I liked the camera but is suddenly turned into two channel. Some how rear camera stopped working.I unplugged everything and plugged it back still rear camera isn’t working. I just have this camera for about 5months and it fails. Can someone help me how to fix this junk.
Stopped working after 6 weeks, would not turn on anymore. The mount powers the camera which stops working and noticed many others having same issue. I like the features of this one but pretty pathetic for it to stop working this soon. As an alternative I would recommend the Rexing brand, I have had no issues with them for past couple of years so I will go with them again!
I have been using this dashcam for about a week and I love it! Definitely an upgrade from my current N2 Pro for the following reasons:1. More User Friendly ButtonsThe buttons are slightly larger and positioned better. My N2 Pro had buttons on the bottom, which were a pain sometimes. This N4 has buttons on the top, which are easier to manipulate2. Wider angle cameraI can literally see sidewalks on both sides of a road with 2 lanes and a median lane in the middle. The N2 Pro was restricted by at least 20 degrees.3. Clearer PictureNoticeably clearer front and rear facing camera in my opinion. Even at night.4. Rear Camera for the Backseat! This is a great addition! As a person that occasionally does rideshare driving, this is a good way to monitor issues in the backseat in the even that I need to file a claim or document non-compliance of a riderMy only issue is that the cord charging cord for the dashcam itself should be just as long as the cord designated for the small rear camera. I had to buy one that was long enough to hide below my steering wheel and around my window. I had to do the same thing for my N2 Pro as I am sure it came with the same charger. Not a major issue since the cord was relatively inexpensive on Amazon.
The power adapter broke on the second day. The costumer support didn't help. I had to replace the entire product to get a new power adapter. Hopefully it's gonna work longer than the first one.
So far the Camera's positives have been great. The concerns / wishes I have are a couple I have seen and at least 1 I have not.I have currently setup just the main camera to test and it has been excellent. My wishes would be1) Wifi or bluetooth for data transfer. It's a pain to disconnect the camera from it's mount as it is very tight. That doesn't mean that you would want to have it get loose over time which would present it's own problems. I would be concerned that removing the sd card over and over could cause issues as well.2) A data dump function that would allow you to connect up a flash drive to the usb C port used for the rear camera to copy data off of the camera.3) Encryption of the data on the camera. I don't like the idea of anyone who gets a hold of the camera being able to view the data. None of the data is protected. This data is private. The device needs some sort of ability to turn on password protection which would be requested at power up!

This is the best dash cam that I have ever used. The 3 cameras high quality video recording is great! First of all you get 3 cameras, all with fantastic video. I hardwired mine using the hardwire kit from Vantrue. The installation was easy. I have had one other dash cam but this is 1000 times better. I'm surprised by all the features, auto night view, auto turn off of LCD screen, parking mode that works no matter which camera detects the motion, Collision Detection, etc.I began searching for a dash cam that has rear facing camera and saw this Vantrue N4 high quality 3 channel dash cam and decided to give it a try. After trying it, I was very very pleased with the video quality and the wide angles that it was able to capture. For the total price it is a really a great deal. After using it, I think that all cars should have a dash camera system. Here are the PROS and CONS of the product.PROSExcellent value for the price.3 Channel Camera System great overall video quality (Day or Night).Camera with 4 IR LEDs facing the vehicle compartment. Perfect for a ride share driver, Uber Lyft, taxi.Parking ModeI ordered the 256GB separately.3 Channel footage saved to 3 separate filesCONSNo Wifi or downloadable APP connection.NO GPS Built In (available separately though). My final opinion is the Vantrue N4 Dash Camera is perfect for those that want a video in the event of an accident for the purpose of protection and coverage.
This new N4 Dashcam is an excellent investment for those seeking that extra protection and will definitely pay off as a positive investment overall. I have installed this new device on my VW Tiguan and has performed exceptionally well displaying the front, interior and rear as clearly as expected. Will be purchasing more from this trusted company that produces outstanding and reliable products. I would therefore highly recommend this product.
Camera seems pretty good so far but has occasional issues with the memory card where you have to reformat it. This certainly will not work with a 256gig card as advertised. Seems ok with 128gig and below. You don’t have to use their brand card and I recommend you don’t because it gets so hot it will bu4n you and cause internal damage to the camera. Just use VLC viewer to watch the videos.
Loved the slim shape and compact packaging from the get-go. The product arrived at my home in a timely manner and when I inboxes it, I couldn't be happier. After installing the product in my car (which took around 30 minutes to an hour), setting up the device after plugging it in took SECONDS. The user manual gives a very nice and easy to understand explanation to all of the features the product provides as well. I HIGHLY recommend this camera to anyone looking for the best dash cam gear in the market.
I purchased this dashcam for my brother's birthday! A month later some dingus keyed his car and EVERYTHING was captured on dashcam. The footage helped us ID the sob. Money well spent! The video quality is quite nice. I really wish the front camera was 4k, not 2k, because higher resolution can make a very big difference in your ability to read details, such a license plate. Nontheless, I knew it was not 4k when I got it. Videos look almost on par with go pro.The inside/cabin camera is quite nice too. I'm quite impressed with the night vision on it.Did not set up the rear camera, yet, so can't provide you with a review on that part. The product is fantastic and I hope to see a 4k version come around. Also, highly recommend that you save yourself the headache and buy the biggest memory card you can find (256gb). I'm glad I did.
A while back I had a garbage truck scratch my bumper. From there on I decided I needed to hardwire a camera. Looked up online and saw that vantrue is a very good product. Was interested in the cabin recording feature so decided to go with the N4. The product has been performing good so far, I purchased the hardwire kit as well and have not had any problems. Only downside to this cam is that it doesn't have wifi capabilities, other then that I highly recommend this product.
