It’s that’s have nice camera quality but it stop work in 4 day after I buy it I check the file of the videos Record and all of the videos that save was all black screen no record I even try the reset button did not help
I recently purchased a car, one of the first car gadget people told me to purchase is a dashcam because you never know what will happen. However, as a first time car owner I had no idea what I was looking for. I searched for dashcam on amazon and this was one of the top 5 dashcams amazon showed. I decided to check it out for myself. The camera it self was easy to install and not bulky in anyway that will obstruct my vision. As for the picture quality In my opinion it is better than some of my YouTube video at times:To be expected from a 4K dashcam. This dashcam came with every feature a dashcam can offer which is also another reason why I chose this dashcam. I made sure it came with night vision because accidents usually occur during the night. I haven't had the chance to test it out yet, however I expect great results as well. Overall, this dashcam offers every feature a dashcam can offer, as well as high quality recordings of your surrounding.
Straight to point - the camera itself is made of high quality plastic. Really impressed with the camera's ability to record three cameras to the SD card at the same time, each camera recording end with suffixes A B C.Dashcam uses USB-C to allow consistent data recording to the SD card, provides the option to select a different resolution for each camera. The G-Sensor records video into the Protect folder based on the shock sensitivity setting in the dashcam menu. The rear cam is connected to the front camera with a long USB-C cable. It is not touch screen but it easier with physical buttons when the screen is this small.
This is a great unit. It was very easy to install with the hardwire kit and easy to set up. Crisp video. The only thing missing is a wider view in the interior camera and Wi-Fi for uploading clips.
The N4 is the latest dash cam with USB type C that may avoid the need for re-wiring in case of upgrading! In my evaluation with a wall charger, the image quality and night view appear to be great! The installation in my car is fairly easy, and the settings are pretty straightforward. Some folks say it’s not possible for the driver to check all the time that whether the camera is recording, but I can see the red dot flashing on the screen once powered on after upgrading with the V8 firmware; as for the power source connection, I can use either the suction cup mount or the port for rear cam when connecting the main cam to PC. I will test how close a license plate number is visibly noticeable, and if I have to manually reformat micro SDXC every month, and how the parking mode works with additional obd2 power. BTW, I use a Sandisk U1 micro SDXC.
Going by their history, and by the products and reviews on Amazon over the years, Vantrue has been around for a while in the dashcam industry. So it's to be expected that people have bought their products, used them thoroughly, and have to make a decision on what model to upgrade to when they want the latest and greatest. When I made that decision, I decided to stick with Vantrue, and I just changed out my N2 Pro, to the N4. So basically I'm comparing a product released July 2017, to January 2020, and basically comparing the flagship product from 2.5 years ago, to the flagship today. I liked my N2 before, and I see the N4 as improving on most aspects of the unit. I appreciate that the lithium battery is replaced with a capacitor, the front resolution is higher, and I believe that the video quality is improved as well. One thing work noting is that Vantrue has a track record of supporting their products with upgraded firmware. I went to their website to confirm my memory. In 2020, Vantrue provided 3 firmware updates, and in 2019, there were 4, for the N2 model. I look to their support of the N2, and feel good about buying the N4, and to the product being supported well by the manufacturer into the future. My one suggestion is to create a written note to yourself describing any changes you make to the default settings, since each firmware update resets the settings to default. Now after every firmware update, I look at my note, re-input my settings in 2 minutes, and I'm back to happy with my preferred setup.
I decided to go with this brand again when I purchased my second car. The camera quality is great from all three cameras and is easy to set up. The small camera that goes in the back of the car is small and is easy to hide. The wiring is long enough to reach the back of 2016 Prius. Overall it is a great dashcam and I do not have complaints using it daily.
Best dash cam I’ve ever had, period. All three cameras can be used to record simultaneously. I had it installed professionally because I wanted it hard wired to my truck. 1080p videos are awesome. Took a pix of a paused video so you can see the clarity of the camera.
