Update: camera issue is solved with firmware update and multiple memory card format, but I am still always looking for the flashing red light to make sure that is recording when I am driving or when I start my car.
Love the dashcam. As worked perfectly while driving, parking mode is awesome. Sensitive enough to come in when a cat jumps on the hood. My only problem, and the reason for the lowered stars, is when I get into my vehicle, after it’s been in parking mode all night. I start my vehicle, unit comes on has the (P) for parking mode on screen. Then 3-5 seconds later it says “goodbye” and proceeds to restart it self. Really more of an annoyance than anything.
The camera is well built and is light. The video quality is good and having three different camera angels is cool. I hard wired to my vehicle so it has constant power. The cables were easy to install as well.My customer service experience was good as well. My rear camera connector accidentally broke during installation. I e-mailed their customer service and they got back to me with in a day. Sure they asked a few questions, but ultimately they sent me a new rear camera and cable. Everything works fine now. Just wanted to date my customer service experience.
Memory card doesn’t work doesn’t matter how many new one I buy it , really disappointed with that , basically I have a camera that doesn’t record , no use
This is the most amazing dash cam I've seen. Packed full of features and super easy to install. The only thing I didn't much care for is Amazon suggested a bundle of the camera, a suction cup mount, and an SD Card. Well, the camera already came with a suction cup mount so I have a duplicate that's not needed and the SD card they recommended is one that the camera maker says "NOT" to use. I'm using it anyway and so far, no problems. I've had it installed in my truck for 3 months now and it's amazingly easy to set up and use. Buy it! You will be happy you did.
Camera works well except there's no application available to monitor video recordings on your Phone. The 12v plug-in power option is worthless in my car. My car 12v outlet shuts off when car is off, therefore turning off camera. I have to adjust time and date every single time I drive the car. The camera must be wired directly to battery for proper operation. I had to buy the hardwire kit sold seperately. All in all, this camera kit would be worth it if sold under 100. But they are selling this camera like if it atleast had wifi capabilities. Totally not worth the price.
I used to have a camera facing just forward, a cheap one that died after 2 years.I've upgraded to another VanTrue that also record the internal of the car but I felt it was not enough. When I saw that there is another VanTrue that can also record the rear view, I immediately ordered it.Picture quality during day time is awesomeAt night it depends - with street light it's OK but at total darkness with just the car beams on it's limited.Internal camera is awesome day and light as there are IR strobes that light the whole interiorInstallation was very easy, all accessories were included in the package and I was able to route all cables in the ceiling and thru the side door.I wish the rear camera would had a wider field of view,in my pickup truck it's not enough.
Keep failing off even i clean everytime. It’s a little dangerous when you driving and the dash cam fail off like that. If anything happen camera will not record it.
This is a great camera system for those wanting front back and inside. I wish I just got the front and back though, because I really don't need the inside. The only drawback is that the degree of fisheye lense on the front camera makes it difficult to read license plates and stuff of vehicles infront of you. The motion sensor is a little strong too, but its better than a weak sensor
I was hit from behind and the other vehicle did not stop. In the accident, this camera got disconnected from its power cable. When I pulled the memory card, it said that the last file was corrupted. This camera works as long as you are not involved in an accident.
I did a decent amount of research before deciding to buy this camera and I’m so glad I got this one! Definitely worth the investment to protect your property!!
We have been using this dashcam for about 6 months now. Initially it sat on my desk because with kids, work, daily life etc. the idea of installing a dashcam properly and hiding the wires seemed like a daunting task for a weekend project. I was really surprised how easy installation was. Everything is included and the wire for the rear was actually long enough for our Ford Expedition EL.The quality is amazing (this is my first dashcam) and the menu system is very easy to navigate. Very simple setup and learning curve. We have not experienced any of the issues mentioned in some other reviews. The SD card brand we use is Samsung, no issues, and I'm not sure why the other well known brands would cause problems with the dash cam but I can't speak to that myself. My main concern is the cam being targeted for theft while parking in public, so sometimes I put up a sunshade even when not necessary. Not sure if this had been an issue for other dashcam owners but it obviously has nothing to do with this brand.I haven't captured anything like an accident yet but do keep some of the footage. I will update this review if the cam captures an accident or something out of the ordinary.I personally would recommend this dash cam. I too have interacted with the manufacturer when I had a question and they were very quick and responsive to help. A definite recommended product for me.
