I don't know if I have a defective unit or not, but I've been using this for about a week now. I fixed the exposure to my liking, but during the day, it seems like the video is too saturated, sometimes I can barely read license plates unless the car is directly in front of me. The rear is good during the day, but when it turns dark and you have lights behind you, license plates are not even readable, you can't see anything during the night. I have no problem with the camera for the cabin, just the saturation problem in the front and the rear during the night. I have also adjusted the rear camera many times because it might be because of the placement, unfortunately, it really is like that at night. Overall, I think this product is a good deal for the price, but I also believe you can buy separate cameras that are much better especially for the rear.
Amazing Dashcam! Tested it out today and the video quality is just flawless! This is well worth every dollar spent. Cant wait to capture some great footage with this amazing dashcam. I love the rear camera it has great quality too.
This camera seems to work flawlessly with one exception, the temperature tolerance is far lower than the N2 Pro. I can’t leave this camera running while my car is parked because it just can’t take the heat. I returned some of these cameras for this reason and kept one of them. I ran the cord for the rear camera through my upholstery. The cord for the rear camera is pretty generous. They don’t show that the rear camera has a cord. Why don’t they? I recommend this camera for general driving, but I cannot recommend this camera for overnight watch duty in hot climates (80 degrees fahrenheit or more). I once left this camera running while I was in a grocery store, came out to find it was shutdown due to the heat. I wasn’t in the store any more than an hour. I didn’t have this problem with the N2 pro. Solve the heat tolerance issue in your next revision.Update: If you break the power cable that comes with it, you may not be able to find a replacement. This is a terrible oversight by Vantrue...
Im glad i invested in this dashcam. It is truly different from other dashcams i have searched, especially providing a three way channel image, video and audio to the owner. The camera quality along with IR is awesome. The interface is so user-friendly. I wish the dashcam was integrated with a mobile application as well as cloud technology so that we could access the files easily rather than use a SD card. But I think Vantrue will soon release that in their upcoming product., I bet Great packaging too!!! Totally worth it!!
I love everything about this camera. Very simple navigations and functions excellent picture quality I'm in the hard drive installed hardwire kit and the music parking mode which is working great no problems with parking mode at all
I'm an Uber and Lyft driver therefore I needed really good quality, dependable camera that produces high quality pictures and videos that give me piece of mind that no matter what, I'm covered with the best proof there is - full high definition video from all sides - front, inside and back. You can't go any better than this. Previously I was using Vantrue N2 pro that records great videos front and inside the cabin but not behind the car. N4 is what I was looking for for a long time and there is no other camera like this on the market. As far as I can tell this camera is the first 3 channel setup on the market.N4 has some upgraded features from N2 pro like nightvision infrared so you see inside the cabin even in complete darkness. It also has 24h parking monitoring mode, variable sensitivity accelerometer g-sensor, motion sensor, collision detection, loop recording and support for 256GB sd cards. Vantrue also replaced camera battery with capacitor making it withstand hot temperatures better that any battery in the market. Its important for proffesional drivers like me who spend a lot of time in their cars.So far I can't really find anything wrong with this camera but I'll update this review if do. Really the only thing is the price that is $259.99 at the time I purchased mine. It is not cheap but how much piece of mind is worth. For me its worth more than $260. I wouldn't get something cheap that my livelihood may depend on. I also had the predecessor of this camera and its been great - but really I missed rear camera and also the battery in n2 pro is gone because of Chicago heat in summer. Capacitor and rear camera is what really sold me on this upgrade. And I love it. There is nothing close to this setup on the market anyway.
Received my Vantrue N4 dash cam 2 days ago got it installed and tested last night. So far it looks like a good camera and good quality. Will update later after I use it some more
The original cable stopped working about a week after I received the cam. I contacted the company and back and forth emails went on for like a week. They said to contact them again if it still doesn’t work, but luckily, the OBD Hardwire came in and that worked. I should request for a new lighter charger cable so I can use the cam in my other car. Also, the suction mount sucks! I cleaned the windshield area properly and suction cup as stated and every time m going to leave for work. I see the dash cam dangling from my windshield. Very annoying! They need a 3M mount for it.
LCD screen was dark black when I getting in car it’s was like 95 f or 100 f I have hot wire cam is always on 24 hours after pull down windows and turn on ac Slowly darkness gonna
Its not possible for the driver to check all the time that whether the camera is recording..An accident happened just in front of me and that particular 30 min around, nothing was recorded. The last frame it recorded was a video with is a scrambled image and camera seems stuck untill i parked the car. This camera has some serious defect. Paying $260 for a camera which is not useful when it matters makes it useless.Update1: I have noticed twice while driving that the camera is ON but not recording anything. I havent touched the Camera since igniting the car. $260 thrown on bin.
The clarity on this camera is outstanding. However I had to purchase an extension from Microsoft to view the video. I have recommended this camera to others. Great camera
I finally took it off my dash to see the videos I'd told it to record. It turns out that it has been considering just about everything an "event" and saving it. When it runs out of space with "events", it deletes the oldest ones to make space for new ones. I had an event that was literally me ordering food at a drive through. Good thing it saved that and deleted all the road rage of other drivers I wanted footage of.Huge waste of money.Update: only stuck to my windshield for a month and fell off. It will no longer stick. I have no way to use this thing.
There are a few of things could be better1. Run out the car’s battery after not driving 2/3 days2. Have to unplug it if you park your car under the sun more than 2 hours, otherwise, the cameras would show black screen at the first 15 minutes, then recovered slowly.
Edited: Had an incident where I needed to have the license plate number of a car 3 feet in front of me at a red light during the day. When I looked at the video the numbers were not legible enough to report the person. Front video was set at 1440P. Night video has halos around lights and the glare from lights on license plates makes them difficult to see. The video also pulses like the camera is being moved up and down. Not sure if it's the software or the video card which is the one recommended by the camera manufacturer (Vantrue Card). I expected better video quality from a camera this expensive. Waste of money.
I have had a Vantrue T1 for a couple of years and it's been great. But now I want a camera that records front and rear and I decided on a N4. So far I am very happy with it! It is very easy to use and set up. The videos are very clear, just what I was looking for. Running the wire for the rear camera is a little bit time-consuming if you want it to look good. I really had no problem.
I bought this camera for 2 reasons. Reason one is for when I am driving for Uber I wanted a dash cam that can record the inside of the car and also outside front and back. Second reason is to record if someone hits my car or tries to vandalize my car. The description makes it seem like all 3 cameras can record at night which partly true. As you can see from my video only the cabin camera has night vision. The other 2 cameras do not have night vision so if it’s pitch black with no lights and your car is turned off the front and rear camera will not be clear enough to help you out.The parking mode does not work. I bought a brand new battery yet still my cars battery would be dead when i try to start the car in the morning. When i unplug the camera my car’s battery would be fine. I tried that for a week unplugging the camera before parking the car overnight and it was fine in the morning.
Camera is perfect for other people saying gps mount dont stick to windshield yes it does 1st make sure your windshield is clean then put it up there left is unlocked straight up is locked stop posting the wrong other people go by these reviews!!! Camera is pefect!!