tl;drPros:- good picture quality- secure mount (after a few attempts) means less bouncy footage- extra long cable for rear camera- capacitor power works (doesn't cut out while driving)- night recordings in car work wellCons:- no bluetooth or wifi clip downloading, must remove micro SD card- i've seen the color briefly look odd for a few seconds in some videos, unsure if that's cloud coverage or the camera sensor, lasts a few seconds and haven't noticed a pattern for when it happensI purchased the vantrue n4 because I recently bought a new car and was looking for a dashcam to give me peace of mind in case of an accident. I decided on this N4 package because it offered both the front and rear camera, as well as the optional in-car camera. I figure I can use the in-car footage if I need to, otherwise I've got 1440 and 1080 front and rear.Video quality was my main concern, and the N4 delivers great quality even when recording with all 3 cameras. Front camera recording at night is still good and I can read the STOP text on a stop sign. Rear camera recording at night is less good, but still good enough that I can make out cars in both of my blindspots. Overall, even without recording on only the main camera to achieve the highest resolution, I find the quality to meet my needs.I didn't look forward to installing the camera because I knew it would involve running wires under my car's trim, and I was unsure if I would need to remove any trim pieces. Thankfully with a lot of pushing and delicate lifting I was able to hide the cables for both the power and the rear camera under my trim and weather stripping while only a few inches of cable are exposed at various junctions where the trim meets dashboard or solid A-pillar. Installation took me around 30 minutes total and I found it to be easier than expected, though I had sore fingers from pressing the cable into tight spots for a few minutes. I also had a bit of trouble getting the window mount to secure, but I found that holding a lot of pressure while locking the mount secured it well after my 6th or 7th try. After driving for a bit I did need to reposition the camera slightly by turning it in order to reduce glare from the headlights of cars behind me. Also be aware that the camera does not rotate 360 degrees on the mount, it's got about a 120 degree arc so I recommend positioning the camera toward the center of the area it can rotate in when mounting so you can tweak the positioning without forcing yourself to re-mount it.If I could change one thing about the camera it would be adding bluetooth or wifi syncing so I don't have to remove the micro SD card to obtain footage. I read reviews before purchasing and knew this wouldn't be included, and for my purposes of essentially insuring myself in the case of a crash it wasn't a deciding factor for me, but it would be much more convenient to be able to review or download footage directly from the dashcam rather than being forced to remove the micro SD card.Feb 2021 update: It appears the color problems I was seeing were caused by the fact that I hadn't removed the adhesive lens protection that ships on the camera. After removing it the color seems fine.
Really good low-light performance, rear camera is an 18 MP and shoots pretty clear shots, the infrared camera is also really good.My only kind of complaint is that the Microphone Quality somehow managed to decrease, I have a Vantrue N2 Pro on my car and the Microphone is loud and clear, and then I installed the Vantrue N4 on my wife's car and the Microphone sounds Muffled. Besides that it's an outstanding Dash Cam really clean UI, and would recommend to anyone trying to get a dash cam.
It works as advertised. Records three ways camera. The biggest problem with this camera is that the suction cup falls under the bright sunlight. I tried to message the company of the defect and ask for the replacement. But never heard back. Do not expect company support.
I am a big fan of vantrue N2 pro. It helped me catch a vehicle break-in in action. I ordered this product to expand the security to the rear side as well.Vantrue N4:Easy to install in my SUV (Ford Escape).Very high-resolution video in both daylight and night.Quickly format your memory card and set it up in the camera.Need Care -There is a small clearance between the memory card slot and the case. Careful in sliding the memory card into it.
I recently purchased this dash cam and installed it in my Jeep. So far so good. The install was simple and the quality of the camera is amazing. If i had to be picky, I would like to see the vendor improve the night vision due to glare from the lights on the road. Other then that, I am very happy with the purchase and would buy again.
I had the N2 pro. This by far exceeds my expectations. I would definitely recommend.Super clear video and audio is great. My wife and I were discussing when I threw out the trash. Our conversation was being recorded and I use the little clip to provide proof. Man this little thing is a life savor. Now if I get pulled over for suspected criminal law that I was using my phone while driving this would provide proof that I didn't have anything.
This is the dash camera to buy it has excellent packaging excellent build quality and instructions. This device has hdmi out so you can connect to a hdmi display accessory if your vehicle is equipped and also includes a rear camera. The connections are simple to install and easy to understand as well as the functionality.Supports microSD U3 card up to 256GB.You will not be disappointed this is a great product
This is my first dash cam and has met all my expectations. My favorite feature is that this cam records the front, rear and the drivers seat. My one improvement comment would be to add functionality to connect the camera to your phone either through Bluetooth or wifi. It would be great to have footage stored on both the camera and my phone.
The VANTRUE OnDash N4 3-Channel Dash Cam is worthless. My old Cobra 1080P FHD from Costco for $45 is much better. Problems with the Vantrue N4 include, not being able to view the files on my PC, mounting the camera to the suction cup mount, getting the camera to turn on, etc. Just a few slightly important items that a reasonable customer would expect from a dash cam costing over $200, don't you think? Yes, I paid the extra money to get the official VANTRUE SD card. Don't make the same mistake I made. Also, they have no toll free phone number to call. You can email a message with your phone number and you can sit there forever with some hope that they'll call you.
This is horrible!!! not what i expected. I just recieved the unit and the mount doesnt power the unit for some reason. When i connect the cable directly the unit it power on..But u need the mount to work !!!! This is terrible quality control. Will be asking for a full refund immediately!!!
Everything about this camera is awesome. Quality, night vision, IR interior, etc.Easy install. You will need to purchase the GPS mount (extra), but it provides a good ROI overall.I would also recommend getting the 256GB micro SD since the file sizes are very large. I use scandisk extreme SD which seems to work well. Time will tell though.Make sure you upgrade firmware as well. Simple process!Have not used park mode. The only drawback is no wifi to pull the files down. If it had wifi, this would be hands down the best.