I'm impressed with the overall quality, the front and rear camera units are a clean, compact design and they don't feel cheaply made like so many other made-in-China products these days. The UI is easy to understand and use, and once it's set up and installed, "it just works." There are aspects I dislike, but I still liked it enough that I ended up buying a second 3-camera setup for my own vehicle. I've installed these in a 2-door and a 4-door Jeep Wrangler; someone else commented there isn't enough wiring for a 4-door but I had no problems. I have not set it up for standby operation (vehicle not running) because of concerns about their low battery voltage cutoff -- I will wire up my own solution later. I hate the SD card slot, it's very, very difficult to get the card to lock into place, or to eject the card later -- I actually thought the second unit was broken until I tried a paperclip. Vantrue doesn't seem to reply to questions or emails when I inquired about swapping the second device. I don't like that the suction cup mount is the only way to power the device with a third camera installed (Jeep windshields are very short and the mount takes a lot of vertical space). These are relatively minor concerns, however -- this seems to be one of the best options available at the moment.
Bought their N4, SD card, hardwire kit, and gps mount. Camera seems great but haven't really been able to use it because the hardwire kit and gps mount don't work. Power connector on gps mount is loose causing the camera to go on and off and the hardwire kit didn't work at all. So far, company has been fairly responsive but it's a week later and I still haven't been able to use it.
This dashcam was surprisingly smaller than I expected (not a bad thing). Great video and image quality. The only cons I have are: You need to buy the GPS module separately (which isn't expensive) and there is no WiFi or cloud connectivity. The recommended GPS video player does not support Linux (however, VLC Media Player can playback videos and images). Otherwise, I highly recommend this dashcam.
If you really need a 3 channel cam that records the cabin, then this one may be for you. But if you are looking for good quality recordings day and night and the ability to distinguish plate numbers, then stay away from this one. It has very low bit rate and anything in motion is so blurry that you can't even make the difference between sedan and SUV (exaggerating a bit but you get my point).
I can't add much to what's already been said, but can certainly echo the positive vibes from others. Tremendous image quality, fairly easy to set-up although I had some initial difficulty getting the back cam to work but it's all working great now. I had a cam previously that broke from falling off the windshield one too many times and am hopeful this one sticks better. It's amazing to see the progress that's been made in this area of technology. I'm glad my other one broke. If I'm ever in an accident that isn't my fault, I should have an unbelievable amount of evidence. At this point, having only had the cam a week, I cannot recommend it high enough but I'll update later if I encounter trouble. The manual recommends against Sandisk cards but doesn't explain why, and I read that after I already purchased a 128gb U3 Sandisk Extreme card which so far seems to be working just fine. The manual also suggests formatting the card monthly. I would guess most people will forget to do that, including myself. How could it be improved? it would be nice if I could connect to the cam wirelessly to transfer recordings instead of having to connect to a computer. Or even remotely control it with a phone/Ipad app so one could have a bigger view of the cams. You could then use it as an elaborate monitoring system. It might be fun for the passenger to monitor all those cams in real time. But of course that would add to the cost and how often would that be used? Probably not often enough to warrant the additional expense. Still, that would be pretty cool and certainly not technologically infeasible. Nonetheless, as it is currently, this is a solid effort by Vantrue and much appreciated!
I am a seasoned weekend Uber driver with over a years’ experience using the Vantrue N2 Pro. I rely on using a really good quality dash cam and was very happy with my N2 Pro along with the customer service experience’s I have had with Vantrue. I was looking to get another dash cam that had a 3rd camera that I could use for just the back seat area of my car since the front seats block a lot of the rear seat area. A Vantrue customer rep told me that the rear cam was just for the rear window back view, however I ordered the N4 Pro off Amazon to try it out anyways. I installed the main dash cam positioned just under my rearview mirror and the rear cam positioned up high on the interior post separating the front and back windows pointing at the rear seats. The N4s front and in cab video quality is top notch as expected. The bigger LED screen is a nice upgrade. The cam’s menu is user friendly and has all the options you will need. Formatting the SD card was easy and very quick. Doing the firmware upgrade was relatively easy as well. I ordered the optional hardwire kit ($16, I highly recommend it) and was able to uninstall the N2 set up and install the whole N4 set up in an hour. It turns out that the rear camera does not pick up the ambient infrared light from the main dash cam’s LED’s, so I didn’t expect this set up was going to work for me at night. To my surprise it works quite well. I drive Uber mostly at night in an urban city dwelling with lots of city lights. During the day the rear cam view works great. At night it’s too dark, however the city lights kept it illuminated sufficient enough and with the interior light on it is great. The biggest advantage comes from the fact the fact that rear camera videos are always in color and clear, opposed to the night time black and white IR illuminated video, so when I searched thru the night time video clips, I preferred the rear camera views. The only con’s I have to mention are: 1) Depressing the clip to unmount the dash cam is not easy, the N2 was easy. 2) The rear view cameras video cord connects directly to the dash cam, not the mount like the power cable does. I would highly recommend the N4, especially to ride share drivers, for its great quality, functionality and Venture’s customer service has always come through.