#1 the camera gets REALLY hot under normal operating conditions. Just had to get that out of the way.Anyway, its not a "bad" camera, but there certainly are quality issues. My first one came with a defective rear camera, I could see it on the screen with some pink screen flickering issue. Had to send it back and got a replacement...The replacement is also defective? See the attached screenshots. My front facing camera gives me whole-screen artifacts every few seconds. This is happening on ALL my recordings. I dont think its a heat issue because it happens early in the day when temps are cool also at night. As far as the quality of the video...meh. Dont expect to be able to get license plate numbers off cars driving by next to you. The ONLY time you will be able to spot license plates clearly is if you pull up right behind a car and both come to a full stop at a stop light or something. Otherwise, not going to happen. Doubt there are any dash cams that actually can do this, although every dash cam marketing will fool you into thinking you'll be able to get clear license plates off every car you record. But yea, not happy with TWO defective N4's. Regretting my purchase, and my return window is now closed and have to deal with Vantrue support - lets see if they respond and are able to fix/replace this unit or refund me.Overall too much $$$$ for this camera, not great video quality, and bad quality control, but then again thats just MY experience. Maybe I'm unlucky...
Upgraded to this camera from N2 pro but the camrera restores to factory settings after every 2 days. I ended up returning the product. Not worth to have 300$ unreliable camera. The picture quality for inside is also not great, you get blurred videos with faded marks
I like everything about this dash cam. First the packaging looked like a gift box. Nice first impression. There was ease in installation. It comes with an easy to read instruction book. The audio is very clear and the picture is crystal clear. There's also a bonus of a rear camera which is also crystal clear. Everything worked as it should from the start. I would highly recommend this camera if you're serious about quality. More than satisfied and I would purchase this again.
I curently have the Ventrue N2 Pro Dash Cam about more than 2 years now and I just purchase the new Vantrue N4 Dash Cam.The Vantrue N2 Pro don't have rear camera so I decided to upgrade and try the Vantrue N4 Dashcam. I am very impressed with the Vantrue N4 video quality and has a capacitor battery.I purchased the Vantrue Type C USB hardwire kit to utilize the parking mode feature on this dash cam.Much bigger LCD display with very informative display on the screen and blows away my old Vantrue N2 LCD.Infrared Night Vision Car CameraMotion Detection auto record when people or objects comes in front of your carWith high-performance Sony STARVIS CMOS sensorThe Vantrue N4 dash cam has super capacitor powered instead of lithium batteries, my Vantrue N2 doesn't hold a charge anymore due to lithium battery failure so this is a perfect upgrade. The rear camera was fairly easy to install, you have tuck in the wire under the weather stripping, I used a plastic pry tools instead of a flat head screw driver to prevent damaging the wire.I will have to purchase the "Rear view mount" the suction cup doesn't really work for me and a 256GB micro SD card since this has 3 cameraPlus Technical Support is top notch, they followed through until my issue was resolved, so they really stand behind their product.
I've been loving this camera so far, even down to the setup.I like how the wire extends from the base of the suction cup instead of connecting directly to the side of the camera.I've had other dash cams where even if you do the wiring from the top of the car through to along the sides and are able to hide the wire from there, a portion of it would still stick out from the side of the camera where you connect it, partially obscuring your view or even showing up on the camera. This has the added benefit of not accidentally disconnecting the cable when you twist the camera around. The rest of the setup was quick and painless although for the rear camera you do have to run a long length of wire to connect it to the front main camera. The provided length of wiring was an ample amount even for my SUV. I also like how the memory card can be inserted directly into the side without having to remove any flaps or covers. Other dash cams I've had required a lot of fidgeting to open up the memory card slot and this sometimes yanked the camera right off the windshield. My car comes with built-in front, side, and rear view cameras, but the visual quality pales in comparison to the N4, plus this one comes with good audio quality (there is no sound for my built-in cameras and their night vision is poor). The night vision for the external facing and cabin facing cameras is great and can capture just about everything you could in the day, albeit needing to be a little closer.
I've had the predecessor, N2, for the past 3 years and have come to appreciate the smaller LCD screen because it delivers all the menu functionality without distracting my driving. The N2 lasted me 3 years in the Texas heat and I wasn't about to give it up except now the N4 has a 3rd channel (rear view). It's only been a couple of weeks, but I can feel that the build quality is just as good. The finish feels premium and the button clicks are confident. The LCD is bigger than the N2, but it's not a distraction. This guy should last me 3 years too.I don't care so much that GPS is not built in - get yourself a VYNCS OBD device here on Amazon (another good buy). What I really wished was a wireless solution for downloading videos. Maybe the N6 in year 2023 will have it LOLThat being said, the menu options and video quality have been top notch as I have come to expect from Vantrue. Highly recommended.
I installed in less than 20 minutes from start to finish. Up and running. I recommend the gps option. It adds the ability to track speed and location. A big help if you are stopped and you were not speeding or if you did not run a light or stop sign. The cam is always watching my vehicle with the motion detection..
N4 is a good investment. High resolution in the front camera(1440) and 1080 in back and interior cameras and 160 degree view. Easy to setup with the large view screen.
This is my first dash cam but I have been considering the purchase for over a year. Glad I waited and decided on this brand and version. Camera quality is excellent, both day and night. Form factor is acceptable but could be improved with to avoid protrusion beyond suction cup. This is not a deal breaker as I was able to borrow a friends unit with the gps and it worked great. Just be sure to leave room between your headliner and suction cup to allow locking the unit in place. Loop feature allows for hours of recording. Playback on video player can be nuanced so suggest exercise patience or watch the video in a different mp4 player. You will lose the meta data if you chose to do the latter. Good product over all.
This little dash cam is awesome. It has 3 camera views, in front, in the cab, and out the back window. Came with everything you need but has a hardwire and GPS module that that can add location and speed to your video. The latest firmware increased the resolution to 2160P at 30 FPS.
Wow! Let me start with talking about the price because to be honest that's what stopped me from getting this dash cam sooner but i'm so happy i did! With a few simple words, Its worth it! For me personally I wasn't looking to spend much money on a dash cam but i decided to get this one because i couldn't find anything else like it on the market. For something that shoots 3 ways of video and has this quality and night vision inside the cabin i am super impressed! The dash cam is very light and was super easy to setup. Price of what you can afford goes by each person and how much you're willing to spend but i would definitely recommend saving a little extra to get this dash cam over the others. This will save you so much more money for any accidents/hit and runs and with 3 cameras you wont have to worry about if your camera caught anything. With the wide angle lenses inside the camera it captures everything i need. I seriously would recommend this to anyone looking to get a dash cam and with the features of this one its worth every penny! I highly recommend using this N4 camera. Go ahead and purchase this camera and you will not be disappointed.
I absolutely love this camera! Great quality, price is definitely worth it. I just have to get used to the buttons being on top instead of at the bottom like the N2, but other than that it's a great dash cam. Also I wish there was a tape mount available for purchase because I'm not a fan of suction cups, it has fallen on me while driving, so please make a tape mount! Thanks!