I really like this camera a lot. The video is clear and the cabin video at night looks great. My only complaint is it’s hard as heck to to take it off the mount. If you plan on using this in multiple vehicle like I do, you will quickly become aggravated trying to detach this cam from the mount. For that reason alone I gave it 4 stars.Update: finding additional power cords for a second or third vehicle is proving to be difficult. The N4 has a Type C USB and they do not offer them for sale. I guess this is what we get for buying Chinese products with no stateside support. Try to find a spare cable and you will see what I mean.
Seems to be a good camera. It was difficult to find a way to feed the wires into the back seat where the cigarette lighter was located. Wish it was wireless or a less wired design.
I browsed, read reviews, and looked at specs til they were starting to become a blur. I decided on the Vantrue N4 due its size, specs, and it checked the boxes of what I wanted. I also ordered the hardwire kit in order to be able to take advantage of the parking mode feature. After opening the box, I read through the manual, set the features and settings the way I wanted them, and took it out for a test drive. I have to say that 1440P is the way to go. The picture quality is perfect and colors are amazing. My purpose for the camera is for liability in the event of an accident and for catching all the action when going off-road. But as an added bonus, how many times have you been driving and seen something that you wish you could have caught on camera.... The N4 is loaded with all the features you really need and Vantrue has made it easy to operate and understand. And for those of you wanting a wifi/bluetooth connection for playback on your phone...... you can get an SD card reader for less than $20 and that will take care of phone playback. The Vantrue N4 is a really great choice in a quality dashcam.
This is an awesome camera. Packaging is top tier. Updating the firmware was a piece of cake. Setup and use is intuitive. So far no problems at all. Also ordered the hardwire kit. Its a great addition and adds needed capabilities. The only criticism I have is the camera is slightly difficult to remove from the mount for storage.
Just got the product installed. Haven't tested night vision yet but day time quality is better than I expected. It was fairly easy to install myself, took about 20 minutes and I have no wires showing. Edit: after several months of using it is turning off and on again repeatedly while driving. Just reached out to support so we will see
(See 1/13/21 UPDATE BELOW). I’ve given this camera a one star for two reasons. 1.) I purchased two cameras. One for my vehicle and one for my wife’s vehicle. I have installed one camera in my vehicle for testing. At the price point for this camera, at the very least a memory stick should be included with the camera. When I opened the first camera box I was disappointed to not have a card to get started with. I guess I should have looked more closely, but I didn’t see anywhere in the amazon post for this item that it didn’t include a card. Okay #2.) and this is the big deal, this camera malfunctions with the memory card and forces me to reformat the card each time I switch off my vehicle. When I bought my first memory card, I didn’t know to get the U3 variety of card, which goes back to my point #1. So I wasted money on a card I really don’t need. I bought a second card and this time I purchased the Samsung 128GB U3 type card, but testing it today was the same card malfunction/reformat SD card. I have contacted Vantrue for help, and if they come through with some resolution, I’ll change my review. The first time I tested the camera, I was able to watch a few videos and the quality looked really good. We’ll see how it goes, but these cameras may be going back. (UPDATE 1/13/21) Am giving the camera four stars now. Vantrue was quick to send a link to update the firmware in the camera. That process was somewhat challenging, but eventually I got the update done. I've tested the camera now for about two weeks with no issues whatsoever. I haven't installed the second camera in my wife's vehicle but plan to do that soon. In just the last couple of days I've had two near misses on the road, so I am thankful to now have a camera on board.
great camera especially for those who work with Lyft or Uber. I ve got one for my dad who works sometimes as an Uber driver and he’s more than happy! yes , it’s a bit pricey comparing to many other cameras on market, but it is definitely worth the price. Of course, one of the most important, and what makes a difference from expensive to a cheaper one, is how it records videos at low light environment. That camera is doing great! Even the rear one showed very good quality, much better than cheaper brands with their main lens.
I have tried the camera for about 6 weeks now and it keeps asking me to format the Vantrue card, 256gb, two to three times per week. I tried resetting the camera and changing the settings in different combinations without success. The picture quality is good and so is the recording angle but it suddenly stops recording to ask me to reset the card; sometimes it does not ask me and it just stop recording. On a trip an accident happened and I was asked to provide a copy of the event and guess what? It was not even recording... Now, the company recommends to avoid other SD card brands to prevent this from happening but even with their SD card still does. I would be cautious about buying such an expensive devise which clearly does not perform as it should. I contacted their support a couple of times but once their website froze and the other time I have not received a response even as they claim to respond within 24 hours.
These photos show my camera installed and operating (photos taken inside my garage tonight). Very clear, high resolution video, playback, etc. for all three camera views! I would recommend this camera to any share driver or for your own personal vehicle if you live in a high traffic area.
Hands down one of the best dash cams i have had. This not only has a camera on the front and inside of the cabin. But it also has the back of the car which is a huge plus. Not many cameras on the market have this option these days and if it does the quality is not up to par. If you have a young driver in your life or someone that even just started driving this is one of the dash cams that will save them if needed since all angles of the car are covered. Not to mention, if you are a cab driver this is also great because you can see inside, outside and the back of the car. Great part about this one is that it can be hard wired to the car which means it has the ability to be ran 24/7 even when the car is off. One negative i can see of this camera however is the suction cup it comes with. If the sun is beaming on it for a while it will lose its suction and the camera will fall. So that is one thing to note when it comes to this camera or any camera in general.
