Ran into an issue at first because I didn't notice you have to turn the suction cup to the left to 'unlock' it, then turn it back right while applying pressure against the windshield to make it stick in place. Once that hurdle was cleared it's worked great though. In a 4-door sedan I have several extra feet of cord for the front and rear cameras after having routed it everywhere that I rolled up and tucked away.Video and audio quality both are crystal clear. I saw other highly-recommended brands had issues overheating (especially in parking mode) so I'm not bothering with that and just plugging it into the lighter for power only when the car is on, but I'll see here in the next couple months how it withstands blazing southern temperatures.
That’s my second vantrue dash cam, I had the N2 for a few years and it still works great, it was just time for an upgrade. The picture quality is excellent and having 3 video streams completely covers everything happening around you on the road. After 6 months my G sensor stopped working and customer support backed their product and send me a new camera. The whole process was very effortless. Good job!
This camera is a great purchase. Going through Amazon to buy it was easy quick and well worth the purchase. The camera system was such an easy hookup and the picture quality is phenomenally clear. The night vision is perfectly clear as well. Definitely recommend this camera system if you in the market.
The camera has excellent video quality. Sound quality could be a little better but whatever. What was absolutely disappointing, especially for the price tag on this, was the crappy suction cup used for the mounting base. I have had a couple other phone holders that the suction cup part was soft and tacky so it could adhere to surfaces really well without falling off. But this suction cup is so stiff that it ends up lifting up off the windshield regardless of the "suction" pressure it's supposed to have. It just did not matter how many times I cleaned the window and suction cup it just would NOT stay even without the minor weight of the camera (which the camera so super light weight) weighing it down to "make" it fall off.In the end I had no choice but to glue it to the windshield to keep it on there without it falling off every 30 seconds. Trust me I didn't really want to glue it but I had no other option because even some 3M Command strips didn't work either and I needed a good quality dash cam due to an aggressive driver incident that happened in the parking garage at my apartment complex. The attached photos are before and after the gluing of the mount. The first one shows how little the suction cup is actually attached the windshield and the other shows that this b**ch isn't coming off anytime soon. Please excuse the bit of dirt on the outside of the windshield.All-in-all just expect to get creative with the mounting of this product at best.
I Camera was easy to install but the hard wire kit listed with the camera on Amazon was the wrong one. Had to order the correct one. The Camera is a type C USB, the one listed with the camera as an option is a Mini USB. So, make sure you get the correct Kit. The correct USB C hard wire kit received, now works on accessory mode with vehicle, work great.
Dash cam worked great when it worked. First one I got stopped recording after a week when the rear camera was plugged in. Once I disconnected it started to record again but just the front and cabin. Sent it back to get exchanged. Second dash cam worked fine for about 6 weeks then started dong what the first one was doing. Stopped recording and only started to work again after I unplugged the rear camera. Sent numerous email through Amazon after doing troubleshooting but no response. Tried email them through their website request help and possible warranty but no response. Finally tried to email getting my money back but never a response. I’m baffled at how they get such great reviews. But this is one company and product I can’t recommend even to my worst enemy.Edwin
I will admit I don’t have experience with any other dash camera, but this one has been awesome right out of the box. Great camera quality, compact, and well put together. Love the features and customization you can do with it! 100% happy and would recommend to a friend (already have!).
The motion detection feature, that is advertised, is not designed to work on the rear camera. One of the primary reasons I purchased this product was to provide security to bikes on the back of the car while parked. Additionally, customer service is non existent; multiple requests for information have gone unanswered.
There is absolutely no way this is 4K. It's probably not even HD. Horrible quality. It's okay if you don't need to catch any details about a car. You can barely tell make and Model off each car, the cars just look like shapes
I love it! 3 cameras and a microphone. Picture quality is great. I also purchased the hardwire kit and the GPS mount. Totally hidden install connected to the ignition power took about an hour and a half. YouTube it. I would buy it again.
This cam worked great for 5 months, then all of a sudden it started shutting down after two minutes. Common problem, there is an update that you have to do that can be quite tedious for tech challenged people. You have to contact Vantrue to get the proper update in a email. Nice product, but it comes with its red flags.