This camera with the parking feature will be useless anywhere the temp is over 90°. Came out to my car on a few hot days to see the camera wouldnt even turn on. Ran the ac for a little to wait for the camera too cool and it turned on fine... it took a while for the screen to go back to normal. Hopefully it lasts. Overall everything about the camera is good. Just don't bother hardwiring it if you live somewhere hotter than pennsylvania.
Seems to be okay so far. However, it does suck that you pay so much money for a camera with no wifi capability. So you have to take it off of the mount and download any video you want to keep (which it is hard to get off the mount/taking the mount down is annoying because getting it to stay up was not easy for me. I cannot stand windshield mounts, as my phone is on a vent mount). You could pop the sd card itself out, but the thing is so small that doing so while it is on the windshield is not per say easy either. As well as the rear camera does not adjust at all! The glass on my rear hatch is slanted upwards, so you can only see the upper half of someone walking by. Which makes me believe that you would not be able to see any car that rear ends me in the rear video, unless it is a huge truck. As my title states, it could be better, but I already spent the time hooking this one up and hiding chords...so I will try it out. ️
I think my reviews are most useful to others if I focus on aspects of the product that other reviews generally have not. This is my first Vantrue product purchase and, to my surprise, I only came up with one comment nobody else made…Many Vantrue customers are very sophisticated about dash cams and detailed/thorough with their reviews! I think this alone says a lot about the product and it's my most important observation: the people who buy this dash cam aren’t making a random choice; they’ve owned previous dash cams and do careful research. So, I’m left to summarize my own reactions along with the important things that others also mention together. The obvious good features· Adds a rear camera to the more typical dual-camera configuration;· High quality lenses with relatively wide aperture for good images even in low-light conditions;· Sony StarVis CMOS sensors with good low-light sensitivity;· Nice big LCD display;· Can handle up to a 256 GB microSD memory card;· Accessories available to supply power to cameras even when car is off;· Capacitor-based power storage keeps unit from losing programming even in temperature extremes when a battery might not. Some less-obvious good features· Cabin camera is quite wide angle and catches pretty good views through the side windows;· Both rear and cabin cameras are angle-adjustable;· Power via the mount so that you don’t have to unplug the cable if you dismount the camera;· USB-C charging connections… much sturdier than the microUSB connections many use.My wish list· Internal GPS (apparently you can add an accessory, but this seems missing);· Wireless communication between the cameras (WiFi or, preferably, Bluetooth). Yes, with a little effort, one can hide the cable… but what if you want to move this from one vehicle to another?· Wireless communication (again, WiFi or Bluetooth) with cell phone or computer;· Longer recording mode for motion-sensor triggered event.Bottom line: Many others seem to consider the price-point of this model very good, but as a relative newbie to the dash cam market, it feels a little expensive given the lack of GPS and any wireless communication. At $260: four stars; at a slightly lower price, I’d probably have given five stars.
It glitches and doesn’t record at most of the time. The first few month it have me minimal issue past 6 months crap.Unreliable.FRONT Mount doesnt stay on. Might have to find a way to glue it down to the windshield.EDIT: SCREEN TURNS BLACK IN 100 DEGREE WEATHER.Almost 2 years: This camera just gets worst, now so far it only records not even 5% of when I’m driving.
This is my second Vantrue dash cam purchase. I purchased the N2Pro and have been satisfied with its quality and performance. This camera has an excellent field of view on all three channels. This is the only true 3 channel consumer dashcam with this high quality in the market as of August 2020. It has a high quality feel to the build and I expect it to last as long as my N2Pro.
Beautiful camera and definitely worth every penny. I was of course skeptical at first due to the high price, but after installing it (which took about an hour) the end result was definitely satisfying. Definitely exceeded my experiences and even on the computer, it was vivid in picture. I've been telling people about it ever since I got it. Definitely 10/10. It monitors speeds and location based on coordinates. There isn't an app to watch the video on your phone unfortunately which didn't bother me and it did not include a micro SD card so be sure to keep that in mind when your buying. The hardwire kit is sold separately along with the mount but Amazon conveniencely groups them all together when you select the dash cam. Lastly, I believe the speed is off by two or three.
This camera stops working very frequently. I bought 6 of them, and they all failed at some point. They stopped recording, the rear camera disappeared often, and customer support is NOT available. During summer time, the screen went black every time my vehicles were parked in the sun. I would NOT recommend this product at all.
It is a great dash cam for starters. I love the fact that it comes with not only the front camera but it includes the rear and also the cabin of the vehicle. The picture quality is amazing. I did struggle with tucking and hiding the wires but overall this is a great set up and I highly recommend it especially for brand new drivers.
Vantrue dashcams are the way to go. I have installed Vantrue products in all my vehicles. I even carry one to work and mount it to my patrol vehicle at the start of my shift. They are simple to use and offers great value and quality for the cost of each unit.
This Camera is fantastic. First the Camera feels extremely well built. You can really feel the build quality in your hands. It has some great features my favorite 2 being night vision and the fact that it has an extra camera for your back window. Being in the transportation industry this makes me feel incredibly safe. This camera comes ready for a 256 GB SD card. The other feature that I really like is the fact that there is now a rear window facing camera and that in the event of somebody hitting you in the rear of the car the camera will catch everything. This is a three band camera meaning it catches footage from inside of the cabin of the car in front of the car and in the rear of the car this gives you almost 360° protection from everything around you for the money this is a fantastic camera. You can tell that a lot of thought went into the build of this camera it’s quality is outstanding. If you drive in the city if you live in an urban area if you park your car on the street I would urge you to buy this camera this will save you so many headaches when it comes to accidents or if your car ever gets hit while it’s parked.
Bought it and Vantrue's 256Gb card as well for two cars... Set recording for rotation. Now - it's always there, and If I need anything - as long as I get it within a week - just pull SD card, stick into computer, and get the files for date/time. No need in service (consider that form of extortion).Another great feature - sits in standby, and turns on from motion - so if someone passed by at night - you've got it. So - if you come back to parked car, and its keyed, or dented - you can see who did it... Also - it detects an "event" (sensors detect a hit), and it won't get rotated out - you'd have to manually delete it. And of course - 3 cameras! Can see everything around and inside, plus sound! I find it the best at the moment. GPS and hardwired kits are a must.
Ok..so I have been a customer of vantrue since vantrue N1...i bought n2..n2 pro..nd now updated to n4...the camera is good...all three camera works fine except when I parked in sunlight, the display goes black...i cant see anything on the screen...when i come back to car..turn the AC on, it slowly gets to start grainy(dotted) and eventually gets very clear again...even the company says that the it can handle the temperature to 148 f....i live in a place where the maximum temp is 90 f...still it is unable to handle the temperature. If I cover my windshield when parked then the camera will lose its purpose...as i want to record when i am away....very expensive cam....the company should do something about it......still love vantrue....please come up with the solution...
The Vantrue N4 is a great product. It performs as expected. The only 2 things I wish it had was a 10 second video record buffer for when a collision or motion was detected and theft protection. Otherwise this is an excellent product!