I love this camera, I am a lyft Driver and i only do it part time. I Have not had to use the video from in the car yet. I have looked at it a lot. Most of my rides see the camera and ask about it. they think it is a good idea to have one. The video on the Front and back camera are just good. the in cabin video is OK. I also add on the wireing kit of the fuse box and the GPS. I will take a look at the GPS video and talk about that soon. I would tell you to buy this if you do not have a lot of money to spend on camera system
This is worth the money. Its held up through hot Texas days and colder winter nights. This Camera is flawless in recording quality, has great memory (be sure to buy the Vantrue SD card) and is durable. I only have 2 small things that I wish held up better:1. The suction cup releases with temperature changes so the the camera falls. I have the cords attached to the roof so no harm really, I used to come out to my car with my camera dangling do I now just detach the camera and lock in my glove compartment when not driving. This is NOT PRACTICAL IF WANTING TO USE THIS CAMERA WHEN NOT DRIVING FOR SURVEILLANCE.2. The sound on the Camera no longer works after months of use. Not sure if the small speakers on the camera just went out or if the camera just stopped recording sound all together. All in all, this camera captures everything I need on video when driving. Good picture quality, but small defective parts/annoyances.
I purchased this dashcam as an upgrade for from an N2 Pro. The installing for the wiring was very easy running them under the trims and rubber seals along the top. I have a 4 door vehicle with a lift back and the length of the cables were more than enough. After installation. Everything worked flawlessly. Picture quality was excellent. The parking mode works very well. It senses motion as far as 33 feet away to automatically start recording so any persons or vehicle within that range is recorded. In cabin audio recording is very good. The IR night vision is bright enough to light up the whole cabin without ambient light. Overall, we are very happy with the product and highly recommend to anyone looking for a high quality dashcam.
This camera is great! It records everything in super high quality videos. It has so many options for recording and it is the best in the market. Highly recommended!
Well I bought this dash cam for a parking camera, but I have no idea if it even records. Trying to capture someone hitting my car in the parking lot. Another issue I don't know if I have a defective one but is the SD card compatibility. At first I did have a mediocre SD card that I used for my Gopro but I thought it would be fine for what it was. Everytime I got into the car it seemed it wanted me to reformat the card which was annoying and I have no idea if its recording. Now that I bought this super expensive SD card that both reads and writes at high speeds, it is still having this formatting issue. Not cool for how much cash I ditched out for this camera I would say steer clear, or maybe I got the short end of the stick. It does record pretty well when it is working though.Installation was easy and I was able to hide the wires well.2-10-21Tried to email the company directly but have not gotten any response, if I was able to return the camera I would have.
I have utilized several dash cameras in the past six years and by far, this one exceeds all expectations. The clarity of the video is sharp and clear. You can actually see the license plates of other vehicles. The three camera system was a plus to document events surrounding you. The price for this camera is good. With the excellent quality on image capturing, it would be indisputable evidence used in court cases and insurance claims. One thing would be nice; to include image stabilizing. I would pay extra for this feature.
Likes - daytime picture quality is really good. Well built, surprisingly good quality, USB C connection, decent rear camera connection cable.Dislikes - Night time pic quality can be improved, rear camera connection cable; couple of more feet could have helped to hide the cable.Worth the value, was able to get a plate details from a high speed driving video using VLC snap.
What the heck man!. I have never thought that this will create such a sharp quality!, I know it's probably too much just for a dashcam, but who wouldn't enjoy a good video right?. This is a little bit pricey, tbh that might hinder you to buy it in the first place but it will surely not disappoint you. I have looked online and watched youtube before buying it and I am impresseed. The downside though, depending on what car you have, installing it might be a little bit tricky and the supplied wire might not be enough to suit your needs.I haven't been able to use its night mode, so surely will update you on this!
Amazing camera been using it for a week and works great! Looks great too. Going to buy another one for my other vehicles easy hookup the longest thing was finding where to put the wires. Great camera!
This product is really good.Videos of all 3 cameras are great at any time of day and I love the fact that I have 3 cameras not two like most other manufacturers. My car got vandalized couple of months back that's why I bought this dachcsm, it gives me peace of mind.
Ok Ok we all know we didn't purchase this dash cam for just the unboxing experience but I just had to start with that because its great! I mean like really just go to YouTube and checkout some of the vids and you'll see what I mean. But moving on to the real review.. Setting up this camera is super easy and moving through the menu/settings is straight forward. It will only take you like 10 minutes max to completely setup the camera the way you like it then the fun part begins of hooking it up to your vehicle. The installation process is once again extremely easy (minus tucking the cables-insert OCD here, lol) and once you decided on how you would like it to be powered you're ready to hit the road and have external and internal footage. Video quality is really great and the sounds quality is pretty good for a dash cam.All in all this is a great buy for the price and gives a piece of comfort for any crazy driving events and for those times you might need it if you're pulled over.Cheers
N4 has really clear quality video resolution, night vision is fantastic very clear as well, has a big screen, and very easy to use interface, I just update it to the new firmware V7, installation process was super easy, and fast, overall great product, have not used a lot since I just bought it a few days ago, but so far so good, very impressed with the video quality and the material used in the construction of camera, it just looks great, just ordered the hardwire kit for a permanent installation.