Car cam. Great instructions, works well. I modified the mount to grip the headliner. Factory mount takes up a little too much glass space for my taste so I modified it.
hard to believe that for almost $300 and 3 replacements in a row all defective??? wOW I'll never buy Vantrue again what a huge waste of time. i kept giving more chances because everyone in the world on YouTube says how great it is...I guess vanTRUE sent the review models in good condition but the ACTUAL CUSTOMER GETS JUNK! THANKS FOR NOTHING
Best Dashcsn I’ve e bed Dr used abd has C don’t cpu fit filming very chh oh ear great gut security and insurance. It will pick up ufo’s and license plates perfectly.
The first time I got this camera it did not work. I did send it back and they sent me a replacement. I am glad to see that this camera uses a USBC port. The install was super easy they give you enough cabling to make sure it will fit with you vehicle the night vision and quality of this camera surpasses many of the cameras I have had. It is nice to know that when I am at work my car is protected inside and out if somebody tries to break in or somebody hits my car. Would definitely recommend.
I am very happy withthis cam after disaster performance of viofio uber t130 dash cam. That Cam didn't record video and wifi was so bad that I returned for this cam. I'm happy with first impressions and is performing fine now.
I won't rate the unit negatively, only the experience. I purchased a new unit, only to receive one that had been previously used/returned. The seals on the package had been torn and partially removed, the manual packaging was missing, the cords were unraveled with no ties and double sided tape sticker on rear facing camera was missing. The main unit itself was defective and the menu would not appear when button pushed. Not happy at all that they tried to sell this as a new unit. Returned immediately!
Bought this for my mom, it is yet to work months after.Comes without an SD card, which could have been included at this price. Ended up buying a SanDisk card, which absolutely refused to work in this. Bought second card - Vantrue brand, still refuses to work. You guys couldn't make your own card just work could you?Mother who lives far away cannot figure out the menus to format the card with the camera interface. Still drives with the camera which is not recording... will wait for my next annual visit to finish setting it up.Basically a complete setup design failure of a product. Do not buy this. Buys something with internal storage or something that works out of the box.Vantrue, would it kill you to prompt user to press a single button to format a new card when its inserted instead of that useless message you show? Did anyone besides your engineers use this product before you decided to sell it to the masses? Abysmal failure.Regret buying this. Will never look at another Vantrue product again.
Experiencing a shortage in the cord for my VanTrue dash cam car charger, I searched online for a replacement. To my dismay, I couldn’t find the stand alone accessory anywhere. I then visited the official VanTrue website and contacted their customer support via email. I explained the issue and informed them that I had purchased the device through Amazon. In less than 24 hours, I received a reply from someone, and it wasn’t just an automated response bot, but from an actual person. Not only did she reply expeditiously, but she also followed up throughout making the process very easy and painless. It was a great experience, and it shows they appreciate each one of their customers. I didn’t feel like just another request in a que but like a valued customer whose business was appreciated. Jennifer, the representative, made it apparent that being satisfied with my VanTrue experience and purchase was their top priority. Knowing all to well what it feels like to have a company give subpar customer service when it comes to product malfunction and replacements, I don’t take for granted my awesome experience with this team. I would recommend their dash cam based on the great product that it is alone but now I would recommend it even more so due to their stellar customer service. Go VanTrue!!
I bought this last year after hearing/reading nothing but praise and great reviews! However, due to unforeseen events and me working from home I never had a chance to install it for a couple of months. When I finally did the quality seemed pretty good. But it stoped working after less than a week or two. I’ve tried using their support page on their website but it never has worked for me. Hopefully they will see this review and help remedy this situation.
The camera is superb , product support was great. We needed an extra 9’cable because we installed the camera in our RV which the seller gladly provided.
It started acting up the first day i got it . It keeps turning on & off . If it wasn’t for that this would be a good produce . But it’s a dislike for me .
I took a long time choosing the Dashcam that would be best for us without wishing to spend a fortune and it came down to the Vantrue N4.It comes with everything to get you started, the directions are straight forward and decided to go with the hardwire kit to maximise the Cameras full features. I also purchased the self-adhesive mount to minimise any possible shaking. All self-adhesive mounts including the rear camera come with a spare adhesive pad and there was even a useful tool in one of the boxes.Well worth the money and the free desktop software download is just brilliant.Registering the product online gained us 18 months of warranty instead of the usual 12 months.Very happy with the purchase
Bought this due to a NYT Wirecutter recommend and I'm happy with my choice. Easy to install and there are plenty of videos to walk you through a custom install showing no wires. I opted for the hardwire option to get the "OEM look" using the fuse for the power passenger seat in case something happened during wiring but had no issues. After spending about 20 minutes playing with the camera and going through the options I got it tweaked to where i wanted. On my first outing the camera picked up a speeding BMW doing at least 80 mph and captured the plate number clearly (I blotted it out for this pic). The daytime image quality is great. I gave it 3 stars on night vision because license plates are unreadable due to glare. I'm working with the exposure levels to try to get them readable. Overall, a great device and customer support is responsive. Now only the test of time will determine how durable it is. Remember to plug the power connection into the mount and the rear camera connector into the front camera, and, if you hardwire, use a fuse that's not critical to the functioning of the car.
