Single 4k Dash Cam Featuring a Sony Starvis sensor, allows you to achieve the best results of shooting video in different conditions and modes of operation. The Single front dash camera records videos up to a resolution of 4k 28802160P/24FPS;19201080P/60FPS during day and night.	Live Speed Recording Built-in GPS module accessory enables the front and rear GPS dash cam to the location and coordinates of the motor vehicle. The logging of such details can be played back showing the car’s location, exact route, speed(KM/H or MP/H) on Google Maps via Vantrue GPS Player. It’s a solid camera. Good mounting, more than enough cable length. Good picture quality and good low light performance.I borked the install of the rear camera and broke the input. I emailed them fully admitting that I broke the camera, and if they could please allow me to buy just the rear camera. They said no-can-do, but we’ll mail you one for free. I said hell yes and they sent it. That’s how you lock in a customer!

Not a true 4k camera. Wait for a sale and grab one anyway!Reviewed in the United States

The Vantrue OnDash S1 camera is not a 4k camera. The way the instruction booklet explains is 2160p for the front camera and 2160p for the rear camera equals 4k. I bought this when it was on sale for about $125 and that was the only way I can justify the purchase. Camera quality and stats are accurate. However if you want a 4k front facing camera you will spend $200+ for one. i'm enjoying the dashcam so far and looking forward to future products from Vantrue.

Outstanding customer supportReviewed in the United States

No problems with the camera at all, just format the card every three or four months. I had a windshield replacement and lost track of the mounting plate. I eventually tracked it down and cleaned all the sticky stuff off to reuse it but in the mean time, vantrue was ready to send me a replacement free of charge. I told them I found it and prepped it for use but they decided to send me a replacement anyway in case it happened again.

Stops working after 18 months - no solution to fix besides buying new oneReviewed in the United States

This product worked well for the first 12 months. Started exhibiting weird issues around then. Reached out for help which spanned a total of 8 months. Tried numerous fixes. No results. Was advised to buy a new memory card - that did not fix. Was told it is a hardware issue and that my only option is to buy a new one and they would offer me a small discount. I will not be purchasing VanTrue products in the future. I will purchase a brand that stands behind their product. I have 3 other dash cams that have all been in use 5+ years. Seems like this was a poorly engineered product with a short finite life.

Product impression: It does not look cheap. It’s well built and the outside feels like rubberized. I left it in a car through very hot summer and still no issue.

Very good resolution: See the photos. Both interior and exterior resolutions are good. Interior of my car is black leather and the person is wearing dark blue jacket but the camera still shows a good image. I redacted the face but details are pretty good. Vehicle license plate numbers can be read on 1080P (outside)/1080P(inside). The menu also offers a higher resolution but then it does not offer dual camera views.

Easy setup: Good suction cup/holder is very steady and not shaky. Well built, plug and play as the factory setting is already good for most users. Menu and buttons are simple and easy to understand. Good user interface.

Excellent/responsive customer: Customer support by email is very responsive and genuinely interested in resolving a customer’s concerns and issues. It generally takes 1 or 2 days to response but they do get back to you. They also don’t hesitate to offer exchange a defective dash cam under warranty after trouble shootings.

Optional GPS: Quick fix GPS antenna and enables speed of a vehicle stamps on video files.

Suggestion: Use good quality micro SD cards made for frequent write/delete like SanDisk High Endurance Video Monitoring. Check once in a while to make sure the files are not corrupted. Reformat every 1 or 2 weeks. Keep one extra SD card as backup. Throw away and get a new one if SD cards keep corrupted or turns on/off the dash cam. Also, always use OEM cable and charger. Connect USB directly to the dash cam rather than through the holder or GPS antenna if you are having any power issue. Update firmware only if necessary so that you know if the dash cam experiences some issues you can spot the issue.