I'm not sure if mine is defective or if I'm doing something wrong?I hate this thing. My friend talked it up to me and after seeing all the reviews I thought it would be worth the investment, but so far its given me nothing but problems. I have the gsensor set to high and it literally doesn't save any of my videos, like it doesn't think anything is happening? Sometimes I'll purposely hit my car, like slapping the hood, just to see if it will save the video and nope. There was even one time where my car was stuck in the snow so I had my landlord come help me out, but he said there was nowhere to hook a strap to my car. So he got his bobcat and physically pushed my car out of the snow. It took awhile and it eventually cracked my front bumper. You would think that this is something the camera would store in it's protected files, due to all the hits to the car from the machine. Still, nothing was saved. As if the incident never even happened. What's the point of the camera if it's not gonna save anything to the sd card?Second issue: I also have parking mode enabled which doesn't work. It never notices anybody passing by even if they've hit the car. It's pointless. Yes, it's installed correctly. I read the manual and all the instructions over and over again. The biggest issue I'm having now is the camera keeps shutting itself off and back on, and isn't recording anything. It's literally just an annoying, beeping decoration at this point.I don't know why my camera is having so many issues, but I'm not a fan.I also didn't realize it doesn't have cloud storage, so I can't have the videos directly uploaded to the cloud. Like, if someone steals the camera out if my car, I'm SOL. The thief will have the footage of who stole it. That's not going to help me. Imagine someone smashed my windows and steals the stuff out of my car, and then proceeds to steal the camera. I'll have no idea who did it.I use to have the Nexar camera in the past, it at least had cloud storage. I liked this one because it has 3 different views-- front, rear and interior. But ultimately this camera is pretty much useless, right now. It doesn't store my videos to the protected files like it's suppose to. It doesn't sense motion in parking mode. It doesn't sense any collisions. It literally doesn't do anything it's suppose to do and now I'm stuck with it because I didn't return it on time.
I just installed camera and within 3-hour I witnessed an accident at a gas station; I turned the video over to the parties and the guilty party was caught red handed I gives me piece of mind that I have that third eye watching over things
Worked well for about 1 month. Then the rear camera view started flickering before ultimately not even showing up anymore. When the rear camera footage was still being recorded at least, the files weren't even viewable on VLC - either not being written properly or corrupted somehow. After a month, the camera would stop and start recording un prompted while driving, so my card was filled with dozens of scattered 30 sec to 3 minute clips over the course of one drive. Eventually there started to be gaps in time where nothing was recorded at all. I decided to reformat my card but all my problems persisted. Reset the camera via the button on the side, fiddled with different settings, nothing ultimately fixed the problems I've been experiencing. Currently the rear camera doesn't appear to work at all, recording only occurs for three seconds after boot up and stops. Picture quality was decent, and the 3 channel feature was a selling point for me but it doesn't even work anymore. I may try to find a replacement, but if I'm out of warranty I'll probably go with a blackvue instead.
Great dashcam bundle, high quality. I strongly suggest this to ride share drivers as a safety measure. It is very easy to use and navigate in the menu. Setup was a breeze. I have not tried all the features yet and not setup the back camera yet so I may update my review after I complete the setup. So far so good I am happy with this dash cam.
This dash cam is great, except for no matter what storage card is used (including the suggested VanTrue card) the camera will state that there is a formatting issue and to reformat the memory card each time you start the vehicle. This defeats the purpose of the camera if it does not record. Other than this, the camera has a nice picture, and its great that it has all three views, but it's basically worthless. Seller, please reach out.
Great camera for the purpose, however the SD card slot is poorly positioned and there is too much space between the slot and molding. I lost an sd card because of this space between the slot and molding. So now, even though camera is mounted, I am turning it completely just to install the card each time I take it out.
Wish I had gotten this a long time ago. Works great and dont have to.turn on or off. Would have caught someone that hit my car. The pictire quality is great, better than expected
Good dash cam, there's no "super capacitor" as they claim though. As soon as it loses power (intentionally or not) it shuts off. Dash cams that have a cap or battery record until the internal power runs out, which is good if you run into a gas station or something. I have to give it 4 stars for the false advertising, but everything else from packaging to quality is perfect.Edit:About a month later and the power adapter stopped working! Now I have to hardwire it in because I'm not snaking another power line through the dash panels. I thought it was good quality, now let's see how long before the cameras fail.