When connecting this camera through the micro HDMI port to a TV through a micro HDMI to HDMI cable the camera simply goes into a restarting loop. I have tried three different cables including one which was sent to me directly from Vantrue.I have also tried a replacement camera, but that too had the same problem. I have tried different monitors, all of which work with other devices and the same cables. I am a professional film and video editor and in my professional opinion this is a firmware issue as I can tell a connection is being due to the fact that the camera goes into a recycle loop whenever an HDMI cable is connected. Nothing I have tried with Vantrue tech support has resolved this issue.I am keeping this camera because overall I like the features but Vantrue needs to fix the micro HDMI port problem.Continue to read an in depth review.I recommend this camera especially if like me you want the added security of an inside cabin camera, along with a rear view camera.Pros:Easy to usePrice is lower than comparable higher priced camerasGood packaging with high design qualityGood camera design with small profileGood image quality with low light visibility comparable to much more expensive dash camsThree cameras provide good coverage of your car inside and out.GPS and speed information with purchase of optional GPS mount.Works with high endurance micro SD cards which are easily mounted onto a desktop computer.Records audioParking mode with G sensor and and motion detection.Cabin night visionRelatively easy to mount.Adequate customer support.Free player app for Mac or WindowsCan play videos with many free MP4 player appsLarger screen than the N2Better resolution camera and low light capability than the N2 ProCONS:No soft touch rubberized coating like the one on the N2 ProCamera body is not all matt black like the N2 ProMenu background is a slightly less pleasing interface than the N2 ProTime date speed stamp on video is white and not yellow and harder to see over light backgrounds.Does not take still pictures like the N2 ProMicro HDMI port does not work at all when connecting to the TVFree Player app is a little bit glitchy but still worksGPS mounts and cables from N2 Pro do not fit and you need to buy the new GPS mount for map and speed info.Due to rear facing camera you have two wires coming from the camera instead of just oneCabling the camera wires under your headliner and trim is a big job and should be done with proper trim tools and instruction. No wifi for cloud upload or playback on portable phones and devices.Parking mode does not provide buffer recording. After owning the N2 Pro for about a year and loving that dash cam I upgraded to the N4 in order to add a rear view camera. The N4 works much like the N2 Pro with a straightforward menu system and easy to follow instructions. I purchased the Vantrue 256 micro SD card and the Vantrue GPS mount to add speed info and GPS locations. If you are updating to the N4 you cannot use the GPS mount from the N2 Pro. The connections on the N4 have all been changed so the GPS mount from the N2 Pro is not compatible. They have also updated the connections to USB C and Micro HDMI from mini HDMI. The N4 adds a bigger screen, and 1440 front view resolution, The Sony chip is the same as on higher end cameras like the Blackview. The aperture opens wider than the N2 Pro so this camera is better in lower light. The image quality is very good and the coverage with the three cameras give great coverage while driving. The size of the camera is comparable to the N2 Pro but slightly larger. The N4 does not have the rubberized soft touch coating that I loved on the N2 Pro. There is also a small gray section to the body of the camera around the cabin camera which I wish were all black like the rest of the camera. Because you have to connect the rearview camera there is an extra wire coming from the camera when mounted. It is not as clean looking as the mount for the N2 Pro but not too bad either. The menu system background color is a a displeasing bright orange instead of the red background from the N2 Pro. The N4 does not take still pictures like the N2 Pro does, which is unfortunate, but it has a button to lock clips in memory. If the LCD screen has gone to sleep while driving you need to hit the button twice to lock in a clip, once to wake the LCD screen, and once to lock the clip. The date, time, speed, plate, and GPS stamp is now white instead of yellow. The yellow was better because you could still read it over a light background. The Vantrue player app is a free download from Vantrue and works on both Mac and PC. It's a little clunky and will crash if you have too many clips loaded into it, but it works to show you a map view of your drive and speed info. It also shows you potentiometer info for bumps and impacts, which is helpful if you are shuttling to a point in a video where your car was bumped into. I find the videos all play much more reliably with VLC. So if you only want to watch the videos back and export them you can simply use VLC. The USB C input does not seem to work directly to another mini USB C fast charge battery pack, but that could just be because it is not compatible to the portable battery pack I have. The only issue that I have not been able to troubleshoot with Vantrue is the micro HDMI port. It does not work when connecting to my Sony Bravia TV. When I try to connect to the TV via the micro HDMI cable the camera just cycles on and off. I have tried different cables and different ports. I also ordered a replacement N4 but that one has the same problem. This seems to be a default in the firmware. I have tried upgrading the firmware but that did not fix the HDMI port issue. The HDMI port worked on the N2 Pro but I never used it. It is much easier to simply pull out the micro SD card and plug that into your computer, or plug the camera into your computer through the USB C port. You have to buy a "high endurance” micro SD chip. Vantrue makes a 256GB one now or you can buy the Samsung Pro 128GB micro SD card which comes with a warranty. Stay away from the SAN Disk Micro SD cards. Despite the Micro HDMI port not working properly I will keep this camera because it still does everything I bought it for. Hopefully Vantrue will fix the HDMI issue in a firmware update. Vantrue does get back to me by email and has worked with me to try to fix the issues I have had. The N4 does not have wifi or Bluetooth and does not work with a phone app like the Blackvue but unless you want to be sent updates to your phone when someone tampers with your parked car this is not an issue. My Mazda 3 cigarette lighter stays powered on when the car is turned off so I do not need to hardwire this camera to the car battery. If I am going to be at work for several hours I can connect this camera to a small portable battery pack and it will stay powered all day without draining my car battery. The parking mode has both motion detection and a G sensor. The camera does not have buffering record capabilities like some security cameras which will record buffered video ahead of an impact or motion event. This means you will only get video from the moment the camera was triggered forward. But generally that is enough information to get a license plate or the person who tampered with your car walking away. Running the cables for the rear camera and front power supply is a big job. I bought a $20.00 trim tool kit and watched some you tube videos on how to do it. Since my car is a hatchback it made wiring the rear camera properly more complicated. I recommend getting silicone spray and wiping it on the cable to make it slide better through wiring tubes. It took me two to three hours to get the cables how I wanted them being careful not to damage my head liner or interior trim. The wires are all cleanly hidden and were properly cabled though the hatchback wiring harness. After a week of owning this Dash Cam and despite the issue with the micro HDMI port and some small cosmetic differences from the N2 Pro I still recommend this camera if you want an interior cabin camera with microphone along with a front and rear camera.
Camera got release in January 2k20Did some research and watch videos on YouTube also went to their websiteExcellent product 1st dash cam I ever ownedWould buy again I just got it in September so far so good also bought the hardwire kit
I have been building Surveillance rooms for 25 yrs at over 30 Casinos. thus to say I’ve seen a camera or two would be an understatement! This Camera surprised me on Quality, Video, and most of all smallness to be discreet. The last thing you need is something blocking your vision when driving which in my case does not. The instructions were pretty straight forward and easy to understand. Warranty 18 months is awesome, once registered. 1st vehicle camera( Vantrue N4) of this size I found that has (3) cameras. Also like the higher capacity 256GB. Everything is programmable to your liking : Audio, each Camera, along with the resolution to want to obtain within their limits of course. I also like the quick save button in case you see something to want to save and not have it record over. They say the want feed back to make their cameras better. I will send them my thoughts on the camera once I have used it for a month or two. Nice to know My vehicle is wheel covered by 3 Cameras. Would be Great for Uber and Lift drivers.