I like the system and the setup. However, the rear remote camera now causes a short when plugged into the system and causes it to continuously reboot. I would like to get a new rear camera but they don't sell a replacement.
It would be more suitable to have a fast charging portable battery sold with it for 24hrs surveillance to avoid messing up with the new cars electric system.
I use the Vantrue N4 dash cam every day and I love it! It was easy to install and the picture and night vision quality is excellent. Also had a great experience with the Vantrue customer service team, they are very responsive and helpful. My dash cam had stopped working at some point and so I contacted their customer service. They responded immediately and sent me step-by-step instructions on how to resolve the issue. When the dash cam still would not turn on, Vantrue sent me a brand new dash cam as a replacement. I’m very happy with their customer service and the product. I would definitely recommend.
I cannot deny the image quality, but it’s physical dimensions are big. I mounted this in my new Toyota Venza and it looked ridiculously large on my wind shield. I wish it were a bit more discrete for safety reasons. The usb connector is inconveniently located on top of the suction mount which makes it hard to mount it near the roof liner because you need to twist the knob to lock the suction cup in place.I didn’t keep it due to the size because it presented a safety concern for me. I would recommend this if someone didn’t have a small windshield or have some place to mount it that doesn’t obstruct field of vision while driving.
My anime car has been vandalized once before, so I got this camera set. Nobody has touched my car since. I've seen video of people wanting to mess with it, but once they realize that there is a camera, they leave.
For such an expensive camera it does very little if not less then some 100$ dash cams. Make sure to do some research. I didn’t but the review had it at 4 stars so I just bought it. Instant regret. The camera quality is ok but it has no battery and for some reason has no WiFi so you cannot connect it to you phone some of the instant recordings start late where in a real situation you would probably just miss everything. Do not buy this camera it’s just bad and not worth the money. If you want a really good one go with next base 622 it’s more expensive or vifo t130 it’s cheaper.
I am thoroughly impressed with this dash cam. I have 2, 1 in each of my vehicles, using the hardwire kit and GPS mount. The camera would be better if there were some form of Wi-Fi connectivity so you could view and save clips via the internet though. I did run into wiring issues to make use of the parking mode feature with one of my vehicles. Vantrue customer support was very helpful in troubleshooting and identifying the issue though. It turns out that if you have a newer vehicle that has Auto Engine Start/Stop Technology you need to install an IGN-3 module and cut brown loop wire in order for parking mode and power to be applied continuously and correctly. I ran into issues where the dash cam would lose power depending on how the auto start/stop interacted with the electrical equipment in my vehicle otherwise. This was in a 2021 Lincoln Nautilus Black Label, so definitely newer tech. Unfortunately, Vantrue does not provide this recommendation for their product and does not offer an alternative but so far it has worked perfectly after having it installed. One of the 3 IGN-3 wires is ran to the car battery, one to the push-button ignition fuse, and 1 to an always on fuse. This allows all features of the cam to work flawlessly. If you don't cut the brown loop wire the IGN-3 only provides 10 seconds of capacitor power during an engine shut off. With the wire cut it provides 140 seconds (2min 20 sec) which is more than enough to cover most city driving and stop lights.I would definitely recommend this setup for anyone that's in the market for a 3-channel dash cam set up because this system records front exterior, interior, and rear exterior of the vehicle with interior audio, battery saver tech, and parking mode so that even when not driving you're covered.
Motion detection didn’t turn on when someone broke into my truck, despite being turned to maximum sensitivity. The mounting bracket lacks freedom-of-movement for optimal positioning, out of my field of vision. The suction cup pops off frequently, despite clean windshield. They offer no permanent or more reliable mounting solutions.I wish they offered side-view cameras that integrate into the same storage chip, instead of the single the rear view. For 360* coverage. Or offer upgrade compatibility.Besides that, it’s a decent system.