I’ve had this camera for only 3 months and it’s already dying on me. Which sucks because I actually really like it! It’s small and easy to install. Cables are more than long enough to reach the rear camera (I have a 2017 Nissan Rouge). The only reason I’m giving this such low stars is because this camera is already failing. When I’m driving for more than 30 minutes the camera will frequently just randomly turn of. And it can be distracting while you’re driving to just keep having it turn on and off. And God forbid I’m in a car accident or get pulled over (the only reason I bought this) I can’t even confidently rely on this to catch the event because who knows if it’s actually going to on or off at that time. Won’t be very reliable evidence. Very annoying for how expensive it was and the fact it’s only a few months old :/
As a dash cam it's good for value for the money. Video quality is great. Wide angle. But problem is: it keeps falling off the windshield. The suction mount is simply not powerful enough to hold it there. It fell off my car windshield 3 times after around 1 month of staying there without falling. Now I'm planning to use some kind of adhesive to keep it stuck there. Sad.
The video quality is good. The user interface and features are fine (but could use a little tweaking). The camera, along with their hardwiring kit, were not hard to install or use. Unfortunately, there have been some issues. The first one I ordered started getting white lines across the screen and then reboot looping. It was returned. The second one, subsequent to the expiration of the return window, sometimes has a black screen when powered on which renders it non-functional until it's restarted. Luckily, it doesn't happen very often (yet). But now on to the biggest issue. The suction cup for this camera is garbage. It's far inferior to that of my GPS or phone holder. Observe the disparity in surface contact between my phone holder and the N4 in the included images. It simply doesn't make/keep a good seal, and has fallen off of the windshield more than once. In the second image, which depicts the N4 alone, I had just put it back on the windshield after falling and the seal is already going bad.I have to wrap the camera's power cords around my rearview mirror so the mirror catches the camera when it falls. And it WILL fall. I've come out to my car multiple times to find the camera hanging from the mirror. I'm not a fan of suction cup mounts for dash cams for this reason. They're a hassle and obstruct windshield reflectors. This camera also desperately needs a polarized front lens cover, as sun glare and windshield reflection is a not insignificant issue.I have to say I expected MUCH BETTER at this price point. I was willing to spend more for better quality, but have had mixed results with the N4. It's usually good and reliable, but has intermittent issues.
Absolutely amazing dash cam, I bought this 3 cam unit specifically because I started driving with Uber full time and as you can imagine since you’re reading this it does indeed serve as necessary added layer of security. To be honest while it is black and white I’ve only used the IR night vision mode because of the crisp detail in low light so I can’t comment on the low light quality but overall and IR mode are 10/10 and very clear. Audio is also very good to my surprise. Passengers are very receptive and usually make positive comments if they notice the camera saying things like that’s really smart or I’m glad you have one, it even makes me feel safer. Thankfully nothing serious on my end but in the short time I’ve had this camera it has definitely been on the ready in the event things got more serious on the road or even while parked with the car on. The only thing I wish this camera had considering the price and the fact it’s 2021 was an app with a cloud storage for clips/editing features
Probably one of the best investments I’ve made. A little on the pricey side but could not wish for better quality. Recording is flawless, bight vision clarity is beyond what I expected. Wish I had brought it sooner. Definitely get the hard wire kit! Takes 10 minutes to get everything cleaned and ready to use.
Okay... I decided on the VANTRUE N4..... and I am glad I did. picture quality is amazing. The colors are bright and vivid with no pixel distortion and no motion distortion....Great buy.One dislike.....there is not a rearview mirror mount..yet.. ;-)
I did so much research before buying a dash cam and for some reason once I saw this one I kept going back to this one and so far I do not regret it I'm actually thinking of getting another one for my parents. The picture quality is great and the 3 cameras are awesome to have for a piece of mind.
It only continuously records when front camera is selected. When you turn on all 3, or front+rear it stops recording within a minute, even when you press record button, even after firmware update. So why did buy this expensive dashcam if I can only record front view?
The company makes u buy their SD card, the camera setup is much more complicated than it needs to be. I live in the USA and it still shows me in London UK. Once figured out the quality is excellent. But it’s a hassle...