So, as of writing this review (08/04/2020) , I couldn't be more impressed with the cam. I ordered all of my gear (hard wire kit, GPS mount & SD Card) at the same time I ordered my cam and I had it all installed and hooked up within an hour. The cams working as good as the N2 Pro and even better with the 3rd cam addition. I did not get the vantrue SD card and got the high endurance card from Samsung instead, which has so far worked out perfect. It has been running normally and parking mode has worked good for a few weeks now with no issues. I have seen other people complaining about parking mode and several recording issues, but so far my parking mode and recording has all been flawless. I did notice my cams temp. go up a bit when it was hardwired in, but I don't think its uncommon as its running 24/7 and so far its gave me no issues.. {I will Update As I Go & will date the updates}Pros:Cam comes with 3 Cameras (FINALLY!!!)Cam records flawlessly in all 3 camerasCam parking mode kicks on and records great with motion (unsure on collision) as intended. *Using Hardwire KitCam kicks off as intended to limit battery depletion *Using Hardwire KitCam FPS & R&W speeds work as described. [I do think the pixels are a bit off than advertised though - i.e. 1080 is really 720] But the picture is great regardlessCam Night Vision IR for the cabin works as good as expected. The cabin is well seen at nightCons:Cam Requires an update prior to using. *Cam will still work, but it might bug out from time to time if not updatedCam Requires several things to watch the videos and to have GPS shown. (More of a preference, but I wish they would incorporate it into the raw footage vs. being required to use the desktop installer)Cam has no battery source (or doesn't appear to work on mine anyway) for when it is not connected via hardwire or via lighter port. Mine cuts off just as soon as I unplug the cord, which is as described. (Again, more of a preference, but a small capacitor or built in heat resistant battery would be a great addition, even if the cams size would be a bit larger)Overall:TOTALLY WORTH THE BUY!!!!! I have been an on-off Vantrue user, with the N2 being my last cam.. I am actually shocked they finally kicked out a 3 channel/cam system this late into the game! I've been waiting on a 3 channel vantrue for a while 3-4+ years. I'm hoping they do a full 360* 5 channel/cam (Front, Rear, Driver & Passenger, & Cabin) setup one day soon..If your in the cam market and need the essentials with extra spunk, I don't think you'll be disappointed in this or have an issue with using all features on this cam, giving you get the GPS mount and the hard wire kit all together. Its costly, yes, but well worth it in regards to quality and performance. I would recommend this setup to anyone on the road.**I will update as time goes & will date the updates..
The Vantrue N4 3 channel Dash cam is feature rich and provides FULL coverage of your vehicle from every angle in day and night thanks two an internal IR camera.I’ve really enjoyed the peace of mind knowing I’m fully covered in an accident or if I’m ride sharing and need a full view of who is in my vehicle. This camera will pay for itself the second you get into a situation where it’s your word versus another’s.The front facing camera performs extremely well in day and night and is wide enough to capture all the action. The interior camera is wide but not distorted, just enough for your cabin. The rear camera is a fantastic upgrade to a typical dash cam. The rear camera captures license plates and can be rotated up or down depending on your application. My rear window is tinted and it still was able to capture superior images in day and night. An easy access microSD card is very convenient. As is all the extra long wiring that comes in the kit to make sure you have power and a nice long cable to the rear camera.Audio is picked up and recorded on ALL channels. This is a huge plus and makes file access fantastic not having to find which one has the sound from the vehicle you need. For the price, you are getting great tech and huge peace of mind. I won’t drive without this.Lastly, the large screen makes it easy to configure on initial setup to make sure your happy with your settings. A very very dim blue light will blink letting you know everything is operating as it should. Well done Vantrue, I’m impressed !
Vantrue N4 Dashcam is a serious upgrade from its predecessor N2 pro. Its almost the same size, however you get 3 cameras, with great quality and the camera is capable to accept 256GB of memory storage right off the bat. The installation was super easy, it took me about 15minutes, mostly because I planned how I was going to install it beforehand. You are simply running 2 cables, one for power and one for the rare view camera, Super easy. The quality of the footage exceeded my expectation both during day and night. If Vantrue adds a wireless communication module to download the footage, then this would be the best Dashcam in the world. As is I will give it 5 stars for sure. Definitely recommend it to my friends to buy.
great camera, picture quality is great, night vision clarity is amazing, the rear camera wire was a little tricky; but with a little know how and some ingenuity the wire was easily concealed without tools or tape. The cameras can see a very wide berth almost right next to the car. My only complaint is there is no internal battery to catch if someone hit you while you're parked in the grocery store (or something to that effect.) If you're looking to start driving for a ride-share service, taxi, or just want the peace of mind knowing that if anything happens you have it recorded this is definitely the one I'd recommend.
This Vanture N4 Camera is very great, and with high quality. But Car Charger with 11.4ft Type C USB Cable is not enough long, and it is a little bit short for my car.
This camera set is made with excellent quality and the performance is awesome.I love having the front, cabin and rear camera as it covers all possible areas of concern.A great investment!
I really like the quality of this camera plus that there are 3 separate cameras. It was really easy to install too; hardest part was taking the time to hide and run the wires to the power source. I had a dash cam before but it was cheap and you get what you pay for which is why I upgraded. I highly recommend this camera for the high quality and ease of use.
Got talked into getting this camera because it's so good. Got it.It really really really is amazing. I'm still shocked how good the image quality is for all of the cameras. The front camera can easily see license plates. The rear camera can also see license plates. Even the inside camera can see license plates! That's crazy cool. Also their CS team is top notch. I was having problems installing it and getting it to go and they responded to my emails really quickly. Guided me on what to do and how to fix the issue and even offered a replacement. Couldn't be happier with it.
Visual and auditory record, of front, rear, and passenger compartment of work vehicle. Don't like the 3min segmented videos, hard to find by name if constant recording. (not by timestamp) finding fault is easier the internal gyroscope gets triggered, placed in a priority folder. Get the GPS it's worth $40 extra. The SD card is a bit of a bear to remove to get images off of device, perhaps I'm doing it wrong...
When it comes to dash cameras you have to ask yourself what am I buying this for? If you are like me you are buying it for protection, insurance and the ability to review what you have seen in your driving adventures. For the last one this would have been great years ago when I went 4x4ing with my Jeep. From the start you can see this is a high quality product, even the boxes were top notch. I loved that the power cord had a bonus USB port in the back so that you don't starve your other devices of power. The cables seemed to be made of high quality materials and the mounting for the window was also well throughout. I wasn't a huge fan of the "quick" disconnect on the unit though, it requires a lot of effort to separate but then again this isn't something you have to do very often. The menus are pretty straight forward but you have a lot of options to customize the system to your desired needs. This may get some people anxious but realize the factory standard setting will work for 99% of the customers. I love having all of the different options. The camera viewing screens can be changed showing just one camera or up to all three. It also has a mute button to keep any private discussions from getting out ;^)The video quality is fantastic for all three cameras. The front one looks fantastic at 2K and the inside camera is more then enough at 1080. The rear camera also pleasantly surprised me, taking great details even through limo black tinting. Please take a look at the video I uploaded; it wasn't taken at ideal time of day but I thought it would be a good real world example for those staying at home.Ponie up and pay the extra, you will be happy each time you use it. The video and audio are fantastic and the build quality seems great as well. Nice job Vantrue!