hardware. every piece of this system is great. solid materials. durable. wires are flexible but not at all flimsy. no worry about kinks or damage make installation a brreze for anyone. oerfect length for back cam installation...no excess to wrap up and find somewhere to stuff it. suction on the mount goes on the first time and stays in place thru desert temp fluctuations and daily sun shield install and removal. provides extremely stable foundation for crystal clear video, inside the vehicle as well as front facing.video. all 3 cameras grab hd video covering nearly every inch of the vehicle. crisp stable images every time. the ir on the inside provides shockingly good night vision.i haven't found any cons. however, if you want wifi you wont find it here. for safety, i think manual transfer is best.highly recommend!*to make the most of the features of the cam, get the hard wire kit. flawless.**also, u need to get the vantrue microds 256gb. quality card and recording.
I love this dash cam, this is the best dashboard camera that I have ever used in my life. Also the best one that I have seen. A little pricey yes, but way worth it. As an Uber driver I have come to find out that a dashcam is a definite must have to protect not just your vehicle as far as accidents go but to also protect your passengers and most of all yourself. The picture quality in all three cameras is perfect/crystal clear. Its a very impressive design and easy to set up and use overall. I most definitely recommend this dashcam for anyone, especially if you are in the rideshare/delivery industry.
The front and cabinet camera is great. The only problem I have is the back camera because it is hard to get a good quality pic with tinted windows at night. Besides that, it is a great dash cam to have and highly recommended.
Nice Uber CamerasPROS: great quality video, easy to set up. flashing blue light to tell you it is working (screen blacks out after a short time) has 3 cameras each of which creates its own file. This is great because you can give the police the file with the accident and not the one of you inside cussing. It creates the files for the amount of time you set so they are not too big. I found the default of 10 min files were around half a GB each. Has a setting if idle for so long it will turn off. lots of other settings such as snapshot if your car is bumped. Video lock if in an accident and a lot of others.CONS: Get the biggest SD card (256?) if want to keep video for more than a few hours. you can adjust the res to make the files smaller if needed though, but keep in mind there are 3 files, one for each camera. took several try's to get date and time to take. not impressed with the night vision. price is not cheap and if you want GPS monitor you pay even more.I have an always on cigarette lighter so I paid for the fuse box cable. It works great and shuts the camera down if my battery drops below 11.7 volts.I do recommend the largest SD card, GPS, and power cord.
Awesome dash cam. Camera quality is superb. I like that the suction cup window mount has the a place to connect the power wire to reduce clutter. The screen size is big enough to see when driving. I also like that I can switch to the rear camera on full screen mode while driving or backing up. The night vision on this cam is far better than any other dash cam I’ve ever owned. The only complaint I have is the ease of transferring the videos from the cam to a computer or my phone. If it had wireless connectivity to your phone to sync with, this camera would be 100% perfect. Due to this I have rated this camera at 4 stars. To retrieve videos you have to either remove the memory card or connect to a computer with a micro usb cord. I’m not too worried about having a GPS on the camera but if you are you can purchase the optional mount with a GPS. Would definitely recommend this dash cam.
Just got a dash came to cover myself for any liability in case of an accident and this camera is perfect for that. Only issue it has is glare from headlights at night, but you can still make out what is going on in the video.