I spent a lot of time trying to find the right dashcam and over the years have tried one other on a previous car that kept falling off due to a weak suction cup. Vantrue kept coming up as one of the better companies through various tech websites. There seem to be a lot of different kinds of dashcams and lots of semi-professional blogs that talk about them so it can be hard to weed through. The N4 appears to have solved the heat issue that many people complained about a few generations ago--I used it through the summer with no problem at all. The mount is very good and has stayed perfectly attached. I like that the camera will continuously loop 3 minutes (you can set duration), so the mini sd card doesn't get filled quickly. The camera is so good that i find myself pushing the "save" button just because it's capturing a cool moment, sunset, road scene. As with all dashcams, it's a little wide, which is good for capturing accidents and whatnot. I'm a little confused as to whether it would capture a t-bone, but i guess that's pretty rare anyways. I like the way it looks, I paid for the hardwire, which was costly but feels secure and now I dont' even think about it, i just turn the car on and start to drive and it's recording. The only thing that I would improve is the size--it's fairly big and if you're really using the 3way camera (I don't care much for interior camera), you have to put it in a space that it can see you, but then it's obstructing the window a bit. I've hidden it a little behind the rear view mirror, but it's still pretty visible. Ideally this device would be half the size, either thinner or flatter, so you could truly hide it in the windshield without blocking any view. However for the features and the quality the size makes sense. I am happy with the purchase and have recently needed to get another pad from customer service and they were quick and every easy to deal with and sent me some at no charge.
I rated as a 2 star as the rear camera did not function at all. Also, the wiring provided for the 3rd rear camera was much thicker than for the front camera. As a result, trying to tuck it under anything was impossible. Additionally, it was not quite long enough to to stay connected when opening our rear hatch on our Ford Flex. The front camera had amazing picture quality and great night vision, but we could never text out the 3 way view as the rear camera never displayed any image. We will be returning item and opting for the N2 and a second independent camera for that rear as having exposed wiring running the length of our vehicle is not an option when hauling 3 large dogs daily.
Easiest Dash Cam to install, love the bigger screen than most and the picture in picture. The ability to switch from cabin and front view camera is awesome. Purchased a OBD connector so it stays connected to power always, amazing product.
I wanted to upgrade from Aukey dashcam because the picture quality wasn't that great. Also, it didn't have a cabin cam, which is what I wanted. Found this Vantrue 3 way camera while searching for a dash cam on Amazon.Box came with the front camera and the back camera, and the cable for it. The front camera use a USBC cable, which is a nice touch. I like the the micro sd slot is on the side of the cam, much easier to remove without having to take off the dashcam. The dash cam is well built. It doesn't feel cheap. For the cabin and back camera, it can be adjusted up and down.Picture quality is great, way better than my old dashcam. There's an option to turn off loop recording, which I did. I rather have a big long video than a bunch of 5 minutes video. I noticed the cam starts really quick once my car is turn on.Overall, I'm satisfied with my purchase. Picture quality is better than I expected. I'll update my review if anything happen to it or my opinion change.
Took me over 2 hours to install this (because I took the time to conceal all of the wiring within the panels and rubber liners / gaskets in my car), but it does exactly what it needs to do. I’ve actually found it to be an unexpected video diary of our family road trip adventures. Definitely recommend!
I bought 2 of these cameras to replace my Vantrue N2 pro, they were working fine but decided to upgrade to the latest model. I’m totally impressed with the quality of the videos, adding the rear camera to my car was not that difficult. I had some questions about the camera and contacted customer support, Wendy took care of all my questions and provided excellent service. Before Vantrue had another camera and I was hit in the back and missed not having a rear camera. Happy with my purchase now.Fully recommend this camera to all drivers out there you don’t need to have a Uber or taxi service to get the protection this gives you in case of an accident
The Vanture N4 is the best 3 channel dashcam on the market right now. I am upgrading from theVanture N2 Pro. The Vantrue N2 Pro worked great but did not offer a rear channel dashcam. The Vanture N4 has 3 cameras: Frontal camera, Cabin camera, and the Rear-view camera. This dashcam is worth the upgrade/investment. Great for Lyft and Uber drivers but also great for every driver.Pros:- Great video resolution: up to 2560x1440P on the front camera and up to 1920x1080P 30fps inside the cabin or rear. 2592X1520P on the front camera when used alone.- 2.45-inch display compared to the 1.5-inch on the Vanture N2 Pro- 360° full protection with rotatable cameras- 4 IR LED lights facing the interior cabin (night vision)- Great night vision- 24-hour parking monitor (needs external power or hardwired to the battery)- Up to 256GB External Memory (not included)- Super Capacitor: Great for cold and hot weather. 14°F-158°FCons:- No WiFi Sync- No App connection support- No GPS mount Included (sold separately)Overall:Vantrue has been my go-to company when it comes to dashcams. The Vanture N4 is a great all-around camera. the updated 3 channel camera works amazingly. It is very much work the investment.
The picture quality is great and the three videos just saved me $$$$.Was hit by another driver, due to the pandemic, the police did not come to the scene to write a report (fill out a report online they said, everything is going to be fine they said). I filed a claim and the other driver's insurance company determined I was 100% at fault based on the other driver's statement.I provided the video of the accident and they determined the other driver was at fault and are now covering my damages. The three videos were essential in my case as each video gave additional information on what was happening. I would not have had as strong a case without the front, rear, and interior videos. After this success, everyone in my family wants one. Camera paid for itself and then some. After this experience I will be driving with a dashcam for life. $300 one time is cheap insurance for sure, and I believe this camera will last for years to come.My only complaint is that the Vantrue memory card gets HOT. Like really hot. So far this has not caused any problems, but seems like it could over the long run. Not sure if it is the fault of the memory card or the camera. Also, blue tooth, cloud storage, and an App would be nice features in 2020 - but what are you going to do.Thanks Vantrue! I owe you a beer.
At first, I have no interest to upgrade my existing OnDash N2 Pro, as I am quite happy with it. But finally, as I also need a second dashcam I think, it is a perfect time to give Vantrue OnDash N4 a try. Dashcam setup and wiring installation were quite easy. The buttons’ location on the camera is easily accessible and intuitive. After a few trips, here are my several comments on this dashcam:Pros:1. With its three cameras, it covers almost all areas around the vehicle.2. Wider LCD screen allows the monitoring of all three cameras at the same time.3. Selection for a high and ultra high definition for all three cameras, to fit the SD card capacity.4. Vibrant video color under low light condition.Cons:1. Expensive. But with the current $30 coupon, its price seems more reasonable.2. As for now, I unable to do a video editing using Camtasia as it needs HEVC codec.3. Non universal external GPS module. OnDash N2 Pro GPS module won't work with this dashcam. As for other features, this dashcam has what is needed as all-around protection for your vehicle. I haven't got a chance to use as parking mode, so I don't have any comment on this.