Dropped rating to 1 because not only is their customer service terrible but you either get way to many events or not enough at all.I use collusion and motion sensing, g sensor at most sensitivity setting.I get videos when it rains, but just got sideswiped in the parking lot and got NOTHING.Trash product.TL;DR - Get this only if you really want the inside cam, otherwise there are better and cheaper options even from vantrue.Updated after using more. Dropped three stars for the following reason.1. Do not expect ANYWHERE near 24 hour monitoring. I got a brand new 2021 Jeep Compass. If you setup motion and collosion your battery will hit the 12v within a few hours max. With collosion only you can probably get a day easier. So they should drop their statement from 24 hour monitoring to "Maybe some monitoring sometimes". Highly recommend getting something like a Blackvue battery pack if you really want to get monitoring (at which point you might as well go with their dash cam as well).2. Customer service is SO slow to respond. You are looking at 3-5 days return time on issues and most responses are asking you to do something else that they should just have an FAQ for so you can do everything on your own before contacting.3. There are so many settings and NO where to understand what they do so all my negatives might be due to user error but they dont have anywhere that can help so thats their fault.I am going to for sure get the blackvue battery pack, and probably the cam as well. To bad I am past the return point for this.Old statments below: Tl;DRThis dash cam is a must have for people who want to keep an eye on their cars.More to come but here's a gist- Great Picture- Easy to setup (google for tips)- Provides great visual coverageCons- Wish the hardwire kit was just part of the product, its worth it since its got 24 hour parkingMore review stuff to come as I use it longer.
I don't know where to start with how wonderful dashcam is. The picture quality is beyond amazing. I mean when you see it on the camera think so it's going to be small and is going to be tiny, but no it is large and detailed and not pixelated and so clear and so crisp. I mean I could not be happier with this combo. The back camera is great, the inside camera is great and the front facing camera is great. I mean this thing is worth the money you pay for it. It's quality and is amazing and I'm so happy that I purchased it. If you are looking for a great dashcam that is going to give you Crystal Clear and Crisp pictures and recordings this is it. I would definitely recommend this dashboard camera combo if you're looking for one.
I bought this dashcam after I bought my 1st N2S 2 weeks ago, I installed one in my truck the other on my wife's car both are excellent I like the picture quality is very clear and also the night vision, and yes I recommend this product.
I've been using my N4 for about 4 months now and I Love this amazing Dashboard camera. I went on a 21 day Caribbean vacation in December, I rented a vehicle there and attached my N4, for the next 21 days I recorded gorgeous stunning 4K quality videos, one can even pick up license plates. This camera has a ton of features, everything you will ever need: wide angle lens, fantastic night vision, high quality 4K video, easy to mound/dismount, image stability, parking sensor, etc... I purchased a 256GB Vantrue SD car, this way I can leave the SD card in the dash cam for a week or so before it starts overwriting. It's perfect for your daily commute, vacation, leisure driving, etc.. I've added night video for your reference.
Camera worked when i connected the cable to the port on the unit directly, but did not work when the cable was connected to the windshield mount port. Cannot use it with the cable connected directly to the camera, as that's also the port for the rear cam connection, and the camera loses power as soon as the windshield mount is connected. Disappointing to say the least! This is a freaking $250 camera! These quality issues should not exist!
Best dash cam so far. Had an issue with another unit not liking the memory card but contacted Amazon and they quickly sent me a new one. Been working great so far and no more issues.
The perfect dashcam. This camera shows perfectly in daytime and most definitely at night. You will not be disappointed also it has a rear camera where you can place in your rear windshield.
**UPDATE**So I never got around to returning this before the return window closed. Bought it in January and the rear camera already went out... didn't even last 6 months! DO NOT BUY.ORIGINAL REVIEW:I really wanted to keep this camera but it just lacks too much! No WiFi, no Bluetooth, no gps! You have to buy the gps module for an extra $25. Then I installed it and plugged it to an always on power socket and it killed my car battery. Now as I research more it seems you have to buy a hardwire kit just to keep it from killing your battery! Another $16! Lots of hassle and to end it all if I want to watch the video I have to pull out the sd card.Like I said, wanted to love it, it’s a decent camera overall, but lacks way too much in option and requires a lot of hassle to own and operate as intended.