I like the quality, night vision on this camera, the only thing I don't like its doesn't have smart phone app. It is 24/7 on my car but if the thief took the camera you won't have any footage on it. Useless.
First day I caught some guy looking in my car with the inside cam. This set covers all the bases if you want to keep an eye on your car. Also of course while in motion. Rock throwing trucks who don’t want to take responsibility to aggressive tailgating angry ppl who do bad things. Then there are the liars who say it’s your fault they plowed into you oh then there’s the hit and runners. See lots of applications.
All in all, I am thrilled with the Vantrue N4 and accessories. I will be buying more for my other vehicles. It is more than a Dash Cam because it monitors front, back, and inside your vehicle. It can be set to monitor when you are away and your vehicle is vulnerable. This is must have in this day and age of litigation and overzealous law enforcement. The whole setup was easy to install, wire, and operate. I added the Vantrue hardwire kit and GPS mount (I'll review those an Amazon separately). There is plenty of cable and wire provided for any install. My vehicle is a large SUV and I had cable to spare.Updating the firmware was simple by following the Vantrue instructions. The camera and accessories are well made and show a pride of craftsmanship and well thought design.Reviewing the playback is very easy. You can either remove the camera and attach it to your computer with the provided USB cable or pop out the Micro SD card and insert it in a computer. I used a Samsung 250GB EVO and it works fine.I like the file storage format. The Front, Rear, and Interior views are stored in three separate MP4, that are time stamped and coordinated. If you add the GPS mount, the MP4 will include the located and speed stamp. The images are what you would expect in 4K.The only challenges I would like to see address are the addition of wireless connectivity to the cloud. If someone steals your device, you have lost everything. The only other issue is the locking mechanism on the very robust Front camera mount has a large tab that make installation limited in direction. A ring lock would me better than the large tab. But this thing has the most secure glass mount that I have ever encountered. It is not going to move unless you release it.
for that price you can buy a much better quality dash cam like the nextbase. I returned and bought a nextbase. a Chinese product for a high price. you can get it at liberty express or alibaba for 40 dollars the same camera
I used to have N2 and that went bad. Purchased it 5 years ago and considering the heat and cold in my area suprrised it lasted this long.Camera is 3 and quite easy to install.FRONT FACING: Is a great camera during daytime, night time is also quite nice as long as your headlights are able to laminateINSIDE CABIN: Daytime is is really great and wide enough to get part of the side windows. Night vision with IR is also quite nice.REAR FACING: During the day time runs well, but if you have sun facing it directly, it isn't great, but no camera is going to work if you face the sun. During the Night it is quite uses. Will catch what you have, but no way to identify anything.License plate reader, many cameras show this amazing picture of license plate reader, don't even think about it being your saving grace. Unless if you are parked behind the car then only then you will get the license plate. Else it is mostly a blur.
This N4 dash cam is meeting all of my expectations. I'm using it in a Toyota Prius.Recording: I have it set to record 3 minute clips. I rarely drive longer than an hour in a day. After checking the camera footage several times, I can see that it isn't missing any time. The only time there is a gap is if I've manually clicked on the upper left button on the top of the camera which moves the file into the protected "events" folder. Love that this feature is safe and easy to use while driving.Locating files: The way the files are time stamped makes it very easy to locate the file just before or after an event, should the protected file need more video for context.Camera recording area: I am not using the rear camera at this time. I'm pleased with the cabin camera which records enough out the rear and side windows that I don't think the rear camera is necessary. I'm not as interested in catching a plate number (though the front camera does that very well) as I'm with being able to prove and accident was not my fault.Mounting: So far, the suction cup is holding firmly. I did read in the notes that it should be removed and remounted every few weeks in order to maintain the strong suction to the window. I have not yet made a decision about hardwiring the cables yet, so for not, just using the power plug.Removing the camera from the mount: The first few times I had some colorful words about the design and difficulty removing it. However, after a few days, I noticed it became very easy for me to reach up with my left hand, pinch the exterior-pointing release clip with my index finger and the cabin side of the mount near the camera with my thumb, while using my right hand to slide out the camera. It's very quick and easy for me at this point, so I think it's just something that had to be done a few times for the parts to slide efficiently and for me to figure out the best placement of my thumb and finger.Computer compatibility: I'm using a 2015 Mac Powerbook. The first thing I did before using this dash cam was go to the Vantrue website and download the latest firmware update into my downloads folder. Just leave the file as is. Do not open it. Then I inserted the new SD card into my computer so I could drag-n-drop the update file to it. Remove the SD card, take out the microSD and insert it in the camera, connect the camera to the computer and turn it on. The camera automatically installs the update. Then format the SD card. I'm using the 256GB. It's working flawlessly, even after removing and reinserting multiple times while checking to make sure everything is working properly.Reviewing Footage: Very easy on my Mac. No additional software was needed, though I some some on the Vantrue site that can be downloaded. My Mac opens the mp4 files with Quicktime.Sound: Pretty good. Definitely easy to hear the talking in the car. I didn't realize how hilarious our conversations are (hubby and I) while we are driving until we reviewed the footage after our first use.As mentioned by others, there's no WiFi / Bluetooth. I knew that when I purchased this unit, so I have not deducted anything for not having this feature. I'd rather view the footage on my larger computer screen if needed but can also see there could be benefits to having the choice to connect to the phone for viewing of clips, though if necessary, they can be viewed from the camera itself.I've not used parking mode so cannot comment on that feature. Nor do I have the GPS feature.Definitely happy with this purchase.