Best Video Dash Cam that I have ever used that has the feature and practical functionality to get the job done.3 Channel high quality video recording is absolute stunning. Please read my real story, which made me decided to buy a high video quality 3 Channel dash cam for recording. This July 4th real incident, My son was badly injured from people playing illegal fire works. Me and my wife caught the person playing with fire works that injured my son, called the police, and the final verdict was, due to I have no video footage, they had to let the person go.Ever since lesson well learned, so I start searching for Dash cam that has multi angle and saw this Vantrue N4 high quality 3 channel dash cam and decided to give it a try. After trying it, I was very very pleased with the video quality and the wide range of angle that it was able to capture. Please don't take my word for it, check out the video and pictures of the actual footage I record, and let you be the judge. For the total price and package that this dash cam has to offer, is really a super great package deal. After using it, I strongly recommend all cars should have such system in every car. You will not regret having it. During my 1st day of usage, I capture someone fell on the street while biking in all 3 camera angle. Here are the PROS and CONS of the product.PROSExcellent Value for the price.Up to 4K Front only, 3 Channel Camera System Great overall Video quality (Day/Night) (Ride share, Uber Lyft, Taxi driver’s dream camera system to have)4 IR LED Lights facing the vehicle occupants.24 Hours Parking ModeSuper Capacitor (Great for Heat and Cold extreme temperature)Upgradeable up to 256GB3 Channel footage saved to 3 separate filesNot the most perfect dash cam, but overall total performance, feature, package, and pricing is hard to beat on the market currently.CONSNo Wifi or downloadable APP, no CloudNO GPS Built In ( Need to buy additional accessories)No 4K 60p on all 3 Channel ( I believe this is a microsd hardware write speed limitation, which no current dash cam can achieve this currently.)After all the PROS and CONS , my final verdict is this Dash Cam is strongly recommend for those that wants full video protection coverage.
I live in Nevada and this camera literally lasted me about a week!If you live here, Arizona, or and hot climate state .Do not waste your time.My vehicle has a very basic alarm system and does not have the extra added security I needed so I bought this camera thinking it would help!It also advertised a 24 hour parking function that allows the camera to come on if someone is near your vehicle which i also though was great!Absolutely NOT the camera would fade out from being in the car and needed additional obd2 plug in just to stay operable when the car was off!Not to mention I had to purchase the highest memory chip !Not worth the money if your looking for additional security/dash camera better off getting a Gopro that can actually take the heat!
Good products thanks im very happy I am very happy with this product I feel very safe in my vehicle it is a great camera I recommend it 100% att Dj Duro
My second purchase. This one is for my car. I love this system. The Vantrue N4 is quality. The installation and setup is simple. The image quality is impressive, day and night. You have options when comes to hardwire kit, but consider the OBD kit. Super clean and easy. Go and purchase the Vantrue SD card as well. It's 10-20 bucks more in the end which isn't much if you communicate with them nicely and receive a 20% discount code for the dashcam. I am a Vantrue fan.
The camera has too many problems. The back camera doesn't show up or even record most of the time. The camera hardly ever records while I'm driving, lot's of the vedio can't be plaid, camera , won't turn off automatically causing the car battery to die.
I bought this to replace a Vantrue N2 that was stolen from my previous vehicle. The recordings are great, detailed and sharp and the ability to play them back in synch including with map display is very nice although the application is a little clunky and is not intuitive. The application, the limit of 256GB storage, and lack of ability to view on phone or computer without directly connecting to camera or pulling the memory card are the reasons I don't give it five stars. I also don't understand why it can't set the date/time off the GPS signal (I have the GPS add-on).I love the rear window camera as it gives me the ability to see how my trailer is behaving with a view that is not possible from the driver's seat. Attachments show 1, 2, and 3 camera views, the app allows you to choose which camera(s) for each view.
When you spend as much time on the road as we do having a dash cam such as the Vantrue N4 Dash Cam is essential. Whether it's to provide evidence in an accident or of unruly passengers or just peace of mind this cam is for you.Unlike most dash cams that only have two channels (front/back or front/passenger) the N4 is a three channel cam (front/back/passenger) that records at resolutions of 1440P+1080P+1080P@30fps Max.What prompted me to buy a dash cam?My wife and I were watching a YouTube video of this poor driver who picked up two young ladies who were obviously inebriated. As they entered his car he noticed that they still had drinks in their hands. He kindly asked that they dispose of the drinks before he gave them a ride. The camera showed that they only pretended to dispose of the drinks. As he drove away he noticed in the rear view mirror that they still had the drinks. He pulled over and asked them to leave his vehicle. They began to get belligerent at which point the driver calls the police. With the police on the phone the girls start to scream saying he's locked the doors and won't let them out. They then begin to scream that he's raping them. All the while the camera footage showed the driver with both hands on the wheel remaining calm and telling both the girls AND the police that all this is being recorded. The girls at that point got out of the car.My wife looked at me and said, "You're getting that camera." It turned out that in was a Vantrue N4.
The N4 is the latest and greatest dash cam Vantrue makes! The hardware has the updated Sony Starvis sensor, awesome LCD display, 2K front, HD inside and rear cam, and was so easy to install! I recommend a 256 GB Samsung EVO Select MicroSd cardI find this combination really useful, because I have complete coverage, should anything happen on either end. The video is crisp and clear and installation was a snap. I will continue to update as I use it, but in the short time I have had it, I highly recommend it. You will not be disappointed. The main reason I got this camera is because I wanted to record the car's surrounding, and catch someone if the car was scratched or hit from the side. Front and rear cameras can't do that. This one, which points to the inside of the cabin, with the wide angle, can view the sides of the car.
No lie, it’s the best dashboard camera I have ever had I bought two for two cars in my household, it’s fast high quality recording of the front, rear and inside of my car, you can record with audio or just mute it, it’s reliable and easy to install, I’m so happy I purchased this one, super recommended!!
