Great image quality and well worth the investmentReviewed in the United States on March 23, 2019
There are a lot of sub $50 dashcams out there, but what you save in dollars you'll lose in quality, especially when you really need it (i.e. accident doumentation). This camera has one of the sharpest videos I've seen so far rivaling even my Sony HD camcorder. Fantastic color range and the ability to zoom in and read a license plate from about 10 car lengths away. Even night recordings are clear and stunning. I will not move my vehicle an inch without this product running.Be sure to add the optional GPS mount. For the slight additional cost it makes this device 10X more valuable when it comes to documentation. Though the free GPS software is pretty bare bone, it's nice having all your information in a single interface. Using the GPS mount and free software you get to view the stream, your speed and your location at the time of the recording displayed on a map in the corner of the playback interface. If you drive, you should have a dash cam. And if you're going to have a dash cam, invest in quality. And this dash cam delivers. I don't bother with the interior cam or the sound recording options, but I have tested them and they are both options that offer the same high quality as the main camera. I also invested in the power installation kit to free up my power port on my console. A bit of a bear to install, but it makes for a nice clean look. I appreciate the g-shock sensor technology, but let's pray I never need to incorporate it! I'm currently using a 128G Samsung EVO card for storage and at the highest quality resolution (front cam only), I can store just under 20 hours of recorded video. Just ordered a 256G EVO and hope to get 50 hrs before the oldest recordings get overwritten. If you're looking for quality, options and a device that will actually assist in the event if an accident, make the investment count. Hopefully I'll never need this evidence, but it's a good feeling that if I do, I have this product available to chronicle the event.Update 06/17/2019 - Been using every day since November '18 and it seems to just get better with age! Have had no issues at all. Quality is still excellent and really enjoy having this thing "ride along" with me every foot I've traveled since it was purchased. Getting hot here in the Phoenix area, but the optional GPS mount I bought makes it very easy to slide in and out, so when I know it will be sitting in the sun for a while I just slide it out of the mount and pop it in my center console. Seven months in and I still give it 5 starts. I've attached a short video from a nice sunny day. Note the GPS info banner embedded at the bottom of the sample.(Had to find a 60 second clip where I actually stayed close to the speed limit! No need to self-incriminate!)