OK I'm thrilled with this dashcam. The video clarity is astounding - even in low light. And it works flawlessly. I really wanted a Dashcam with a rear camera - if I get into an accident it most likely will be from behind and the video would make it much simpler to resolve.I created a sample video that includes short clips from Front, Cabin and rear cameras from both day and night.UnboxingThe unboxing experience is delightful, similar to unboxing an apple product and gave me the initial impression of quality and that Vantrue cares about the customer. Speaking of, the Vantrue representatives are incredibly responsive to questions and really do try to help resolve problems - just look at the reviews and questions.Menuing SystemIt takes a couple of minutes to figure out how to use the buttons to navigate the menu system but once you figure it out its easy enough. The camera has about every option you can think of including exposure control. The LCD display includes a nice set of icons indicating many of the settings (resolution, Mic and GPS on/off, Looping time etc) The options are fairly well documented in a manual but the parking options seem a bit confusing. Also, the manual doesn't always indicate what the default option is (usually the first item).Three things that I'd change in their menuing system. First, you currently select which cameras you want turned on by changing the video resolution (since you get lower resolution with more cameras). I think it would be more obvious if the option was something like 'Select cameras'. Second I think the LCD display should default to turning off after 30 seconds - the current default is to dim the display 50%. Although dimmed I still find the display to be distracting. Finally, the on/off button also turns the IR on/off - i frankly don't know why you would turn IR off and i've accidently pressed more than once.RecordingRecording is slick - it simply works. I've set it up to use just the front and rear cameras (which creates 2 video streams instead of 3). However, the cabin camera uses IR technology to create an excellent video even when it is completely dark outside. The Motion sensor for the parking option works really well. When the camera detects motion it starts to record within about a second and continues until the motion stops. I stood in front of my car and waved and it started recording immediately. Pushing the side of the car hard didn't start the recording, but opening the door must have created enough force to trigger the collision detection to start recording. There are options to adjust the sensitivity but I haven't tried those. Although the motion detection options require constant power, I figured out that one of my car outlets is always on. So, for the rare occasions when I'm concerned about parking, I can just plug the car charger in - note that the LCD turns off when in parking mode.Watching the VideoTo review the video you either need to remove the tiny micro SDXC card or take the camera out and connect it to a USB or HDMI cable. Personally I find it easier to remove the card. I don't plan to spend much time reviewing the videos - I'm mostly interested in the video if something unusual happens or to capture some scenic views while driving.By default Windows doesn't include the codec needed to play the video (they charge .99). I'd suggest getting the free open source VLC player which works wonderfully. The camera creates three separate video streams - one for each camera. The video files are in MP4 format and include an A, B or C appended at the end of each file name to indicate which camera it came from. Each video includes the time/GPS stamp at the bottom. Note that files are only created for the cameras that are turned on.Vantrue created a nice windows and Mac application that merges up the three video streams so you can view them at the same time along with a live map based on the GPS. I'm not sure why, but the video quality through their application is not nearly as good as viewing the video through a native player.Mounting the camerasI was concerned about how to run the wire for the rear camera from the front of my car all the way to the back hatch - it turned out to be very simple. The key is to tuck the wire into the headliner around the windshield and bring it to the door frame. Most modern cars have a thick rubber gasket on the door frame that simply pulls down - you only need it pull the gasket down a few inches. I ran the wire through the front door frame, through the A-pillar and through the rear door frame in about 5 minutes. I then tucked the wire under the headliner until it reached the center of the rear hatch and mounted the rear camera at the top. Be careful though not to stick the camera on any of the rear defroster wires.Pro Tip - don't mount the camera directly under the brake light - mount it a few inches away from the light or else you will get an interesting light show every time you brake as I did.The front camera mount is easily adjustable. The inside camera is part of the main unit and can be independently adjusted vertically. The rear camera can also be adjusted vertically. I've read some reviews where people had trouble with the mount falling. I haven't had any problems but I did have to spit on the suction cup. Also, make sure the suction cup is not sitting on the 'frit' (small black dots at top of windshield - yes I had to look that one up :).Pros- Camera just works (and superb customer support)- Video quality and low light quality with IR- Excellent motion detection options that really workCons- GPS is a separate accessory - for the price I think it should be included- No built in WiFi (mainly for real-time notification of an incident) Realistically though, this could only be done by connecting the device to WiFi from your house or some other nearby place like the Ring doorbell does.
I upgraded from the T2 to this N4. Very easy to install and up and running in 15 minutes. I also purchased the GPS attachment ant the USB to OBD Power cord. It was running perfect for 30 minutes but for some reason the power cord was shutting down the camera, power back on then off again. Amazon shipping a new cable and I hope this fixes the problem. I am now using the cigarette lighter plug in cord to run the camera. The down side is the camera only runs when the car is on but I really like the recording when someone approaches the vehicle. After a couple of months started having issues with the rear camera. The company sent a new rear cable from China and only took a couple of weeks. Now the camera is draining my battery. Great videos, but has reliability issues.
I received the camera few months ago but haven't had a chance to unbox and use. Here is unboxing photos and I'll update as soon as I see how it performs.
this 3 Lens Camera is great. Simultaneous recording for Front, Inside as well as the back of the car. Very user friendly button and interface setup. The quality of the video is great and design is also very user friendly. Awesome product at a reasonable price. A++
As a full time uber driver there is never a dull moment with bad drivers and entertaining customers. This three channel Dash cam is the best I have ever owned. I am finally happy with USEABLE/FINDABLE night vision footage, crisp clear display and images. Sound quality is nice as well. I use a pair of 256 SD cards to swap and dump every other night....Works great. Highly recommended.
Parking mode is not working. Hardwired this dashcam but parking mode is just not working. Tried to contact customer support to claim warranty but they just won't process it and would like you to be part of their engineering department to investigate/troubleshoot the issue asking a lot of things aside from taking the video of the issue when it is already too obvious in the video that the dash cam is defective. Save yourselves the money to buy a different dash cam. NOT THIS ONE!
Havent installed yet, but ordered the kit with the hard wire for 24/7 use and this kit did not come with it.I have had this for almost 4 months now, the rear 3rd camera has never worked, only two cameras record. As of the last week I have been getting overheating issues, and the notification that the sim card needs to be formatted. The front two cameras and the sound work great. Also even with the motion sensor off, the device will still active and save a video when ever the windshield wipers cross the windshield.
This dashcam will not disappoint. Everything about it is amazing. Perfectly reads license plates day and night for front and rear cameras. In-cabin camera quality is top-notch as well.
