviewed in the United States on May 20, 2019
Vantrue has done an extraordinary job building quality dash cameras. They have several models out there, but my review is a comparison of the Vantrue N2 Pro (the newer model) and the Vantrue N2.[In the pictures I have attached, the newer model, Vantrue Pro, is pictured either on the right or on the bottom. When pictured alone it is the Pro model. All video stills are from the Vantrue N2 Pro.]I was already thoroughly satisfied with the Vantrue N2. I've had that model for just about 3 years. I desire the night vision feature in the newer model & purchased it. The older model I have to my sister. The quality of the pictures and videos are second to none. It came with detailed English instructions on how to install & operate the camera. I did do a review on the older model if you want to look that up.The Vantrue N2 Pro is different in that it has a night vision mode for the inside camera. This is excellent if you are an Uber driver & would like your cabin filmed quietly & clearly. While both models record sound inside the cabin, it is an added benefit of the Pro to have the night vision mode to be able to see clearly in grayscale what's going on inside. The older model would just show you a black interior with sound unless in some way the cabin is illuminated. Another difference in the 2 cameras is in the newer model they get rid of the audio plug in jack on the side of the camera. I never used this so it didn't bothering me.The only negative that I noticed in the Vantrue N2 Pro is that the night vision mode tends to get stuck on and doesn't transition in the auto mode as it should consistently. This is the reason for my 4 out of 5 stars rating for the night vision. There are a few minor differences in the 2 cameras besides night vision. The N2 Pro records in a max loop of 5 minutes, whereas the N2 can do up to 10 minutes. (Keep in mind the N2 Pro can record up to 20 minutes but with that setting, it will NOT overwrite on the SD card & when full, it stops recording). Another difference is the "non-use power off" feature on the N2 Pro has a max of 3 minutes whereas the N2 has a max of 5 minutes. So if you want the recording to keep going longer after your car has been turned off the N2 will last longer before automatically shutting off.Overall, I feel the night vision mode on the vantrue N2 Pro makes it worth the additional money. I look forward to enjoying the quality workmanship of the Vantrue N2 Pro for many years to come.