The camera is fantastic but the charging cable where you connect it to the vehicle freaking broke so quick in less than 2 weeks. It’s like lose, I have to glue it together
OVERVIEWI received my Vantrue N4 DashCam a day earlier than expected. This is a very high quality dashcam. It is lightweight and very well built. It nearly provides 360 degree coverage from exterior front to inside to the exterior rear with the included 3rd channel camera that you'll mount to the rear window. As you can see from the included video and pictures, the picture clarity is outstanding, day and night. I’ve owned several other brands of dashcams. They did not match up to what the Vantrue offers. This is hands down the best dashcam I’ve owned. To that end, I will certainly continue to purchase Vantrue products as long as they continue producing devices with this level of quality. This is definitely the dashcam to buy.THE PROSThe camera allows for plenty of customization to meet varying needs. For the most part, once you go through the settings once or twice, you'll be good from there one unless you feel the need to tweak the settings. Perhaps, you want to change from 1, 3 or 5 minute clips.Maybe you'll decide you don't want to record what's going on inside the vehicle so you'll enhance the imagery for the exterior front and rear. Your choice! The point is, the camera allows for it all. Some of the other features include the ability to switch the view of the 2.5 inch onboard LCD to make any one of the 3 views the primary. You can keep the screen on or set it to go off after any one of the preset timeout periods have been selected. Additionally, you canThe microphone is very sensitive and picks up quite well. The device supports up to a 256GB Micro SD Card which is sufficient for more than a full day of recording even when using all three channels. It really depends on how much you drive and the resolution settings chosen. I drive a lot hence the need for this camera.I've owned the Vantrue N2 Pro, the N4 is predecessor, since July 2019. I've thoroughly enjoyed using it. I've hardwired it into both, my car and my truck.I will be purchasing the hardwire kit for the N4 to allow me to hardwire it into my car (Primary vehicle). I will keep my N2 Pro in the truck as I will not have to swap it between vehicles now that I have the N4.SUGGESTIONSI don't have any issues or concerns with regard to the Vantrue N4 or even the N2 Pro. However, I do have a couple suggestions for possible enhancements in the future.1) I'd suggest there be a purchase option offered to include getting the hardwire kit at a "discounted price" when purchased with the camera or bundle it with the camera for a slight upcharge but discounted prices as compared to buying the hardwire kit and camera separately.2) Perhaps, a future version of the camera could include remote accessibility3) Possibly allow for larger capacity Micro SD Cards… at a minimum, 512GB.
I’ve only had it a week, but this is my experience so far:Installation was simple to get it setup, mounted, connected, and temporarily installed (wires visible). After testing it for a day with a generic 8g sd card I had laying around and being happy with the recording angles, making sure recordings were saved, etc. I installed it properly by hiding all the wire through the cars headliner, side trims, floor panels, and plugging it into the cigarette lighter inside my cars center armrest which gave me a clean looking installation. The length of the wire for both front and rear camera was enough to get it hidden properly in my sedan (Honda Accord).I then installed a Samsung 256 GB SD Card which I got at my local Best Buy because I wanted to be able to return/exchange it quickly if it didn’t work with the camera. However it worked with no issues, I went for a drive and verified all recordings were saved and were of good quality.I went on a small road trip the following day (334 mile round trip) with a total drive time worth of at least 6 hours. The cameras worked with no issues the whole time and the following day I checked the footage. I was glad to find that all footage from all 3 cameras (front, inside, & rear) were present and had not even filled my SD CARD halfway. Video quality is great although it’s hard to see details from the dash cam itself, so I’d connect it to a computer or tv for that.Files are easy to access and manage on the laptop, although playing the footage on my laptop (chromebook running Windows 8) made it look choppy. I found it was an issue with my laptop and thankfully not the footage or files. I was excited to find a way around that though by connecting the dash cam directly to a tv using a HDMI to Micro HDMI cable ($15 at Best Buy). This lets you view the footage on a much bigger screen anyway making it easier to see details and quality of the footage without any issue.I am unable to give any insight on the parking mode as I keep my car inside of my garage, and I did not want to hardwire it to constant power so I do not use it. My main reason for choosing this dash cam were the 3 camera system and the quality of video from all 3 cameras.. It is excellent in that aspect! The super capacitor instead of a lithium battery was also a deciding factor since I live in Arizona where temperatures inside of a car are no joke.I am satisfied so far and will update this review if anything changes or if I capture anything of interest on the dash cam!
This N4 dash cam is a very solid upgrade from my old N2 pro from Vantrue. I have always wanted a dash cam that also has a rear camera footage and this N4 does. It has great picture quality and couldn't have asked for a better one.
I installed it in October and end of January had an accident, I was shocked that I found all recorded files in January was zero kilobytes.!!As well through previous moth as December has some file are zero kb.Also the parking mood wasn't working properly while I switched it on.I was disappointed.I can't say it's a bad dash cam but I couldn't find it when needed.I had bought two on the time, so I replaced it.I will check the other one I might was unlucky with my 1st dash cam.
This cam is worth it, quality of Mic, video, and video area coverage is unbeatable. I was able to wire it within my 2020 Palisade easily by tucking the cables. No regrets, but I wish it had some of the app options other cams have or easier remote transfer.