Vantrue Dash Cam products is a MUST HAVE!!!! I live in Tampa,Florida where almost no one has insurance and crime is on the high end. My Vantrue N4 has kept me safe and has helped with insurance claims since I've had it. I believe every car should have one of these in them. Would keep us honest and safe drivers safer. I will forever have a Vantrue Camera in everyone of my cars for life
This camera is fantastic! It has high quality video from all three cameras; front, rear, and interior. When in 30fps settings, you can make out license plates as you drive by parked cars in the day time. During the night time, it captures great detail front the front video, whether it is light or dark. The rear video is decent when in 1080p during the day, good at night, but not very useful in 720p. Obviously, if an accident were to happen, you would stop and get all that info anyways.I really like that I can switch the screen in the car to show one video large, allowing me to use this as a small backup camera! The interior video is very clear and with such a wide angle, captures everything that happens inside the car and out the side windows. The IR allows you to see clearly in the night, but in grayscale. I found that the video was good in extremely low light, even without the IR lights turned on, leaving it in full color. This pairs well with the GPS suction mount, which adds $22 to the price. The speed is quite accurate and updates quickly as you move.Parking mode also requires the hardwire kit, but it seems pretty straightforward. I will review that feature in the hardwire kit. This also doesn’t come with a micro SD card. So, in addition to this camera, which I was given to do a product testing, I purchased the gps accessory, the hard wire kit, and a 256gb Samsung SD card.
Bought this got out car. Its pretty awesome. One thing is how it came. I am a little upset about the box it came in being smashed. This was not cheap so for the money I belive everything should be 100 percent. I'm worried that because the box was so smashed that the actual product is damaged. But so far it's okay. We are hooking the rest of it up today. The camera is very excellent and I dont know about the back camera yet. Also bought the 3 things that are frequently purchased together. received the suction mount which I thought was a dash mount. No it's the window one. Well it already comes with a window one. So returning it today. So overall we like it. But the box that the product came in was smashed. But the box it was shipped in there was nothing wrong with it. So they sent us one that was smashed and damaged. Not happy about that at all. If I have some lk imd of problem with the actual product. I will be returning it.
I am glad I went with this dash cam. The videos are super clear. I have already upgraded to the GPS mount and hardwire kit...so, to save you time for sure add both of these to your cart. The cig lighter plug was ok, but I wanted the hardwired kit so I did not have wires near my console in the car. Great product especially at this price point. I would highly suggest this dash cam.

So disappointed that this camera doesn’t have Bluetooth or WiFi I’m probably going to return it did notice til I got it. So expensive to not have such an easy feature.
I purchased this unit and plugged it into my laptop to format the SD card. After 8 minutes, yes I let it record, it ran hot. I'd also like to note that just for testing purposes I only had a class 1 32 gb SD card in the camera. Please provide feedback if you think this could be the reason? Yes, I'm aware that it will need more of a high endurance 128-256 sd card and am in the process of ordering it but still wonder if I need to send this unit back for a new one.
I bought the dash cam a month ago and just a few days ago a car hit me when I was parked. This was at night. The person hit and run and I quickly got the footage off the camera. I was able to capture the license plate to record to police but it took sometime to get a clear view on the plate. I had to open the video in Premiere Pro and 400% zoom in. Night vision is not the best since lights flare like someone with astigmatism. There were some noise for the rear camera in the night too. It is great is lighted areas. Overall the camera is great because it still did the job on finding the hit and run car in a very poorly lit area.
Overpriced pile of junk. Mine completely died after few months of use. Be prepared to have to send a video showing the camera is dead and doesn’t respond to any suggested “fix’s “, so an engineer can study the video and determine it won’t work. Your 100% satisfaction guarantee is they will waste your time and only send you another defective camera if that. Meanwhile your vehicle is vulnerable to everything. Don’t waste your money!!
Camera is a very lightweight plastic feel to it all the video reviews made it sound like it was heavy like it was metal but no very lightweight and plastic feels like in a car accident it would fall and break. Good 3 camera system I like all the view points can buy a SD card from Samsung that's $20 saved building your own bundle is better than buying the bundle with everything in it just won't all arrive at the same time. I do enjoy the usb c technology which is why I bought it no other dash cam supports usb c and that's what your paying for is the usb c technology and the 3 camera system.
I recently purchased a new van, after having the Vanture N2 and enjoying it, I was looking to buy another N2 but saw that there was an N4 that supported triple channels.Pros:-Supports triple channels. It's great that the dash cam allows me to record the front, the inside, and the rear. It really helps me to feel confident if anything were to happen.-The resolution is clear during the day and night. The rear records with a nice wide angel lens that allows seeing the entire rear. With a single channel, it will support recording at 3840x2160 at 30 fps. With dual channels, it'll support 2560 for the front and 1920 in the rear.I normally use the triple channels recording at 1440 front, 1080 interior, and 1080 rear at 30 fps. The camera saves each channel to its own file.-Install of the front and rear of the camera was quick and easy. If you need help learning how to tuck the wires into your weather strips, do a quick search on youtube.-The main camera has a display to easily view what's being recorded or review records.-The controls of the camera are pretty easy and straight forward to use. There's a button to quickly cycle through the different channels as the main view and another button to quickly disable the microphone. I personally like to keep the microphone on.-The microphone easily picks up audio, especially my kids in the back of the car.Con:-My only con right now, and it is a personal preference, is I prefer a rear mirror mount vs a suction cup mount.