I gave this product 4-stars due to the fact that it lacks a phone app/cloud-based feature which would allow for better management of deleting or storing vids. Every time you want to delete vids or if you need to save them, you have to either physically remove the camera from the windshield(which is not easy at all) or you have to bring your laptop to the vehicle to manage the storage space which is 256GB Max(which is kind of a lot of space, which means lots of vids to manually manage/view/delete)!Aside from that, I got EXACTLY what I wanted in a dashcam! Clear footage, multiple viewing angles: CABIN, FRONT & REAR. Night Vision & 24 hour Parking Mode. Can’t beat it really and I did definitely did my research! I would recommend having it hardwired, unless you don’t care about the wires hanging all over the place But overall GREAT product, 9/10!!!
I love the camera quality the 3 channel gives me pace of mind while driving it helped me to prove a couple times to avoid tickets, red light . all I can say is that it is worth every penny and in the end it pays by it self. I love it. My daughter has one on her car as well as my wife.
I have an extended length van and the 20 foot cable would not reach the back window. Customer Service sent me a 9 meter (30 foot) cable for FREE. Excellent customer service!
Very well made and high quality dash cam. Takes very nice clear footage from from, rear, inside and night time is bright and clear. I hardwired this to my 19 Ranger, very easy with the additional hardwire kit. Only thing that’s missing is most cams have an app and cloud, this one doesn’t but the video it takes in my opinion makes up for it. I got it mainly just to have it scope the surrounding area and for the parking mode which is great and with the clear videos it takes that’s all I need. I highly recommend this dash cam if you’re looking for a really nice one.
It was easy to install. The quick guide was so helpful. I haven't experienced it for very long. But I very much like it. Remember if your cigarette lighter does not shut off. When you turn ignition off then go to best buy or a car toys or any other its 60 dollars to get it fixed then dash cam will shut off and turn on with the ignition.
I like how they packaged everything, makes it easy and look professional when I return it. But not today. Today I can tell you all about how great this product isn't. At night, this rearview camera does nothing to focus or filter anything. You can't see license plates if light is shining on your camera and all vehicles will have headlights on, same with front facing camera. (Have not tested exterior rear mounting but I'm sure it won't be any different)This is basically an N2 pro with an extra camera. I honestly cant tell a difference with audio or any of their settings. If there's some reviewer out there who says audio is clearer than N2, most likely because its new and audio quality fades over time. Also, keep in mind time how time and date settings work on a dash cam with super capacitor.Other than that, installing is fairly easy. They include one extra 3m tape incase you do something wrong or heat exposure fails. Sd card is not covered like with N2 pro.Personal thoughts, I think they will make an N4 pro soon with even more channels or better quality. Since wifi is a thing and its not on this one, I'd skip out on it unless you need a new dashcam like I did. I'll update when problems arise.
I am using this camera quite some time already. As a scuba diver and motorcycle rider, I have been using cameras of all sorts, since way before the GoPro era. I also have another dashcam (a cheaper one). I am mostly amazed by the video quality... but for those who never experienced any other dashcam, let me tell you, this system is solid and doesn't need you to re-set everything every now and then... no SD card read errors, no time&date adjustments requirements, no unresponsive screen or buttons... I just mage all the adjustments and connections (incl. permanent hardwire to the car). I am using the manufacturer's 256GB SD card and setup to the highest video resolution. The video quality is impacable. I just yet to find out, how many days of recording fits into the SD card. Because the dashcam protects some video files and those protected files won't be overwritten, thus reducing the SD card capacity. So, it is crucial, that the used formats the SD card, regularly.Installing wasn't difficult for me, as I had sort of previous experience. The hardwire power kit was new for me, but the instructions were so straightforward and the supplied fuse adaptor made it so easy, I made the connection in a few minutes. Now the dashcam is in duty, even when we park the car for the night. This car is used for rideshare and the 3-channel + nightime recoding gives us a peace of mind.Highly recommended.
Over the past several years I have had a few incidents in parking lots and on roadways that brought me into the market for a dash cam. This is the 3rd dash cam I’ve purchased in 5 years. The first one was cheap and useless. The second one was a Vantrue N2 Pro that I’ve had for a couple years and have been happy with it’s performance. Recently, I was contacted by Vantrue and asked to review the N4 Three Channel Dash Cam. In return they offered to compensate my purchase cost.I purchased this dash cam along with the Vantrue hardware kit, the Vantrue GPS receiver module, and the Vantrue 256GB Micro SD Card. I was able to install everything in a couple of hours. I’ve been using it for the past month and am very pleased with it. I’ve seen some of the poor reviews here and I think a lot of the issues posted could be alleviated by properly hardwiring the unit and using a quality Micro SD Card. Also, if the suction cups are not holding then purchase the Vantrue Rearview Mirror Mount for a more secure fix.PROS:Good video quality on all three cameras that capture front, rear, and cabin. Easy to operate LED screen. Easy to set up and install. Great readings when using the GPS receiver. Good quality product and packaged well.CONS:No wifi download. No App. Video is not clear enough to read license plates unless within about 8 feet.Without wifi or app I’m deducting one star for a 4-star rating.Overall, I’m pleased with the N4 and would recommend it.
I decided to get an upgrade and try the Vantrue N4 Dashcam. I am very impressed with the N4 on the price and video quality. The video quality is wonderful no matter day or night you get the best videos compared to other dash cameras. Front Camera is a 4K 1440P resolution, cabinet and rear cameras are a 4k 1080P, all at 30 frames per second, you can purchase the hardwire kit to have it monitor your car 24/7, which I feel is great.