Dash cam would suddenly stop recording in the middle of the trip after use for one year. Tried everything reset the camera and bought new memory cards , formatted the cards.it just records and you don’t know when it stops recording. I drive rideshare and this is not acceptable for me. I bought another n4 pro , if it does the same thing again . Will never buy from this company again. Very disappointed
Very customizable, has a shock sensor in case someone hits your car unattended, has motion detection which works perfectly, and video quality inside and from the rear is excellent day or night and front cam is just as good. Love the three way footage, audio recording, and night vision as it’s good for much more than collision. Can record theft, potential thieves, hit and runs, etc. Sony components on camera. Like that it can be hardwired for continuous usage a must in my opinion would strongly recommend it. I don’t seem to have issues with the mount either it’s stuck on firm on my tinted windshield since day one unlike some other reviews. My absolute biggest complaint is the display screen completely blacks out and the unit gets extremely hot when parked in direct sun. At first I though humidity was the issue but it seems to be heat itself. After driving a while the black fades away and the display returns but it has colored lines and/or gritty display. Actually recorded footage doesn’t seem effected but this is extremely annoying and complaint worthy given the price point. I went with this model for the excellent features, company, and reviews here on online. I’ve seen dashcam footage from the Middle East to Russia. I live in the Midwest, and though I have a dark colored car and it’s summer I can’t believe for this price point a dashcam has such issues in relatively moderate temperature compared to other regions and when a dashcam’s sole place is in a vehicle windshield with varying temperature exposures. It should be designed better to handle temperature and as mentioned footage seems unaffected it’s just the display but this could potentially cause issues if you need to show the footage for legal/accident purposes and have no way of reviewing it via the memory card. As a plus, I have been in contact several times with the seller and they have replied promptly and courteously and have offer varied solutions but the problem persists. As of now, I could only recommend this if you live in very solid and temperate area not too hot or cold maybe California or such; or cover your windshield or park in shard constantly which defeats its purpose or isn’t always possible.
I'm been doing rideshare & food delivery driving 3 yrs and my trusty N2 Pro's battery is now shot so it was time to upgrade. Ive only had my new N4 a few days and havent installed it yet, but wanted to post a preliminary review about some key points I've discovered so far. First, watch the brief video showing how quickly the rear cam adjusts to widely-changing light amounts...its almost instant! This quick-adjust capability is important to me cause I do lots of driving at night and the increasing amount of other car drivers behind me with highbeams on, is bugging me more and more. I'm also replacing my standard non-dimming rear view mirror with a high tech one so with this plus the N4, I'm hoping the issues of overly-bright headlights behind me will disappear. The rear cam should work great through my 35% max-legal tint on the rear window. And for me and other 'commercial' drivers who rain-x their windows regularly, rain droplets and dust shouldnt hinder the rear view much at all. Once I install and have a video of its performance in the rain, I'll post & update this review. Second, note how much bigger the N4's screen is vs the N2 Pro's! Its about 2.5x bigger. I plan to mount my N4 up high so it'll be real close to my face. Thus I'm hoping I'll be able to use it as a 'general purpose' backup camera (though I know that since the the rear cam will be mounted on rear window, it wont be that useful for the dreaded 'blind reversing' out of a parking stall when next to a big SUV. I'd need a license plate-mounted backup camera with 180 degree field of view for this specific purpose) One amateurish mistake Vantrue made with the N2 Pro is they made its front-view lens protrude slightly from the unit, meaning one could eventually scratch the lens from putting it lens-downwards on the table or rattle around in the glovebox, lots. But the N4's lens is recessed enough that the circular housing functions as the typical lip to help protect the lens from this. (I know the pic doesnt show this difference all that well, sorry) Lastly, I've tested using my Samsung EVO Plus (top of the line) and EVO Select 256 micro SD cards a little, and they both seem to work just fine. The red EVO Plus was one of the most-commonly recommended SD cards to use in the N2 Pro as of a few yrs ago, so I'm sure there's tons of gig economy drivers like me who already have a bunch. When I've tested both types of cards extensively, I'll update my review. The Select model's about $10 cheaper so hopefully it'll suffice.
This was a great upgrade from my previous camera that I had for three years. It does it all with its three channels and amazing video quality. The inside facing camera is very good, as you can se from my picture, and that alone would be good enough for recording the rear of your car. The additional rear camera is just a great bonus to add to the overall coverage this camera offers. The suction cup mount is secure, holds in place well, and can be positioned so it is mostly covered by the rearview mirror so you almost forget you have it. My only complaint is the power cord is plugged in from the top and not the side, but if you are tucking the wire directly into the headliner this wouldn't be an issue (I purchased an angled USB-C adaptor and all is well). Overall, I am very happy with this camera and would recomend it for anyone looking for a quality full coverage dash cam.
This dashcam supports 3 channels - front, inside, and rear cameras. That makes the system complete. The packaging is also first class. You feel like getting something from Apple. Installation is not complicated but routing the cables takes some work. Although this is true for any camera systems. The picture quality is up to the stated resolution. I am happy with it. There's only one minor area they can improve. The installation menu can use an illustration for rear camera connection. It does have a photo depicting the connection but not very obvious. I missed it first and wonder how to connect the rear camera. It's there but you have to read the text.
I am a regular customer for quality Vantrue DashCams. This is my second dash cam I purchased from them. It is indeed worth the monies spent and serve the purpose for any gig working out there. My self uses this while doing Uber,Lyft,Instacart etc. Vantrue dash cam have really saved me from false claim by others when involved in any kind of mishaps while driving, it records truth about the event and helped with insurance claim twice and I won both the cases. My compliments to Vantrue management for giving such a great dash-cams. I highly recommend Vantrue dash-cams for anyone who like to use while driving for any purpose and save unwanted expenses occurring from false claims.keep it up Vantrue giving excellent dash-cams. There is no completion to their dash-cams.