This is a review of my camera I just recently got it and have it hardwired I rate it a 2.5 it’s a good camera but there are definitely some negatives to this camera. I have it hardwired professionally so I can use parking mode. Rear camera can’t see through factory rear tint you can see but not so good at night in day it will work but night barely work. Also no app for me to look on my phone so you have to take out the as card that’s sold seperate and go put on computer and do some sort of downloading I won’t do that unless it’s absolutely necessary like a accident or something I just can’t see me going to computer to mess with it so that basically is lame cause I want it on my phone to send to people like if I witness something cool it will be a hassle like if your on side of road and want to send it you can’t. You can look at it on camera but if it’s hardwired it will be stuck on your dash and you can’t move it unless you unplug it soon as you unplug it the device will turn off so that’s sucks again you have to reach over and it’s not easy on my vehicle once again not a good quality. The gps is on the suction cup mount sold speratlely as well it’s not expensive or do I need it so I’m ok with that. Also the parking mode sucks for example I have yet to pick up any type of alert so if if some one was lurking around my vehicle and I’m in a store or something there is no alert to my phone to tell me so it’s basically useless I also found that the parking mode doesn’t even work I have the most recent firmware downloaded again. Another negative quality is that if some one was lurking around my vehicle and the parking mode actually worked soon as I would get in my vehicle there would be no motion Alert or anything special to tell yo it hay your vehicle motion was detected so that’s lame to. I paid to have it hard wired and had to buy a special wire for 20 from the company as well. Also the parking mode does nothing another example would be you go into a store and the guy steals your whole camera with your sd card on it and you will have no camera and no footage as well I paid to have it professionally installed I bought camera because I thought it would be the best one cause it was 250 others are 100 so I thought would at least have a phone app to share videos Super lame I will just keep it for accident purpose only overall I wouldn’t buy this camera again also another negative will be that you get pulled over and the cop tells you to turn your car off and now your camera power won’t work you can go touch the camera and power button and still won’t power on unless your car is on so that’s lame to so if you pump gas don’t shut your car off can’t ever be to careful I hope this review helps you I’m writing this 100 honest oh a positive is it’s easy to use on the dash simple buttons so that’s a positive
After I got hit by an elderly man and the insurance said it was 50/50 fault I knew I had to get a way to make sure everything gets recorded. I also drive with Uber so it also makes me feel safer when I drive.Camera quality is great! Quite simple to install you just have to find a way to deal with all the remaining cable left if you have a small car. Took me about 2 and a half hours to install.Bought a Samsung 256GB card and the camera even has the option to format the sd card in settings since they are not compatible.I still haven’t used the parking mode or motion detection mode but I’m sure it’ll work perfectly.Once the vehicle starts the camera starts and automatically starts recording. You don’t have to worry about having to hit play or pausing. The camera that faces the inside records everything beautifully and the night vision is just fine.Overall I’m completely satisfied. I was a little sketchy about buying it first but after you get hit by another car trust me you’ll want to buy a dash cam. I also got the 3 year protection plan because the cam is a little expensive so it’s better to be safe.
The best 2k dashcam in addition it has two 1080p cameras. This is my third dashcam thus far I love this one the best. I've been searching for a long while on dashcams and Vantrue N4 dominates the wide range of various ones on the lookout. I was delighted in the simplicity of the installation and the overall design of the unit to my vehicle was a breeze. I have parking mode on and movement recognition on. This hasn't depleted the battery for my vehicle and I have it at the most elevated setting for the g-sensor. Night vision is incorporated for the inside and it works very well around evening time both inside the vehicle and outside. I don't actually have significant cons at this gadget other than the cost since this unit works best in the event that it was designed in(it be pleasant in the event that it accompanied the pack) offers a GPS add-on that ought to have been incorporated yet sold independently. Because of the cost of the dashcam($250) however other than that, it doesn't have an inward battery, yet all things considered, it has a capacitor that can take high temperature because of high-temperature days and won't harm it. With everything taken into account, I would strongly suggest this camera.
Video is clearer compared to others. Very necessary to have driving. Easily determined I was not at fault with this! Though the camera took a hit. I wish there was a better grip on the windshield.
Brought this dash cam after recent crack on my subaru outback wind shield. I wasn’t sure if windshield crack happened while i was driving or while i parked. After quite a bit research this seems to be promising dash cam with 3 cameras. In general i don’t read instructions, as usual this was also pretty easy to setup except while mounting i struggled a while as i didn't know how to mount the suction cup. Some of the cool features1.high quality videos - usually i use my go pro for road trips, hence forth i can use the videos from the dash cam with both front view and cabin view as well.2. Nice LCD display - I went wrong couple of times thinking its a touch display3. Long cables- plenty of cables to tuck in along with wind shield to the lower dash4. Cabin Camera- i think its helpful while doing ride share, but the video clarity is pretty good. Some nice to have features- having thin/ flat cables would have been nice2. Some wireless capabilities to access the videos from cell phone without needing to remove the memory card.3. motion/contact sensor to record videos while parked.Overall its pretty good as a dash cam and it does its job.