I am an owner of the Vantrue N1, and I've owned other dash cams. Getting the N4 was not something I needed to buy, but I decided to make the upgrade for a road trip. I am so glad I did! I didn't know what I was missing! For being the first 3 channel dashcam, they really delivered! Installation is easy. The camera feels sturdy and seems well built. I feel like they really considered the customer experience and day to day use in the design. The buttons are on top and easy to access. The screen is much larger than other dash cams I've owned and I would never go back. The resolution is so much better! I love having 3 different views. You can easily switch to the rear and the picture is very clear. My wife likes to use it to help her check to make sure no one is near the car before she backs out of the garage.I've had cameras that stop working in high temperatures, but so far in 105-degree weather, sitting inside a car (which is obviously hotter) in a parking lot in direct sunlight, this thing has had no issues at all! Supposedly the capacitor allows up to 158 degrees!! The cables are plenty long even for my full-size SUV - so you can hide them in the trim, which is good.It has an accident detection and g-sensor which help when there's a jolt or shock to the car - it records a video and puts it in a folder called 'Protect' so it is easier to find videos where there might be an accident. However this can be triggered when you go over a pothole, so you may want to adjust the sensitivity in the settings. The normal videos are stored in a folder called 'Video'. If you have hard wired the camera to always have power (requires an additional kit for 20-25 dollars), you can use parking mode which will turn it on if someone backs into your car or dings your door in a parking lot.I bought a 64gb (max 256gb, FYI) micro sd card to put in it and it lasts for quite a while before overwriting any of your videos. The micro sd card is easy to access right on the side, so I just take it out and plug it into a computer and download the videos. I was also pleasantly surprised to see that the recorded audio comes through on each of the 3 video streams. The infrared night mode is quite good, too.My only frustration is that I've had issues getting the suction cup to hold properly in extreme heat. After putting it back a few times and finding it on the floor in my car, I gave both the window and the suction cup a good cleaning with some Windex. Since then, I haven't had any problems. Other than that, I'm very happy and I'm going to replace my other car's dashcam with the N4 as well.

I've only had a few dash cams before, but this one works far better than the others I've had - the quality is great and the added rear camera and camera for the cab is great to have to cover much more detail and information should something happen! Would buy again.
I have owned a Vantrue N2, and I was the most reliable dash cam of the few that I owned. Other cameras would appear to be recording, but when I attempted to retrieve video, I found that the SD card was empty! My Vantrue camera never had that happen.I decided to upgrade to the N4 to get the third camera, and it was definitely worth the money. The construction feels even more solid than the N2, and having a rear channel gives you coverage of all of the areas of your vehicle that you are most likely to want to be able to recall in case of an extreme incident. You don't think you need one until you need it! Think of this as a small price to pay for piece of mind.
best 2k dashcam plus 2 1080p cameras. I've been looking around for quite some time on dashcams and vantrue N4 outshines all the other ones in the market. I enjoyed the ease of installation, and hard wiring the unit to my car was a breeze. I always have parking mode on and motion detection on. This hasn't drained the battery for my car and I have it at the highest setting for sensitivity for the g-sensor. Night vision is included for the interior and is functions very well at night both inside the vehicle and outside
Purchased in May 2020 for my Grand Cherokee. Have been using it in all driving situations, including 3200+ miles on a roadtrip out to Yellowstone. Packaging was solid and instructions were clear. Software set up was easy enough and immediately completed an update before setting up for use. Complete set up did require about a half day to install. Once complete, the N4 worked great and we always use it for all driving situations. Picture quality is fantastic and the mount has remained sturdy for the 4 months to date. I have found with previous dash-cams that the windshield mount hasn't lasted very long and eventually the camera loosens up and a replacement mount needs to be purchased. So far, the Vantrue windshield mount appears to be staying strong. This camera package might not be ideal for anyone who does not commute M-F, but I would recommend it for folks who have a similar driving pattern such as myself.
Finally got around to installing the dashcams and hooked up the wiring to power on all the cameras. I do like the picture quality on all the cameras so far and that they all sync up together. Each camera will have its own file after so that is very convenient. The only issue I have so far is that the rear camera is experiencing what appears to be some noise issue caused by a potentially bad cable? Good image quality with 1080p but once and a while I see some noise or bluish image. Contacted the company about the issue so we'll see how things go on that part which is why I currently have it at 4 stars.
The seller definitely underpromised and over-delivered, because the product was delivered a whole day earlier, and I understand the logistics involved in getting a product delivered so that was no mean feat. Then, this was just so easy to assemble and install, but that was because the instructions were so clear. As for the rear cable, they supplied a cable of ample length, to fit bigger cars - I had to be very creative with it to store most of it out of sight. For me, it was important to have all of the angles of this dashcam, and this product not only delivered that but in HD too. I took the car out for a test run just to check the quality of the video footage, and I was suitably impressed. The next step would be to get the hardwire kit because I really need my port for other devices, but I'm happy with the installation for now.9/14/2021A year into owning this device and I'm still happy with it. A bonus was that the manufacturer sent me a GPS mount on proof of purchase; together with the hardwire kit that I've since installed, it just delivered so much more functionality - the footage also proved useful in a recent case of someone who ran into me, since the GPS unit had details of my speed and location.
I have owned this camera for 2 weeks now and I have to say it is great! The video quality is superb! I owned the N2 Pro and loved that but wanted to upgrade to this model for the rear camera, upgraded Sony sensor, f1.4 aperature, additional megapixels as well as the capacitor instead of a battery. So far this dash cam hasn't let me down. Check out my video from the front and rear cameras. I didn't upload video for the interior camera because I don't use it but tried it out and the video quality is also excellent as well as the night vision. Buy this dash cam you won't be disappointed!
I already had 2 N2 Pros, for my car & my wife's car. Decided to see what the N4 had to offer. As great as the N2 is, this really stepped up the image quality. Rear facing camera is a great addition. Great job Vantrue. Moved my N2 Pro to my daughter's car. With the price of cameras being so affordable, really doesn't make sense not to have one in every car in your household.
Loving it very much. Installed yesterday and yes its a good one. Satisfied with the price and quality. Only recommendation to Vantrue is to add Wi-Fi Feature to N4 so that I can check my car through internet. Also it will be really pleasant to see inclusion of Portable batteries from Vantrue without so that I donot have to go anywhere else. Thank you and hope to see more new things from Vantrue.
This thing is a pain in the butt to use. The cord used to download the videos supplied with the unit does not fit anything on the camera. I cannot find any USB cord that will fit into the HD out slot on the camera. Now this thing beeps every ten seconds or so and there is nothing I can do to stop it unless I unplug the unit from its power source. Once I plug it back in it goes back to the very irritating beep every ten seconds. I took it off the windshield to bring it into the house and hook it up to my computer but the only place I can plug the camera into the computer is the rear view camera port. That does nothing. If you buy this unit then you have to go back and buy a SD card which does not come with the camera. 250.00 dollars NOT well spent.