This Dash Cam has three cameras, including one for the passenger cabin. It provides an almost 360-degree record of the environment around the car. I just wish it came with GPS too, but they sell It for a relatively little extra, you can also add GPS functionality so you’ll be able to view your speed, location, and routes traveled using the included video player.I like that it also records the sounds inside the car. That could be so useful one day!One of the main drawbacks of the dashcam is that it doesn’t have wireless capabilities which means it can’t connect to my smartphone, so if I want to export or view recorded footage on a larger screen I will have to either remove the microSD card or connect the dash cam to a TV or computer. The camera that captures inside of the car is equipped with infrared lamps for good visibility, even in total darkness. The rear-facing camera attaches to the back window and records in 1080p. The star of the show, however, is the primary, front camera: capable of 1440p, 30 fps recording (or 1520p if the other cameras are switched off), it uses a WDR Sony Starvis sensor. This is currently a kind of industry standard and highly prized for its reliable performance in all types of lighting. This array of cameras is combined with a beneficial technology: video motion detection. Aside from the impact sensor, which measures shock and acceleration, this dash cam’s parking mode will trigger a recording whenever it detects a significant change in the image within the field of view of any camera.By contrast with the GPS module, this will mean a bit of DIY on your part (the GPS add-on resides in a replacement mount and requires no skill to get working).Since this particular dash cam uses a supercapacitor rather than an internal battery, you’ll need to connect some wires to your car’s fuse box rather than relying on the normal 12V outlet (as these generally switch off when the key is removed from the ignition). This kit is neither expensive nor difficult to install but maybe too much of a hassle if you’re looking for a truly plug-and-play solution. The dashcam gives some flexibility in terms of what I want to record: I can turn off audio recording, the interior camera, and the rearview. I can also select a time-lapse mode (which is useful for recording a trip, either to show MY employer that I wasn’t wasting time or to supplement my ordinary holiday snapshots) and adjust the sensitivity of the impact sensor. The dashcam can be configured in several different ways. For example, you can choose to tilt the rear-facing interior camera at the front up and down through 60 degrees or mount the rear camera reversed to give a more detailed overview of the passenger compartment.* The screen size is not that big like most dashcam screen, therefore you won’t be able to see much when displaying all three channels at once (this is the default operating mode when all cameras are being recorded). The same 3-picture display isn’t available on your phone or computer: the Vantrue Player doesn’t give you the option of synchronizing the three feeds that can be a drawback.* A bigger problem is that you also can’t adjust the brightness – falling between two chairs, it’s a little distracting at night and a little challenging to make out when it’s bright outside (you can judge for yourself if you watch the video a little further down).* Since you can’t connect the dashcam via WiFi, you have to remove the front dash cam unit and connect it to a computer to export videos, or play them directly on a television using the micro-HD output. Alternatively, you can yank out the memory card and read it using the included microSD to USB converter.* Thanks to an impressive 256 gigabytes of storage, however, you get about 16 hours of recordings when all three channels are in use. This way, if you just delete the footage of trips where nothing happened, you won’t have to export or view it elsewhere very often.Pros* Cheaply upgraded with GPS capability* Nearly all-round view* Good nighttime views inside and in front of the car* Easy installation* Good video qualityCons* Have to install hardwire kit to use parking mode* Cumbersome to export video footage* Somewhat expensive, even with its 3 cameras
This camera is High quality and the best camera out there. Came nicely packaged in the box and nothing was wrong with the box when it arrived. Would recommend to anyone who is an Uber or Lyft driver. Or anyone who just wants peace of mind while driving.
I needed another dash cam for the other car. My wife is in car insurance law, so when this N4 became available with the rear window camera she was all for it. The more evidence the better. The camera is packaged extremely well with a short user guide and longer manual. All necessary cables for both powering the camera in the car and also to connect up to a computer. The only extra thing you need is a micro SD card.I was able to easily get the camera setup with a microSD installed. Set the language, date, time, and format the card. You can see in the close up picture. Small top left is the rear passenger camera, small top right is the rear windshield camera, and the big picture is the front facing.I stuck it to my windshield using the provided suction cup attachment and got to running the cables. I like the cables to be run extremely cleanly, mainly because if my kids saw a new cable they would probably pull on it. I was able to tuck everything away and will describe how next. You can see, or well can’t see, how the cables are all hidden away.An install tip. Having done this a few times now I have found the key to installing in tight areas and under seals is a couple of the free metal paint can openers. The bent tip is perfect for lifting a seal and pushing the round cable under.First was the main power cable. That can run up into the headliner and across to the passenger side pillar and down. Then under the glove compartment. I had extra cable, but it can just tuck away in the dash near the 12V power and shifter.Next is the long run to the rear windshield. This cable also starts from the camera. So up into the headliner it goes, then over following the other cable to the passenger side pillar. Now instead of going down we tuck it into the seal along the top, through to the back seats and then continue to the trunk. You can see the cable poke out of the seal to go direct to the camera in the top of the 5th picture. I had a lot of extra cable, but fortunately there is usually a lot of space behind the plastic covers, so I just tucked it all in there. The rear camera rotates so you can stick it on and then rotate it for the right angle as the rear window is generally at an angle. Yes, I did say stick on. It uses a 3M sticky pad for the rear, not a suction cup. It also comes with a spare sticky pad. I imagine for moving to a new car if needed.Pros:Very easy to install.Video quality is great.USB-C connection now instead of the older mini USB.Cons:I wish it had built in wifi like some of the other models have. Without the wifi I need to either show the video from the small screen, or connect up to my laptop if I have it.
I have never written a product review on Amazon but I was so impressed with the quality of this dash cam that I had to write on here. This is literally the best dash cam in the market today! I will be purchasing two more for the family vehicle.
The Vantrue dash cam is a lot smaller than I anticipated. It fit easily on the windshield, just be sure to really push in on the suction cup before installing. The dash cam itself was very easy to get up and running. Do remember that the SD card you insert has to be formatted through the dash cam (go to format through the menu).Image quality is really good. Really impressed with the cabin camera with infrared. Held up to hot weather and the sun beaming down on it for a whole day. It was hot to touch, but ran perfectly.Motion detection was fairly sensitive, which was good and picked up motion with all the tests I ran.If you are a rideshare driver, this is a must!
I agree with most of the many positive reviews. See UPDATE below. You only get 2K picture quality by shutting off the other two cameras; otherwise it’s 1080P for all three. It’s not bad but I haven’t tried to read license plates yet. The manual confused me with the comment that the camera should not be left on for “too long”. I pressed for details and got back static. My friends and I have different brands of dash cams and had no issues with this. I live where every Summer is a heat wave. I hope Vantrue will upgrade to 4K resolution for all three cameras, and Wi-Fi/Bluetooth and an app. My screen goes black when it’s 100 degrees outside but still records. I’m sure my car gets much hotter. If the capacitor doesn’t last long enough to view recordings when unplugged (about 10 seconds). It seems handy for saving the current recording before it stops.UPDATE 2022-February. 1.5 years later.I’ve had very minor issues leaving this camera on 24/365 after getting used to it.1. Make sure I use high endurance SD cards and format them at least monthly.2. Hard reset the camera weekly or more.3. Not cheap but I had a second battery installed just for the camera so I can run it all the time without draining my starter battery. Now it’s extremely reliable and I’m super happy!
This dashcam is one of a kind! The rear camera rotates so it can be easily be set up to any car. The picture is clear and the night mode captures it all. I also ordered the GPS and it shows your speed and location.I recommend it to anyone who wants to have a peace of mind while driving!