Not more then 5 minutes recording night vision not working no Bluetooth no gps no WiFi no parking mood working I don’t like it I will never buy this camera
The MP4 formats created by this camera will not play with any native video players in Windows 10/11 meaning you HAVE to use the Vantrue app to view any videos which itself is extremely slow in opening or viewing files, even on a high-end late-model Surface Book 3! UPDATE: The slow response out of the Vantrue app appears to be related to video file corruption I'm frequently seeing on the SD card. I'm hesitant to spend another 50 bucks for "Vantrue's" SD card as the one I bought, with all the same specs, is showing corruption issues and it's hard to tell if it's the card or camera...
The package included everything need to install the cameras. When you need to to determine if you want to stick with included A/C adapter install. Or, order the optional fuse box install kit.
Almost 5 hours of the ride were lost due to unknown reason. There are 2 folders where the dash cam saves the videos - normal and events. Checked both for the videos recorded during the time period from 01:39 to 06:21, but didn't manage to find them anywhere. The quality of the recorded videos looks good, but if it stops recording just for no reason, it makes no sense to have it in the car.
I thought I would upgrade my wife from a S1 vantrue dash cam and realized this fancy device stopped operating as intended after a few months. It began rebooting multiple times per drive and was not as reliable as the S1. What a waste.
Hello I bought the venture N4 3 channel dash cam less then a yr ago on Amazon it actually saved me on an accident. While on a trip from Ny to Fl I noticed it stopped working I checked the cables and power source all good. When I touched it to make sure it was plugged in it was extremely hot to the touch i was barely able to touch it. I unplugged it to cool down and now it is inoperable what is the warranty on the item ? How do I get someone to contact me
The Mfgr uses the "night vision" as a key selling point to monitor activity around your car at night (while in parking mode) but it's useless since it doesn't improve the visibility at night outside the car only inside the car. I have $60 wildlife camera that is 100% than the Vantrue dashcam at night. Their customer service is responsive by email but they don't offer technical support. For the $ there's better cameras on the market.
This is a great dash camera. I researched quite a bit and this one has all the features I was looking for. Three cameras, front, interior, and rear. The picture quality from all three cameras is superb. Installation was a snap. I really liked the little tool provided that helps tuck the power cord behind the headliner without marring the paint or hurting the headliner. It took me less than three hours to install the entire system. I also purchased the hardwire kit. I tagged into the cigarette lighter for power. Very easy to do and leaves my lighter open. Navigating the menus ar a breeze. Once you set it up, you can pretty much leave it alone.I highly recommend this dash camera to anyone looking for a high-quality, reasonably priced system that is easy to install.
For a $250 camera id expect it to be able to read a damn plate lol. I even have my front cam set to 2100p at the expense of the rear and cabin cams (720) and it still can BARELY read plates during full day time.