I just got the N4 and was able to give it a good spin during a road trip with the family. The video quality is second to none. The audio pick up is also incredibly strong. What I really like about it, is that out of the box it just works so well. The install experience was probably 5 minutes and ten max for rear camera, which needs to be pulled through the inner lining of the car. I absolutely love the peace of mind of having this 3-channel camera when traveling. But I what most appreciate are the stunning videos and photos that allow me and my family to preserve some really fun and sweet moments on road trips. A great buy for sure!
just a heads up. The GPS mount for the N2 is not a correct fit for the N4. Although it can be forced to the point it works, they redesigned the new product to encourage a new GPS mount purchase. I was disappointed with this, but as noted, it _can_ be made to work, and I did. I plan to use a Dremel on the mount to accommodate easy on and off of the dash cam. Also the optional direct wire cable for the N2 has the older USB 1 connector on it. The N4 comes with a USB C cable for a cigarette lighter. So a new direct wire cable with USB C is required for the N4... unless you use the old GPS mount like I am.
I used to use the previous generation of this camera, Vantrue N2. It still works, but I've been wanting to also have a rear cam to catch if someone did something stupid and hit me from behind. That's when I saw this latest addition to their dash cam line, and this one comes with both front and rear cam.The picture and video quality is still as good as before. and even though my rear window is tinted quite dark, the video still comes out pretty nicely.Overall I'm really happy with this purchase, and most likely will give the older N2 dash cam to my sister or something. Would really recommend this to others!
Installation is easy, though of course a lot of that depends on your vehicle. I opted for the optional ODB hardwire kit to provide constant power to the cameras. I have a Chrysler Pacifica and was able to install the cameras and route the wires in the headliner and weather stripping in about an hour. The only visible cables are the ones from the top of the camera to the headliner, and the small length for the rear camera that loops down to allow for the hatch to open.Picture quality is very good, though I wish there was an option for higher framerates. 30 fps is the max no matter how you configure resolution or which of the 3 cameras are active. Very clear videos both day and night, and you can choose to have IR illumination for the cabin camera. The only complaint I have is the suction cup mount isn't very good. No matter how well I cleaned and prepped the cup and window, the longest it would hold would be a day or so. So I'd recommend buying the adhesive mount if you get this camera.
This camera has exceptional video quality and I’ve enjoyed having it so far. I had a minor issue with a cord but it was resolved quickly with customer service via Instagram the same day I messaged them about it. If you’re looking for a high camera to cover both the front and rear of your vehicle, I would highly recommend the Vantrue N4!
I purchased this product with the hardware kit. And let me tell you The picture quality and the ability to record the rear view is amazing. The set up was easy. The wires were hiding for a perfect install. Very pleased with the product and the customer serviceHighly recommend
I purchased this dash cam due to the positive reviews I've seen, after countless of research. The camera does it all, records the front, inside, and the back of the vehicle. I've installed it into my Honda Clarity. I've attached a memory card 128GB memory card to it so that I can record as much as I can. The quality of the camera is great displaying up to 4K. The angle of the cameras cover a wide angle ensuring protection from all sides. Although the price cause some hesitation, I'd have to say, it was a great purchase that I am happy with.
I have this cam almost a month and it works great ,but it is missing WIFI and THe app. You have to remove the dashcam and plug it in the computer to watch a HEAR the videos . When in parking mode is when you realy need the wifi and the APP. I think with the app you would be notified if something happened .with the app you dont have to remove the cam from the car, Plus as you keep removing the suction mount it gets weaker to hold the dashcam. OPPS it fell. the parking mode is just that it goes on if hit and the first hit may not com on till a couple of seconds. some of there previous models had Radar . The rear cam is great to have , as i had a close call were someone came cloes to hitting me and I had it RECORDED on dashcam the cam works as intended and does a great job ! Its strange when you come out with a newer model you REMOVED some options .This is only my option of what i would of liked .still thinking of returning it. Missing wifi+ app
Packed with features, good image quality and configurability.Pros- All three cameras are sufficient resolution for their intended purposes. Good image quality.- Between the three, the field of view covers almost all around the car.- Physical buttons, instead of touchscreen. That makes this easier to operate in extreme heat or cold, when touchscreens become unresponsive. (My car entertainment center does).- Menu layout is intuitive to navigate.- The super capacitor is a lifesaver, once again for extreme heat and extreme cold which seems to kill batteries.- I also like that you can choose which cameras should record at any time.- Locking video clips is a nice feature to prevent you from accidentally erasing important events.- Exposure adjustments, Wide Dynamic Range, Parking Mode (Collision or Collision + Motion Detection) options.Cons- Should have come with the GPS mount, which I'm going to buy separately.- The rear camera cable layout could be avoided if there was a wireless connection between the main unit and the rear camera.Despite the high temperature operating range, the storage instructions recommend removing it from direct sunlight in summer and storing it in the glove box in extreme winter (-20F). You should also look for a equally rated micro sd card.I would turn the voice recording feature off if you're just commuting and don't specifically need it.Will see how it holds up after months of use, but so far looks very promising.