I purchased two of these cameras about a year ago. I recently got into an accident (we rear-ended another car). We were very disappointed to find out that even though the blue light was flashing and everything seemed fine all this time, the camera did not record the event, and has not been recording ANY VIDEO for months, and the date/time had reset to 1/1/2016. I immediately went and checked my other dash can in our second car and the exact same thing was happening there! Please note that we did purchase the memory card that Vantrue recommended to us (Samsung EVO 32GB).Even worse, Vantrue does not respond to emails for technical support after repeated attempts to get assistance for this. Can NOT recommend this product!!
I really like this. Picture quality is miles ahead of my 3 year old dash cam. The 3 cameras are nice even though I never have anybody in the back seat. I will have to route the rear camera wire better when I get time. I can take it to my work truck easily enough, the suction mount design is better than the kind I am used to, seems more secure.Hopefully I will never need the video for anything but it is nice to know I have it. I plan on getting the hardwire kit for the parking detection feature which I really like the idea of.I can't wait to put in my Jeep for when I take it offroad next time.
Absolutely with every penny, however if there was an improvement i would make is just a little bigger viewing screen. Cables are long enough to tuck away. Currently using lighter plug but intend on hard wiring to get the parking feature to function. I will also add i have not yet reviewed any footage but from what I've seen thus far I expect no problems, if I do I will repost any negative results.
This is my first dash cam. After much investigation I got the The Vantrue N4 with GPS, So far it has been a great choice! Great quality, great picture! Very simple and very clean hardwire installation, (all wires were easily "tucked" into weather stripping and headliner, looks like a factory install!). The one thing I wish they did was upgraded firmware before shipment, although that was also simple, just download .bin file to Micro SD Card and then start camera, it automatically upgrades! It would also be nice if it had a top of GPS connector for rear camera hook-up, with out a wire hanging from side of camera, but oh well I'm still happy. I also purchased a "Battery Starter for Car, 2500A 22000mAh Portable Car Jump Starter 12V Auto Battery Booster Pack with USB Quick Charge 3.0, Type-C, (for cell phone charging also.) ", for just in case dash cam drains battery while using dash cam in parking mode, (they supposedly shut off unit IF it drains battery too low, hopefully I won't need to use this!) GREAT JOB!************** AS OF 12/01/2020 My Dash cam has stopped working. It will not record and the rear camera does not work. YES I reformatted my Samsung PRO Endurance 128GB 100MB/s (U1) MicroSDXC Memory Card. I am exchanging for another unit, hopefully it will work!
I am very pleased that I spent a little more than I expected to purchase this dash cam. It is well made and the videos are beautiful, with a clear picture. I was quite surprised (happily) to see how small the dash cam is - very unobtrusive on your windshield. The installation was easy. Definitely recommend this product.
Having 3 cameras means you can have full coverage of your full sized van/suv.Stay safe and protect yourself against damage to your vehicle and scammers with this camerapicture is crisp clear and works great day or night!
So far, I have been using this a couple of weeks now. I cannot yet comment on image quality, as I haven't been able to open the files on my laptop. The format isn't recognized, so still trying to figure it out.
Product impression: It does not look cheap. It’s well built and the outside feels like rubberized. I left it in a car through very hot summer and still no issue.
Very good resolution: See the photos. Both interior and exterior resolutions are good. Interior of my car is black leather and the person is wearing dark blue jacket but the camera still shows a good image. I redacted the face but details are pretty good. Vehicle license plate numbers can be read on 1080P (outside)/1080P(inside). The menu also offers a higher resolution but then it does not offer dual camera views.
Easy setup: Good suction cup/holder is very steady and not shaky. Well built, plug and play as the factory setting is already good for most users. Menu and buttons are simple and easy to understand. Good user interface.
Excellent/responsive customer: Customer support by email is very responsive and genuinely interested in resolving a customer’s concerns and issues. It generally takes 1 or 2 days to response but they do get back to you. They also don’t hesitate to offer exchange a defective dash cam under warranty after trouble shootings.
Optional GPS: Quick fix GPS antenna and enables speed of a vehicle stamps on video files.
Suggestion: Use good quality micro SD cards made for frequent write/delete like SanDisk High Endurance Video Monitoring. Check once in a while to make sure the files are not corrupted. Reformat every 1 or 2 weeks. Keep one extra SD card as backup. Throw away and get a new one if SD cards keep corrupted or turns on/off the dash cam. Also, always use OEM cable and charger. Connect USB directly to the dash cam rather than through the holder or GPS antenna if you are having any power issue. Update firmware only if necessary so that you know if the dash cam experiences some issues you can spot the issue.