In my professional driving career (taxi, tractor-trailer, rideshare, food delivery), I've had several dashcams, all of them lackluster. Some had no audio, some had no speed / location info, others had crappy picture quality, some had one or more such sins. And none of them lasted.I had heard of VanTrue before, but was skeptical after previous experience with others. I finally decided to try the N4 when it went on sale after a previous cheapie failed -- yet again.I initially had trouble replaying the video, as my PC claimed I need to "buy" a codec to support a video format I was already playing on my system. I am not sure if this was a hiccup concerning Microsoft, or a glitch on my PC. But once I got the video to play (without 'buying' the suggested codec), I was simply amazed at the picture quality, especially with the night vision. When I had night vision before, it was very grainy and almost not worth having. Not the case here. After six months of use, I can say I can think of no reason you would regret purchasing this unit -- very solid and dependable.Do yourself a favor and use the card VanTrue recommends, and get the recommended hardwiring kit -- for me, it eliminated a lot of hassle and worry. The only issue I've had is the hardwire kit's piggyback fuseholder occasionally comes loose and falls out (once or twice in three months), but it hasn't happened recently.
The good: By far the best dashcam I've gotten. Far exceed my expectations. Video quality is crystal clear. Infrared video is excellent. Rear facing camera super. Sound quality is great. Easy to install and couldn't be happier. The bad: I ended buying the SD card separately, but for the price of the unit I believe at least the SD card should be included and shouldn't have to pay extra $$ for it.
Awesome camera. Very easy to setup. Also Make sure to format your memory card. You can review the videos on the device itself or on the computer. Only had it for about a month & so far so good. Oh and also register your device online to extend the warranty.
I bought the bundle with the gps. I'm my scenario the gps came broken. Not the biggest deal. The big problem with this unit is mounting it. I work for the DOD making weapons for the US military, no amount of alcohol can clean and make this stick not any other trick I can think of.. I can not even rate the product after the broken part and the fact that I can't even get it to stay on the windshield with the use of adhesive. To expensive to worry this much. Returning broken part and the bundle. I can't deal.
Small suv's LISTEN!1.) Look, if you have a split hatch back, meaning a horizontal swinging to the left back door, with a vertically lifting back door glass, there will be about 8 inches of wire that must remain exposed in a loop of sorts to account for slack when the glass is lifted up and open vs closed/shut.2.) With smaller windshields finding a place for the front camera is VERY limited to bottom right of rear view mirror to beneath mirror. BOTH expose camera to direct sunlight, and cluttered front windshield line of sight (wires, interrupted line of sight for driver and passenger).3.) The plug for power needs to be WAY shorter stubby and fat versus a crazy long green bean adapter sticking way out of a power outlet (cigarette lighter).4.) The product quality, packaging, directions and price is fantastic! However, that doesn't mean it will work for everyone.5.) I do NOT want to piggy back the power to the fuse box and would prefer an accessory of say last 8" for back camera having a flexible 'cork screw' style wire that can expand and contract when a partitioned window opens and closes from a rear hatch/trunk or (boot) of an SUV.6.) There are exceptions to which SD cards u can and cannot use, specifically the manufacturer. For the price of the product INCLUDE for FREE an 64gb SD card, ITS better than a $20 off coupon. Which you won't because its a nightmare for returns if it doesn't work or customer breaks it. Right? SO WHAT, Craftsman used to give a pretty much replace any tool, for free guarantee. Set YOUR product one more step in front of the Amazon competition and OFFER A FREE SD card, in fact put a free replacement card for life in the deal. Get them made with Vantru logo on them. It would be a game changer!
Purchased this after a hit and run accident. I use the parking monitor feature and it works perfectly. Doesn't kill my car battery even in the cold weather.
Only 4K when you are using ONLY the front facing camera... if you are using the other cameras (rear cam) its 1080p. Why would they advertise its 4K but not allow you to use all the equipment you paid for with 4K?Very sneaky and dishonest if you ask me.
I got this camera about two weeks ago and found that the backup camera was way too short since I have a double cab tacoma with a canopy on it. I excepted I might need an extra cord but I wrote Vantrue support 3 times one right when I bought knowing I would need more length. they say 24 hour return time try no return time and I checked by spam folder. So I bought a cord similar to the one I have and found it not to work so I have to eat that cost and I will just have to keep trying or I loose out on a rear camera which I paid for.
My friend recommended Vantrue when I started my search for a dash cam. He has the N2 and loves it. However, I still wanted to check out reviews and such on other dash cams. In the end, I decided on the Vantrue N4. I really liked the idea of 3 cameras. When the dash cam arrived, I was very impressed with the packaging and quality of the camera and contents.Installation was easy and after using the dash cam for a few days I can say that I’m still impressed with everything. Video is very sharp. I can view the files directly off the micro SSD card directly on my Mac Book Pro or use the Vantrue native app.I highly recommend this dash cam.
