The Vantrue N2 Pro is by far one of the best dash cams out there. If you are in search for a front and interior facing camera, this is the one for you. Perfect videos, pictures and sound. Easy to use and very easy to set up.
I'm an Uber driver and I bought my Vantrue after some passengers were very rude and I knew if they were on camera they would have been much nicer. So I got my Vantrue Pro and I've not had a rude customer since! But an even better, and unexpected, reason for the dash cam came up. My new Honda CR-V started flashing warning lights for me to brake, or the car would automatically, even though there was nothing in front of my car. I told Honda my brake system is faulty and while I'm standing in the service department two Honda representatives are telling me that there was something in my lane that I just didn't see. Impossible! I was so frustrated, but all I could do was go home. Then I remembered.....VANTRUE! I downloaded the video and in the most clear video you can imagine, there it was....a perfectly clear lane while my brake system's warning bells are going off! Ha! If I wasn't afraid someone would see me I would hug my VANTRUE!
These are such an extraordinary cameras you can get out there for dual lenses even though the prices are very excessive but I was able to buy mine on Black Friday for $129
Why is this product going to the power of the switch once every two or three hours? I have already asked twice. They said that I have replaced the 256 GB memory card. I have already replaced it, but there is still a problem with this voice. Why no one answers
Great picture. Good sound. I have a Toyota Tacoma 4-door so the interior is large but the interior camera makes a functional rear view camera so you get good detail should someone rear end you.You might be worried once you see what you do while driving. Conscious of your actions or not. Do I really look like that? Ugh.All in all, the only thing that could have made this better is a case to store/carry the camera. I tend to pack it in with me when I get home. Currently using an old padded eyeglasses case. It still tends to roll around some.
I bought this camera along with the GPS mount and a 128GB Micro SD card. It is the perfect combo for Uber & Lyft drivers. It's compact, easy to use, a snap to install and provides great peace of mind.Setup is straightforward and easy to configure. The video quality is very good except the white balance tends to shift towards lots of magenta. They did a firmware update a while back that fixed it for the most part for the forward facing camera but the inside camera still tends to get the colors wrong. For example, a black shirt will tend to look purple. However, the quality and clarity is great!A 128GB Micro SD card will cover almost two 8 hour days of driving. The video loops and you can adjust the clip length to 2, 3 & 5 minutes. I use the 5 min clips and at the end of the day, I've got a bunch to go through. I end up saving all clips where I have a passenger in the vehicle. The routine driving stuff, I discard. At the end of my day, I go through, save the clips I need and then reformat the card in camera. Then, I'm ready for the next shift.I do recommend getting yourself a large external HD to save the footage as dual 1080P camera clips eat up some room! All in all, I highly recommend this camera for Ride-Share or similar situations!
While the over all quality of the camera is good, the battery is terrible. If its not plugged it will drain in a few minute. My other complaint is the suction can not be rotated 360 degree. That feature is really important in case of capturing road rage,or police pullover. Price is too high while the camera has too many flaws. Am considering returning it
Enough reviews for the actual operation of the product but here is one for the power/parking mode that isnt clearly addressed anywhere. Unless I am doing something wrong here is what I see:Utilizing the hardwire kit you only have two options, power through accessory circuit (power only when key on) or power from battery (power all the time).Problem 1 - when powered through accessory circuit camera will only work when key on (unable to take advantage of parking mode)Problem 2 - when powered from battery camera is on all the time. Which means you must choose constant looping where camera will never stop recording, or parking mode where camera will only record when movement is detected from front camera ONLY (misinformation out there).Parking mode problem 1 - Any camera front/rear should activate recording but doesnt leaving rear/inside not protected.Parking mode problem 2 - Your choice in battery power mode is LCD on all the time (dumb) or a time limit then auto shutoff. But the problem there is the LCD will not ever turn back on unless you press the menu button. No big deal? read problem 3Parking mode problem 3 - there is no external red blinking light indicating the camera is doing anything at all, so you never know if the camera is even working or not unless you turn on the LCD screen and look for the red circle indicating camera is recording. I dont want to have to press a button to know things are functional still.Seems trivial, but for a vehicle where many users are going to be using it (and possible changing settings) there must be an easier way to just know its recording. a simple external LED light would solve that, or an easier work around fix for the manufacturer would be to upgrade firmware to have LCD turn on when recording start for the preset time limit that way those getting into the vehicle know that its on and working.