Updated Review: 11/28/20Got rear ended at night time, and the video quality was so bad we could not read the license plate number from the vehicle that hit us from the rear, the driver sped away really fast and the rear and front cams picture is blurry when it comes to reading or zooming in on the license plate of the driver that hit us, while this camera picture quality is great in the daytime, its awful in the night time during low light, and who is to say like in our case an accident will happen at night with low light rendering this cam useless.Cons:Does (NOT) have Wi-Fi.Does (NOT) have cloud storage like some other cams.Does (NOT) have apps to install on your phone to view videosCould (NOT) open video file with older Computer programs.I wish we were better educated on cam features before buying this. Return window expired. Learn from our experience and invest in a cam that has more features such as Wi-Fi, cloud storage, phone app, and definitely better night vision, go with 4k with at least 30-60 fps (Recording in Frames per seconds) highly recommended 4k with 60 fps based on my research. We rely on reviews and reviews have helped us many times in deciding what to buy, Hope this review helps you decide what you want. based on my research I'm undecided on either buying the Blackvue 900X or the Thinkware U1000. Anyone that owns those I would love your feedback on nighttime pic quality?Original Review:I'm very impressed by this dash cam, and customer service was very helpful in helping me figure some stuff out, picture quality is good. 5 stars :)
So far this product is very nice. I would like to see a feature that will allow zoom-in on areas of the frame chosen so one can ID license plate numbers. I think this would be very valuable.
Very happy with the camera and quality. Watched YouTube and installed it without showing cables. Looks perfect. Very clean image for front, rear and inside.
I've used several dashcams in the past, this one really was the best of all that I've tried!3 cameras in one, IR night vision for the internal video, and 1440p for the main cam! This all-in-one solution solves the issue of missing any important angles from your car, you get all the important ones: Front, rear and inside! If you are an uber, lyft or any other type of delivery driver, this would be a MUST HAVE!I don't have a commercial use case myself for this, I put it on my family car, but it is great peace of mind for my car in case I ever need the footage. This rivals my other car which I put a front and rear dashcam on, since this is an all-in-one solution with 1 memory card and charger, much easier to manage.Highly recommended, I'll probably be getting a few more!
This is the best of those dash cams which I been use before, the design is very nice, the quality is clear, easy to install and delivered on time! Im so satisfied with this product
This is my 3rd Vantrue dash cam. I was impressed with the N2, it was easy to install, had forward and rearward camera and night vision. It works well so I decided to get a second for my other car. By then the N2 Pro was available and it worked even better. Buying a new car and decided to upgrade to the N4. Very impressed it just keeps getting better. The addition rear camera takes a minute to hide the wiring but is a great addition. I researched every dash cam I could find before buying my first Vantrue and even looked at the cameras friends had. I still think the Vantrue is the best all around for ease of install, ease of use and quality of video. I did provide video of a crash to someone I was following and it completely settled who was at fault.
I have been using Vantrue N2 for about a year now, the dashcam is still working great overall. Last month, I gave a try to buy a different brand dashcam and return right away after using it for a week. I was very disappointed at all. Stick with Vantrue brand, I bought another one called Vantrue N4, one of the best dashcams so far. This cam offers 3 different ways around the car, front, inside cabin, and road back. The video quality is pretty great, with very clear images, high resolution. The motion detection and parking mode are very quick and sensitive. The dashcam also supports high capacity of the sd card. Highly Recommend.
Having previously owned Vantrue's N2 camera with front and cabin recording, I was pleased to see that they released an N4 model which added a rear camera to the unit. This is great since I've always wanted the additional rear view recording, and I'm super happy with the N4 as it provides an excellent image quality and reliable recording of my surroundings. The set up is very easy, wasn't sure how the rear camera would connect but they include a 20' USB-C cable that hooks up to the main unit. I was able to neatly tuck this into the outside of the headliner so that the cord isn't in my way.Quality wise I am happy with the results I am getting from the N4. If using just the front camera your maximum resolution is 1592x1520, while recording all 3 separate views at once provides video resolution of 1440p for the front and 1080p for interior and rear. The auto exposure seems to be spot on as does the auto white balance. My rear window is tinted and in daylight the image quality is still clear. The interior view of the cabin is also great whether in daytime or night thanks to the IR view. This is super helpful for rideshare drivers. All in all I feel like the N4 will always be in my car, it's a worthwhile investment to have the security and peace of mind out on the road. I'm not sure if Vantrue can come out with a better successor as this cam seems to be perfect for me so not sure if they can improve on it, but we will see. For now I am very satisfied with the purchase and recommend this.
I use this product for my protection & for my family especially when we have a road trip somewhere far away from home. And if you got pulled over by a wrong cop with a wrong citation you can show the video to the judge to contest your citation.I love the picture & the video quality of this pruduct.I got it hard wire to cover my parking monitoring. Especially overnight parking.
This is my first dash cam and so far it doesn’t disappoint. It was super easy to set up. The night vision has a great picture/video. You can record noise or turn it off. When you register it, it comes with an 18 month warranty. I like having the super capacitor because I leave it in my car during extreme heat. I have had things with batteries and the expand when they get hot. Anytime I have contacted customer service with a question, the have responded quickly, so thats a plus. I highly recommend giving Vantrue a try if you are looking into getting a great quality dash cam.
Dislike : Power source connection connects only to suction cup mount. Can not use without the Mount.Camera quality is poor for the price. To see a license plate number you must be within about 5 feet of the car.I also bought the Vantrue 256GB MicroSDXC UHS-I U3 V30 Class 10 4K UHD Video High Speed Transfer Monitoring SD Card with Adapter for Dash Cams, Body Cams, Action Camera, Surveillance & Security Cams also and it makes you reformat about every 15 days. So you are better off just buying a generic one, since you are going to have to reformat all the time no matter what you do.I would not buy this product again. Low QUALITY PRODUCT, HIGH PRICE. BUYER BEWARE
The product is very easy to install and setup. No issues with SD Micro. The image quality is superb! I love this dash cam. Definitely recommend the N4 for 3 channel performance.
Received my n4 and can't wait to install it. Previously had the n2pro which I also loved, but got the n4 because I needed a camera for the back and I like the fact that the n4 has front, inside and rear view all in one. Havent used it yet so I will update my review later but I will say based on the n2pro gets clear video day and night, amazing sound and pics, and where I live its really hot and camera works great. The only thing is the ducking cup sometimes comes off I guess from the heat. But that is not a game changer just wipe your windshield with rubbing alcohol and it sticks fine.. you won't be disappointed becauseUpdateBeen meaning to uldate my review. I wasnt able to install my dash cam right away. I finally install it and after a week the screen blacks out. Its fine in the morning and I get to work then when I leave work the cam screen is black. Then the next day it has gotten a little better that you can see. It might be just a freak malfunction cause I know sometimes that happens not saying this brand sucks. I wish though I would have kept my other dash cam and not spent this much money on this one.
but one of channel went bad in 3 months. I disconnected a power and re-connect as recommended by Vantrue support but it went bad again in a few hours. You can check from my photo that listed files and 2 of A channel video files are not normal and playback with only 2 channels instead of 3 channels. I requested a technical support again so I will update later based on how it goes.Updated on 7/28/20I had an issue with front camera that failed to display & record. I had to contact with customer service-actually I am having a long history with CS since I ordered OBD cable- then they sent me a new one to re-try it. They had to re-send another one since first replacement was nowhere on the way to carrier. The CS response is quite good and can see they are work for CUSTOMER so I change my rate from 3 to 5. Will keep update.