I've had this camera for almost a year. Hardwired it myself in order to get 24/7 surveillance and it works great. When the vehicle is powered off, it only records motion detection. While driving it is on constantly.
This dashcam was better than most of the dashcams in the market but it comes with defects:1. Gets heated very fast. Couldn't even record 30 minutes straight. (I thought my car was going to burn, it was almost on fire)2. It doesn't have any App to view videos on phone.3. It doesn't record while in parking even you have activated parking mode. So if your car is off, Cam doesn't work.
The Vantrue N4 3CH camera was simple to setup and easy to use. The manual provided was very informative and not confusing. I've installed it on my 2021 Subaru Legacy with absolutely no issues. I was initially concerned that the dashcam might interfere with the Eyesight system (Subaru's pre-collision detection system) but I was able to mount the suction cup mount just out of the way. The image quality looks great day and night. The night vision of the cabin view provided good and clear images as long as there isn't anything obstructing it. Overall a great addition to someone who's looking get something to cover those long commutes or for professional use such as Uber/Lyft type occupations.
All I need to say I looked for a dash cam for months. This is the only one you need. Just make sure if you have a SUV you get the rear cam extension for the cable.
The camera itself seems to have good quality cameras, but for some reason it doesn't record the video, only the sound. It records an mp3 file, but with only sounds, I'm not sure how that works... I've tried different sd cards, but they're all the same outcome.
I bought this product but I didn’t realize I couldn’t just pull up the video footage on my phone if I were to get into an accident it’s a major set back and is making me rethink my purchase. I like most people would like to have access to downloadable footage the second an anything happens as visual proof so that I can hand over to the authorities immediately
Bought this dash cam November 2021. It has been working great as advertised. Updated firmware once. It was pretty easy and smooth. Customer support was great too. They were quick to response and helpful. I was looking for a spare car charger; couldn't find it online; they sent me one. Overall, the experience has been great. Highly recommended!
I've had this for about a month. Seen quite a few reviews saying the suction cup dnt hold well. Well, it hasn't fallen off for the month I've had it. It holds well and does what its expected to. Haven't gotten into any accidents, but thats the plan. Quite expensive to be honest. But quality is great. Will update if anything goes wrong.
I installed this and about a week later someone hit me and was denying it. Sent the video with multiple angles and it clearly showed the other person merging onto my lane. The clutch pov was the rear window camera. Overall great product.
I thought it had Wi-Fi when it would go right to your phone or get saved to a cloud it does not do that that is my only downfall other than that very happy with it but I will be getting a different and better one that does everything I want I thought this did my bad
Great Dash Cam, quality is great. The features on this cam are user friendly. The three channel feature is great especially for doing Uber , Lyft! It’s a must have.
I was unaware of where it should be installed. I would have preferred it on the windshield however when you travel some states you require it on the dash, or out of you clear view.
Product impression: It does not look cheap. It’s well built and the outside feels like rubberized. I left it in a car through very hot summer and still no issue.
Very good resolution: See the photos. Both interior and exterior resolutions are good. Interior of my car is black leather and the person is wearing dark blue jacket but the camera still shows a good image. I redacted the face but details are pretty good. Vehicle license plate numbers can be read on 1080P (outside)/1080P(inside). The menu also offers a higher resolution but then it does not offer dual camera views.
Easy setup: Good suction cup/holder is very steady and not shaky. Well built, plug and play as the factory setting is already good for most users. Menu and buttons are simple and easy to understand. Good user interface.
Excellent/responsive customer: Customer support by email is very responsive and genuinely interested in resolving a customer’s concerns and issues. It generally takes 1 or 2 days to response but they do get back to you. They also don’t hesitate to offer exchange a defective dash cam under warranty after trouble shootings.
Optional GPS: Quick fix GPS antenna and enables speed of a vehicle stamps on video files.
Suggestion: Use good quality micro SD cards made for frequent write/delete like SanDisk High Endurance Video Monitoring. Check once in a while to make sure the files are not corrupted. Reformat every 1 or 2 weeks. Keep one extra SD card as backup. Throw away and get a new one if SD cards keep corrupted or turns on/off the dash cam. Also, always use OEM cable and charger. Connect USB directly to the dash cam rather than through the holder or GPS antenna if you are having any power issue. Update firmware only if necessary so that you know if the dash cam experiences some issues you can spot the issue.