So apparently to get the SD card to work it has to be in a FAT32 format, windows 10 has no options. I looked online and ended up with various programs that will do it for a fee $40 or so. OK, everybody said this was a great camera, BUT WHY the f$%^ is it so hard to get a GD SD card formatted to work wit it. It would have been nice to have a disclaimer that said hay if you don't have a software engineering degree it may take you a couple of hour to try and format a MF SD card that works with the camera so that it is even worth having. Please don't respond to me if you are some smart ass engineer with "all you need to do is configure DOS bla bla bla". If I pay $200 for some electronic product in 2019 it should be pretty damn easy to get it in a viable working condition.
Purchased it on sale in very happy that I did the picture quality is very good especially in the day and the rear camera sees the whole interior of the vehicle.
I got the N2 Pro camera and I’ve been pretty happy with it. I got it with a 256 GB card and the GPS mount. It’s not perfect but was a great value for the money.During the day, the recorded picture is crisp and clear. At night, it gets a little grainy and some tweaking will be needed to get the cabin camera to work well…but it does work. You will find that being able to pick up a license plate number at night will be a hit or miss proposition. Some cameras will work better than this at night but I wanted to have coverage both of the cabin and on the road. This was probably the best option at this price.Pros:Good valueUp to 256 GB MicroSD card (not included)If using just the front camera, can bump up the resolutionCons:Grainy picture at nightWhen using dual cams, some details are hard to pick up in video
Good dashcam until i accidentally drop it while trying to attach in my winshield that leave the camera with nick in the glass of front camera. Now my videos have that ghosting because of it. I actually like the camera the reason i bought two, one for me and my wife. I hope the glass can be replaced or should the camera come with some type of proctection like a case. Hope the seller or the manufacturer offer me some help on this.
I wish I had gotten it during the holidays when it was marked down, but I got it from a neighbor's recommendation. I took the time to tuck the cable into the head liner and around the A-pillar. I wish the 12V plug had a pass through USB, I'm going to end up getting a standard USB cable for it so I can use my multi USB 12Plug. I like the front and rear view. Had to pull some video from it when a semi almost hit me turning on a small street. Video is good. I don't use the sound recording because I don't want my antics inside the vehicle to be recorded. Only gripe is that my other much cheaper dash cam had GPS location, would have expected it in a $200 camera.
Problems i found with this camera after about 6 month, I live in Las Vegas, the summer is scorching hot, when it's hot the suction cup doesn't stick to the windshield. The color appear more purple, it's a little annoying, but not a big deal since the purpose is to record potential mishap on the road. The swivel got loose, and there's no way to tighten it.
This was my first dashcam and everyone I ask told me to get a vantrue. So far I am happy with my purchase. When i review the files on my computer everything is clear. Worth the money!!!
This is just OK. You get what you pay for. It does not have the best quality but works very well for what it is used for. I mainly use it while I drive for UBER. The dual cam set up is awesome. Day shots looking forward has some quality issues as the wide angle captures too much light making all other objects look dark and lose quality. The lens isn't that great. This setup is best used for mid day and night time uses. The night vision is great and the cabin camera works well at anytime of day. The 4k option is useless and unneeded. Buy the FHD version only to save some $$.
Notified Van True. After I gave the the order number, they responded quickly and sent me another new Dash Cam. All I can is Wow! Cam also takes great video both in and out my car.
This thing is compact and solid. Because its size is small, it is unobtrusive. Picture is great and as an Uber driver, its reassuring to have an 'independent witness' should anything go wrong. Like others, the one design update it could use is where the plug is, but, i was still able to hide the cord in the headliner. Great Product.
I bought this for both an in-cabin and outside dash-cam because I drive for uber; mostly at night. The camera works great for both inside and outside. I am not sure what people do not like about the night mode because it works good enough for me. I have a 2016 Kia Sorento with a 3rd row and the camera picks up the people and conversation all the way in the far back.I bought the GPS mount to go with it. Unfortunately, I did not receive the GPS mount in the box. I contacted Vantrue and they were excellent. Cathy responded to my email within a few hours, and she shipped me the correct mount. I got it 2 days. Thank you Vantrue!
I really liked this Dash Cam. It's small and simple to operate. Great picture. Now the company has sent out an email saying they are going to add a free hardwire set to this Dash Cam
Two cameras in one. Everyone needs one in their cars. It saved me thousands of dollars when a red light runner claimed I was at fault. Customer service respond very fast when there's a problem.
Best dash camera i ever had, very high resolution and wide angle inside and outside camera i really love it. good quality but you should buy more capabilty SD card. My card is only 32GB, which is record only 4 hours.