I've had two Vantrue N2 Pro as of last year for both of my cars and they worked great, with a moderate deficiency for one of the cameras that was taken cared of at a good pace by the Vantrue team! Now both of those cameras are going into my family's cars because I selfishly bought a N4 and now planning to buy another one for my cars! The three-channel setup was the deal breaker for me, and like the N2 Pro, the qualities in built and recording so far are great! One thing that was very different for me when it comes to the N4 files though, is that you now need a software like VLC to view the videos where the N2 Pro did not require that; unless you pay $1 for the codec with Microsoft's media player.
This camera is amazing! This way I feel safe knowing if something happens I have it all recorded, prevents countless hours and days trying to prove how any accident was not my fault. Definitely recommend!!
I'm refunding mine before the 30 days run out. I loved this camera at first until I started noticing problems which I will get to later in this review. Mine was hard-wired into my 2019 Honda Civic using Vantrue's kit and Vantrue's 256GB Micro SD card. The good-3 way dash camera, rare to find right now.-Amazing camera quality all-around.-Easy overall setup.-Simple and clean GUI.-Interior camera has night vision.-USB C baby. The bad-Micro SD card is DIFFICULT to put in and pull out. You better have some long nails or a tool.-Suction cup isn't perfect. Mine fell twice in the first week before getting lucky and not having it fall any time after that. Just imagine going to your car to find the camera hanging there.-No built in WiFi, so no phone app.-No built in GPS.-Microphone sucks, sounds muffled compared to the Vantrue N2. Check Youtube.-Why I refunded mine.-Constantly needing to restart the dash cam to activate all the cameras. Sometimes one or two wouldn't be detected while the others would be. I'd either restart it or unplug the back camera to get it all working TOGETHER.-One time everything would be on and recording fine. I park and come back to my car an hour later. All cameras are on the picture is frozen. I see my front seats like I'm not in the car. The timer is going but nothing is happening.-One time all cameras were recording but the cabin camera came back as unplayable files while the others were fine.No it's not user error, no it's not any settings. It's either buggy software with good hardware or vice versa. I'm not sticking around to decide or trouble shoot a $350 camera. (dash cam, memory card, hardwire kit, tax)There's many other options on the market. Have a good day.
I didn't think this dashcam was going to be worth the money, but even though it costs like triple the dashcam I have in my other vehicle, it really is worth every penny.Unlike many other dashcams out there the menu options are easy to understand and setup is simple. The actual installation is pretty easy too, just keep in mind you do have to run the (long enough for my Chevy Suburban!!) cable from the rear camera along the whole vehicle somewhere inside.Picture quality is absolutely fantastic from all three cameras. I've attached a screenshot of video from all three cameras to my review. It's unfortunate the camera is so clear because it makes it obvious how messy my work truck is. Oops! Night vision is also very good, you can read license plates no problem. The build quality of the camera is also worthy of five stars although I'm not a huge fan of the mount for the main camera unit. The USB-C power cable goes through the mount which is nice but it rotates 90 degrees to lock and the cable sticks up so you can't put the camera all the way at the top of the window because the connector gets in the way. Also, the ball socket thing on the mount takes some fiddling to get tight enough so you can press the buttons on the camera without it moving around.Packaging is very apple-esque. Professional and nice to look at.Overall this is a top-notch dashcam that's worthy of five stars and the price tag but I would like to see some refinement of the mounting system.
The picture quality works great. Unfortunately, the parking mode (my main reason for buying this) did not work properly. I had it hardwired and the unit went into standby after 5 minutes. It would not come back out of standby when I opened the car door, shut the door and started the car up. I also hip checked the vehicle and shook it from outside and that did not trigger it to come out of standby. It would periodically come on 2-3 minutes later, usually when I hit a bump. If I slammed my door extra hard, there was a 50/50 chance it would trigger the unit and come on. This is unacceptable. I went round and round with tech support. Their conclusion was that my vehicle was built well, so by me shaking/bumping the car, or casually closing the door, that was not enough. I'm not paying $200+ dollars for a unit that may or may not work properly. I also feared that if my vehicle was bumped by another car, I'm not sure it would cut on. I returned it and I am currently searching for an alternative. Also, for this price, wi-fi or bluetooth should be included.
I upgraded my entry level dashcam to the Vantrue N4 and now understand the difference between a cheap dashcam and a good quality one. Upon receipt of delivery, my initial impressions were that the packaging was impressive and draws similarities to the packaging of other premium electronic companies. It made me feel like I had purchased a truly high quality device. After opening the box and unwrapping the front camera I immediately noticed the heft and tough feeling of it. The advertising claims this device can withstand high temperatures and by the feel of it, I do not doubt that claim.Installing the device itself was very easy, but for me it took about an hour as I meticulously tucked away all the wires in between the frame and headliner/side pillars of my vehicle. After starting up my vehicle, the camera instantly powered on and I could see the three channels displayed sharply on the camera screen. This was a big upgrade from what I was used to because my previous dashcam screen was half the size of this one. I liked how I could see the front, rear, and inside of my vehicle simultaneously and that I knew that this was all being recorded.I may update this review after I drive around with this device some more and review the recordings. So far I can say that this device is excellent.
This thing is awesome works great little bit smaller than I thought it was going to be so that's awesome very nice wires come with it high-quality not cheap ones they have the good rubber around them Lenny long enough to run from the very back of a 2009 Lexus IS 250 all the way around to the front
Product impression: It does not look cheap. It’s well built and the outside feels like rubberized. I left it in a car through very hot summer and still no issue.
Very good resolution: See the photos. Both interior and exterior resolutions are good. Interior of my car is black leather and the person is wearing dark blue jacket but the camera still shows a good image. I redacted the face but details are pretty good. Vehicle license plate numbers can be read on 1080P (outside)/1080P(inside). The menu also offers a higher resolution but then it does not offer dual camera views.
Easy setup: Good suction cup/holder is very steady and not shaky. Well built, plug and play as the factory setting is already good for most users. Menu and buttons are simple and easy to understand. Good user interface.
Excellent/responsive customer: Customer support by email is very responsive and genuinely interested in resolving a customer’s concerns and issues. It generally takes 1 or 2 days to response but they do get back to you. They also don’t hesitate to offer exchange a defective dash cam under warranty after trouble shootings.
Optional GPS: Quick fix GPS antenna and enables speed of a vehicle stamps on video files.
Suggestion: Use good quality micro SD cards made for frequent write/delete like SanDisk High Endurance Video Monitoring. Check once in a while to make sure the files are not corrupted. Reformat every 1 or 2 weeks. Keep one extra SD card as backup. Throw away and get a new one if SD cards keep corrupted or turns on/off the dash cam. Also, always use OEM cable and charger. Connect USB directly to the dash cam rather than through the holder or GPS antenna if you are having any power issue. Update firmware only if necessary so that you know if the dash cam experiences some issues you can spot the issue.