The Vantrue N4 3 Channel Dash Cam is easy to set up. Only took me a few tries to master the menu items. It was very simple after that. The customer service was outstanding. They answered all of my questions without hesitation in simple, clear language. Highly recommend this dash cam.
Dash cam automatically switches between IR and normal mode depending on the light situation and I really like this feature. I had trouble to find better place to attach my dashcam to windshield. I have 2-channel Blackvue dash cam on my other car and i always wanted 3 channel one. I like Blackvue setup more but i wouldn't pay double price. I always park at garage and have no use for cloud capability.I think both dash cams are overpriced. If you looking for this particular dash cam, wait for price drop like i did. Because you gonna need to buy GPS module and hardwire kit for separate if you looking for better dash cam experience like speedometer read and long lasting parking mode. I use 256GB Samsung SD card and it performs fantastic with this dash cam.
Its worth buying this dashcam. Has 3 cameras which front, inside and rear. Its very useful because aside from you have security to take the video in case of accident. I also used like back up camera for my old car. The size of screen is enough to see the rear camera. The quality of the video is very clear. This dashcam is now part of my life that I can't drive without it.
This is a quality piece of equipment. I’ve been wanting a dashcam for a while but didn’t want a cheap one. Excellent picture and frame rate. One thing to note is that it doesn’t come with the SD card. Not the end of the world because I had one already. If you are looking for a dashcam and don’t mind spending a little bit more you can’t go wrong with this one. 3 cameras is a great feature.
I have used multiple camera in the past and cameras do not take heat very well. Cameras tend to get overheated and just stopped working out of nowhere. This camera can take heat extremely well. Buy it! Not the greatest graphics but it works amazing.
I got this as a gift for Christmas and couldn't wait to install it. So far, so good, I have Zero complains about it. The Picture quality is Very clear on all camera's both at Day and Night. The install was very easy, I just had to hide the wires between the interior panels to get a clean installation. I am considering getting the hard wire kit so that I don't have a wire hanging out the side of the center console, and also a light tint to conceal the front camera more.
Although the price is high, it simply beats the N2 Pro.The screen cannot be locked to stay on and get more out of the rear camera when reversing. In general, the experience with this dash cam improves a lot, having a better video format that can be played without problem from Windows or Android.Installation is simple, with a little patience anyone can do it.
Product impression: It does not look cheap. It’s well built and the outside feels like rubberized. I left it in a car through very hot summer and still no issue.
Very good resolution: See the photos. Both interior and exterior resolutions are good. Interior of my car is black leather and the person is wearing dark blue jacket but the camera still shows a good image. I redacted the face but details are pretty good. Vehicle license plate numbers can be read on 1080P (outside)/1080P(inside). The menu also offers a higher resolution but then it does not offer dual camera views.
Easy setup: Good suction cup/holder is very steady and not shaky. Well built, plug and play as the factory setting is already good for most users. Menu and buttons are simple and easy to understand. Good user interface.
Excellent/responsive customer: Customer support by email is very responsive and genuinely interested in resolving a customer’s concerns and issues. It generally takes 1 or 2 days to response but they do get back to you. They also don’t hesitate to offer exchange a defective dash cam under warranty after trouble shootings.
Optional GPS: Quick fix GPS antenna and enables speed of a vehicle stamps on video files.
Suggestion: Use good quality micro SD cards made for frequent write/delete like SanDisk High Endurance Video Monitoring. Check once in a while to make sure the files are not corrupted. Reformat every 1 or 2 weeks. Keep one extra SD card as backup. Throw away and get a new one if SD cards keep corrupted or turns on/off the dash cam. Also, always use OEM cable and charger. Connect USB directly to the dash cam rather than through the holder or GPS antenna if you are having any power issue. Update firmware only if necessary so that you know if the dash cam experiences some issues you can spot the issue.