The audio and video quality are awesome but the holder fell off in 3 hours. I was driving on an interstate and it just fell off. I'm going to have to buy a strong double sided tape to hopefully solve this.
I had to format the sd card about 10 times using the dash cam for it to finally start working properly. for the price, this dash cam is definitely not worth buying. I'd rather get one that you can view through your phone. its funny how it will record but will say incorrect format when playing back on the dash cam itself. Save yourself the time and hassle and get something else. I also bought the gps mount, not exactly sure it is even working.
Love all the features! Perfect video, audio, and night driving quality. GPS mount gives me confidence that should I get into an accident or trouble, I have all the info I need for evidence. Enables my riders to feel safer and cared for. I know not only can I use this for my uber and lyft business but personal usage as well. Superior quality, 18 month warranty when registered and the company gives freebies if you meet certain criteria (purchase, share, like, follow, etc.).
Vantrue N2 Pro Dual Dash Cam Dual 1920x1080P Front and Rear Dash CamCamera Car Video Recorder w/ Infrared Night Vision, does everything as advertised! is DUAL cam, with front and back recording simultaneously, giving you a pretty good image of the road in front of you, the driver / passenger (s) inside the car, The 1.5" screen is NOT intended to be starred at while driving! The screen actually shuts off after a few minutes of driving, thus continuing recording. you can change this setting if you want the screen on all the time, Supports up to 256GB micro SD cards.I am very happy with my purchase and I highly recommend this product.
I’m very pleased with this Dashcam. One thing I wish it had is WiFi. In case it was ever stolen at least you could have video saved to your phone or other device. Other than that it is an excellent product that I hope to be using for sometime now.
This is my second Vantrue dash cam. Nice quality video. The only thing I dislike about this model is that I'm not able to turn off the rear camera option. Having said that, it does allow me to rotate the rear camera so that it doesn't point at the passenger compartment.
I use this for insurance purposes because I drive often for work. If nothing else, it's always entertaining to download the day's events and show them to my wife!
Its a $200 dashcam. The picture quality isn't all that great for that kind of money. The quality in the daytime is okay but the quality of the image at night or low-light situations it not good at all. I have updated to the latest firmware and the issues with image quality remain. Because its changing with the lighting I don't think its a defective product but rather just not good at adjusting to the lighting situation. Image ranges from decent on bright sunny days, washed out looking on cloudy days, to very grainy at night time. Another complaint I have is with the mount that came with the dash cam. The mount is designed in such a way that the camera is not as close to the windshield as I would like. VanTrue did offer to send me an adhesive mount but I really don't want to put adhesive on my windshield as I would rather use a suction-cup type mount. Like the title says I really expected more for my money with this dash cam and I am slightly disappointed with what I got.
I already own the Vantrue X3 on my other vehicle and so it was a no brainer to go with their product again for my other car. This time I went with the N2 pro. The cam works flawlessly with all the features and their new mirror mount work great! The only draw back is if using this mounting system you cannot use their GPS unit attachment, but its not a deal breaker. A cleaner installation is more important for my needs.
I am a Vantrue customer and found that the unit, camera, worked very well. Both the camera for the outside, 1080p, and that camera for the inside gave outstanding video quality. I am pleased with my purchase. As for there customer service, I have found that they are very accommodating and bend over backwards to make things right.I recommend this product!
I am not an uber driver, I bought this cam because I wanted to have some visibility to the rear of the car, which isn’t that good. Overall this camera is one of my top favorites. However the suction cup makes it to bulky to put on and take off every time i get in and out of the car. Night vision to the front camera was, in my opinion, not the best I’ve seen. But overall, for the price, it is an amazing dash cam!
Update+Customer service is excellent after some troubleshooting and a replacement GPS the dash cam works awesome.Been using this for about two weeks. It seems to cut on and off here and there but the final straw for me was the GPS. About 50 hours of video, not one single time does it show anything other than 0 mph.
The quality of this camera is great, inside and out. It was VERY easy to set up. Don't upgrade the firmware unless you have to. I ran into a big problem when I did and had to get a replacement, but Amazon was awesome about it.
I shopped and read and researched dash cams for over a year. I purchased 3 different kinds. This one is great. Clear picture, clear night vision, mini HDMI capability, audio recording and recording of interior and exterior. The only "con" is no app capability. But let's be honest. My other 2 have app capability and I domt really use it because I am driving when using the dash cams. It's hard not to smash into someone if you're stuck watching your phone to operate your camera. I've had this for about a month now and I could not be happier. It's a great investment. Follow their instructions and format your SD card every couple weeks. Hands down the best. I highly recommend this and wish I had purchased this a long time ago!