When I bought my car someone hit on it and it made me feel very disappointed that's why I bought this camera to protect me. The camera is very useful, works really well. The only thing that I am missing an app on my phone to check it all the time. It's a very expensive camera and in my opinion, should have an app. Thank you
OMG best camera I've ever used the audio is super clear even while playing loud music with extra bass voices are still heard. The picture quality is on a whole new level. So clear it's like a 4k TV.
I have had a few cameras in the past including the Vantrue N2. I purchased the Vantrue N4 camera because of the 3rd camera and the larger screen on the camera. I also purchased the hardwire kit so I can set the camera in “park mode”. I also purchased the GPS receiver module so I could get exact information just in case there was an accident or incident that I needed the information for. Ironically the next day when I installed everything I was traveling through a shopping center parking lot and a person in a SUV was pulling out of parking spot and put the vehicle in drive instead of reverse and drove into the front of the store. All of this was caught on the camera, front and back. This camera is super clear, and the night vision camera feature is unsurpassed. The installation of the rear camera was easy. I have a large SUV and I ran the cable down the rear pillars and under the carpet, up through the “A” pillar on the driver side, I also tucked the cables in the headliner so you cannot see any of the wires or cables. The whole installation took just over an hour and looks like a professional install. I love how clean the installation is. If you are looking for a great camera and tons of features this is the one. I recommend getting the hardwire kit and the GPS Module as well. You must download the software program so you can view the video clips, it is easy. Good luck with your new camera, you will love it.
Vantru has the worst design for detaching these damn dashcams and takes up way too much space. In order for me to detach this thing I have to move my rear view mirror and readjust everything upon read attaching the camera. As far as quality the camera is okay although motion detection is only captured in the rear if there's motion in the front. Which is pretty useless if you have activity taking place behind your vehicle or inside. Rear camera quality at night is not good if there's no lighting, there is no infrared on the rear camera.
Plugged this in to the phone wall charger to get configuration started. Instructions were pretty clear. I read through the play with the configuration to match what I wanted . Once done and the card was formatted; I did a quick test and watched the videos to ensure all 3 channels were recording and ensure the quality . You won't be disappointed one bit !Installation was super easy . I also purchased the Vantrue 10ft Type C USB OBD Hardwire Charger addon . This was a bit tricky to install on my 350z. Only thing I haven't done is installed the backup camera since I have a convertible and an existing backup camera. It's something I will add later. The backup camera does work though .Complaints or nice to have- Formatting of SD Card Instructions/Warning: This should be clear and more instructive on the device warning itself. I had to come here on the amazon reviews to find my answers.- detaching from mount is rather difficult , i feel like i am going to break it .- Wifi download to the cloud via phone or to the phone during emergencies is a nice to have .- more support for microSD for 512GBPros - everything - this is a great device to have.
This is my second Vantrue dash cam, the first one is a N2 and it’s been working great for the 2 years that I’ve had it.I bought the N4 as a second dash cam for my 2015 GMC Yukon and from my research It was the only dash cam that I was able to find that came with three channel cameras (rear, front and interior). I also picked up the GPS mount, a hard wire kit and a 256GB SD card.As you can see in the picture the image at night is crystal clear, and the recordings are very high quality. The camera and included parts feel like high quality. Everything is packaged nicely and professional, the product comes with full color manuals that explain completely how the product should be installed and how it functions. You can also find awesome “how to” videos on YouTube.I'm extremely happy with this purchase and would definitely buy it again for another vehicle.
Really great picture quality. Pretty easy to setup, it should take no more than 15minutes to start using. The camera itself appears to be a good build quality, it is plastic but it feels durable. The camera setup is straight forward, not a great deal amount of settings to have to sift thru, just read the instructions provided. The camera does not include a micro sd card so get one, otherwise the camera will not record. Make sure to maintain the camera time stamp, if the sd card is full and the camera resets the time stamp to default for some reason, the loop recording will not function properly, although if you get a 256gb sd card, it may not pose a huge problem unless you drive long hours and distances, or you can simple bypass by formatting the sd card often. Also, make sure to somehow tether the camera to the rearview mirror, just in case the suction mount fails, the camera will not fall to the ground but rather dangle in the air. I noticed the suction mount provided may lose suction under extreme weather changes, just something to be aware of. The camera is rated to handle extreme temperatures but I would suggest storing the camera in the glove compartment when not in use just to extend the life of the unit, after all, the number one enemy of electronics is heat. No sense in risking it when you don't have to.
Product impression: It does not look cheap. It’s well built and the outside feels like rubberized. I left it in a car through very hot summer and still no issue.
Very good resolution: See the photos. Both interior and exterior resolutions are good. Interior of my car is black leather and the person is wearing dark blue jacket but the camera still shows a good image. I redacted the face but details are pretty good. Vehicle license plate numbers can be read on 1080P (outside)/1080P(inside). The menu also offers a higher resolution but then it does not offer dual camera views.
Easy setup: Good suction cup/holder is very steady and not shaky. Well built, plug and play as the factory setting is already good for most users. Menu and buttons are simple and easy to understand. Good user interface.
Excellent/responsive customer: Customer support by email is very responsive and genuinely interested in resolving a customer’s concerns and issues. It generally takes 1 or 2 days to response but they do get back to you. They also don’t hesitate to offer exchange a defective dash cam under warranty after trouble shootings.
Optional GPS: Quick fix GPS antenna and enables speed of a vehicle stamps on video files.
Suggestion: Use good quality micro SD cards made for frequent write/delete like SanDisk High Endurance Video Monitoring. Check once in a while to make sure the files are not corrupted. Reformat every 1 or 2 weeks. Keep one extra SD card as backup. Throw away and get a new one if SD cards keep corrupted or turns on/off the dash cam. Also, always use OEM cable and charger. Connect USB directly to the dash cam rather than through the holder or GPS antenna if you are having any power issue. Update firmware only if necessary so that you know if the dash cam experiences some issues you can spot the issue.