I'm a strong believer of installing dash cam in my car, especially after I got into an accident and it recorded the whole incident and thus I was able to prove to the insurance company it was the other party's fault. My previous dash cam only records the drive, not the interior of the car. However, I've recently got into ride sharing gig and since I'll be picking up strangers, for safety purposes I've decided to purchase this dual dash cam. Set up was easy and not only was the picture extremely clear, so is the audio. The infrared camera works well at night that even in dark conditions, you can still see the interior of the car clearly. This is a great investment!
Although I have only had this dash cam for a week now, I like it so much that I thought I would write the review already. From the packaging to the ease of use right out of the box, it has been a simple to use dash cam from the beginning. The picture and sound quality are great. The way it connects to your computer so that you can see the videos is also very easy. I would highly recommend this dash cam to my family and friends.
Great picture. Overall very good product. Can not mount on window because of window angle. Inserting micro sd is difficult because it must be inserted below the surface to get it to lock in. Must use a tool to get it to seat. Same to remove it.
I bought this dash cam primarily because of the parking mode, but I’m very happy with it overall. I had a bit of a struggle getting it hardwired because I had to go through the firewall, but it was well worth it. If you’re going to hardwire it, make sure you purchase the connection kit as well. The camera is well-made and the picture quality is excellent. Even the packaging is top quality. The screen is a bit small. Positioning of the in-cabin and outside cameras are independently adjustable. I highly recommend it.
**12/4/2019** Since updating the Firmware my camera seems to be working very well now. Vanture's customer service was very good in helping me with this problem and even sent me a new cord. Updated from 2-5 stars. My unit stops working randomly and must be unplugged for 5-10 secs before it will start working again. I have the GPS mount with the OBD-II power cord. This makes for a very clean install. When the camera works, it is nice. But I have to continually check it to see if its on. I'd hate to be involved in an accident and have this thing miss it. Right now I simply do not trust it.
My so bought me this Dash Cam for Christmas. I couldn't wait to start using it. Easy set up. I was so happy to enjoy using this dash cam. The dual camera's are awesome, front and rear, and the sound is clear inside the car. The night vision is as clear as the day vision. This Cam has many wonderful features. I plan to order and install the fuse link hardware which hooks into the car's fuse panel. I love the long wires, which makes it easy to connect to your cig lighter no matter the size of your car. I would recommend this Dash cam to all my friends. I'll grade this 100% 5 STARS
I am very satisfied with this video camera. Its easy to use and the day and night video is very good. Easy to download files on my laptop or save to a memory stick. Also, it was easy to hide the power cable in the roof lining and side molding. You can't really see any wires.
The only reason I downgraded my rating to four stars, was the fact that the mount does not have an option to use double sided sticky tape to stick to a rough windshield. My car, a Toyota Prius, has window frit in a fairly large area behind the rear view mirror. The cup will not maintain a vacuum when placing over this area to make it as unobtrusive as possible. I got around this by using a round plastic smooth plate and sticking it to the windscreen with 3M tape. Then the suction cup was stuck to this plate.
I've used mine for several months now. The picture quality is terrific for the price. One of my vehicles has an exhaust that needs replaced, but you can still easily understand conversations on the playback.I only had one issue with it, but that was quickly rectified by Vantrue customer service. The front lens cracked, which was causing lens flare. Kelly at Vantrue responded to my email, and sent me another for just the cost of return shipping. If not for a delay by USPS (gov't shutdown?), it would probably have been replaced within a week.
This camera gives great video quality and sound. I had a small issue with the mount after a few months and when i contacted the seller they sent a replacement asap and even upgraded me to a better style mount with GPS locator. I would definitely purchase another or recommend every one to get one. It makes me happy to see a seller stand behind their product
I rideshare part time and have wanted one for quite some time. It's better to safe guard myself against things both on the outside and inside of my vehicle. The best feature of this cam is the interior has IR tech so that the video shows when it's dark out. Which if you drive at night you get a idiot passenger every once in while! The day time image/videos are very crisp. All in all this is a good investment!
There's been a couple times it fell off the glass and the timestamp seems to reset each time you start the car, but it's good sound and video. I bought it for Uber and my own protection in general, never ended up driving for Uber, but it did catch me hitting a deer.
I don't need to tell you this camera has a lot of features; if you've made it this far in your research, you've seen the extensive listing! And while I like many of the things this camera does, there is a critical function that it lacks. This camera will not record anything once the power is disconnected! Why is that important? Let's paint a picture. You've spent $200 on this camera, and you've got the whole thing installed. You were careful to read and understand the directions on page 19 that say this camera should not be run continuously for more than 10 hours. Out of the box, it comes with a power port (cigarette lighter) adapter, and you know your car's power port shuts down when the car turns off. So you stuff the adapter into the power port and off you go!Sadly, you are involved in an accident not 15 miles from your home: Somebody turned into your lane right in front of you, and you were unable to stop in time! Your vehicles collide, and the momentum forces you into another lane where you are hit by a second car!Thankfully, no one is hurt, but the second driver claims you crossed into his lane, and that secondary collision is your fault. No worries, you think: You have the footage from your new Vantrue N2 Pro Uber Dual Dash Cam that will prove your innocence! When you return to your car, you are horrified to see that the power port adapter was dislodged from the force of the initial impact. That means the Vantrue N2 Pro Uber Dual Dash Cam ceased all operations at that moment, taking the following 5 seconds of its tiny battery's life to gracefully stop recording and save all settings as it powered down. Only now do you recall the admonishment from page 10 of the manual where it says, "The camera will power OFF 5 seconds after you turn off the car engine."Rewind two days, to the moment you bought this thing on Amazon. At that point, you could have also bought the Vantrue Dashcam Hardwire Kit (ASIN: B07G9WTWB9), and that would have retained power to the Vantrue N2 Pro Uber Dual Dash Cam with no danger of the power port adapter being dislodged. Except...Using the Vantrue Dashcam Hardwire Kit would mean that every time you got into the car, you'd have to manually turn on the Vantrue N2 Pro Uber Dual Dash Cam. And every time you got out of the car, you'd have to manually turn off the Vantrue N2 Pro Uber Dual Dash Cam. No forgetting is allowed - at the top of page 19 (in bold type), it says, "We do not recommend running the camera continuously for more than 10 hours."There are other dash cams that continue to record for a short period of time after power to the unit is lost. The ROAV, for example, will continue to record for a full minute after power is lost before shutting down.If you're installing a dash cam to protect you from liability in case of an accident, the ability to continue recording after the initial impact may be important to you. In that case, you should choose a different camera. But if you're installing a dash cam to protect you from liability in case your Uber passenger says you tried to rob them, then should be a great camera for you!One other thing: This Vantrue N2 Pro Uber Dual Dash Cam only comes with a suction cup mount. After a time, you WILL find the camera dangling from its cord! What I'd like is for Vantrue to come out with a glue-on mount; then once the best position is determined, the camera can be secured without fear of its falling off...either from heat or impact!
Received camera and was ready for use very quickly. Need to remember to format your micro SD card to Fat32, not hard, but that is the only thing that slowed me down. Installed very easily on my window. It has a wide view of everyone in my car. I can record all converstion and actions of my passengeres. Because of this I think it has change the actions and conversations of some of my passengers for the better. Great Investment.
Product impression: It does not look cheap. It’s well built and the outside feels like rubberized. I left it in a car through very hot summer and still no issue.
Very good resolution: See the photos. Both interior and exterior resolutions are good. Interior of my car is black leather and the person is wearing dark blue jacket but the camera still shows a good image. I redacted the face but details are pretty good. Vehicle license plate numbers can be read on 1080P (outside)/1080P(inside). The menu also offers a higher resolution but then it does not offer dual camera views.
Easy setup: Good suction cup/holder is very steady and not shaky. Well built, plug and play as the factory setting is already good for most users. Menu and buttons are simple and easy to understand. Good user interface.
Excellent/responsive customer: Customer support by email is very responsive and genuinely interested in resolving a customer’s concerns and issues. It generally takes 1 or 2 days to response but they do get back to you. They also don’t hesitate to offer exchange a defective dash cam under warranty after trouble shootings.
Optional GPS: Quick fix GPS antenna and enables speed of a vehicle stamps on video files.
Suggestion: Use good quality micro SD cards made for frequent write/delete like SanDisk High Endurance Video Monitoring. Check once in a while to make sure the files are not corrupted. Reformat every 1 or 2 weeks. Keep one extra SD card as backup. Throw away and get a new one if SD cards keep corrupted or turns on/off the dash cam. Also, always use OEM cable and charger. Connect USB directly to the dash cam rather than through the holder or GPS antenna if you are having any power issue. Update firmware only if necessary so that you know if the dash cam experiences some issues you can spot the issue.
