Overall a solid quality product, but should be more fancy for the price point. I paid $200 at time of purchase. Would be great if it came with WiFi so I could view it from my cellphone and if the GPS mount wasn't extra $.Pros:- seems solidly built- records exterior and interior- has night vision for interior when dark, good visibility- picks up audio ( can be disabled if you like)- takes large memory cards- easy to mount- you can plug cord neatly into mount and hide wire, instead of into cam- can be hardwired into vehicle easily enough and has parking modeCons:- Should have WiFi so you could view/edit and save footage on your mobile devices and save on cloud. And be able to view remotely.- Dealing with plugging camera into your computer and going through diff file folders because of no WiFi- You have to pay extra for a mount that gives it GPS (my original was kinda loose so their sending me a free GPS which is cool of them)- Wish they had easier access to customer service like a national 800 number and how to videos on wiring so I didn’t have to figure it all out myself.- Thing shut down on me for a few days once, but was fine after I brought it inside and let it chill for some days (maybe the cold weather)I drive Uber / Lyft and needed a dashcam for my own safety, as far as possible road incidents and with passengers.I bought this camera as well as its hardwire kit and have it wired in and “Parking Mode” enabled so it can still pick up and record motions when my vehicle is off. Not really sure how that works due to living on a pretty busy street with a lot of foot and vehicle traffic so lots of motion.
I like everything about this Dashcam, especially being able to record the cabin area. Night vision provides everything I want from it. Day time recording is great! The device is small and very light weight. I purchased the recommended 256GB micro SD and it worked right out of the box. The controls are small and easy to use.If you have need for a Dashcam give this one strong consideration. I bought it to record road trips that I make. Sometimes I can't really enjoy the view due to concentrating on my driving. It is nice to sit down in the evening and review the days trips. I am pretty sure that if you make the purchase there will be NO BUYER'S REMORSE!If you are in the market for a duel camera, dashcam, this is the one!
I received my dashcam and use it in my work and personal car so I did have to purchase an extra cable and window mount. So far, knock on wood, I haven't had to use any of the video footage. I'm not too sure of the motion detection portion yet but I did purchase the cable that has that option. The picture quality is great but the rear facing camera at night is not really clear. It is really dark watching the feedback. All in all, a nice product, which even videos you as your doing your car karaoke....lol
I drive for a living and I like having the dash cam for security. On the off chance that an accident occurs (caused by something outside or inside the vehicle such as passengers) the dash cam provides a video log of exactly what transpired. I also like how small and unobtrusive it is and it is actually far lighter than I expected it to be.
Amazing dashcam! Been running this with a samsung evo 128GB sd card for months flawlessly. Great quality at night (inside and out).UPDATE: 2 years in and it seems the internal battery has gave out and no longer stores/saves the date or time which seem to effect auto loop (overwriting old with new videos). To replace the battery you need to completely take it apart and solder a new battery in. Be nice if they made the battery more accessible with a plug instead of soldering for easy replacement.UPDATE 2021: Just purchased second one after first battery died due to extreme Houston heat for 2 years. New one running great just make sure to check the manual for interior night vision mode toggle (power button quick press).
**Updated** VanTrue sent me a replacement, and the replacement does not have the issue the original had, so I've updated my review. It really is a fantastic camera, but... just be careful - IF YOU NOTICE THE TIMESTAMP RESETTING, YOUR CAMERA IS DEFECTIVE - GET IT REPLACED!**Original review below**The camera shows it is recording, but the date keeps resetting to 01/01/2018. Didn't care much because the dateline doesn't bother me. After an accident, went to pull the files to prove the other party was at fault, and the camera hadn't saved a video file since last fall (5 months ago). Reformatted the card, tried a new card, updated firmware - still the same problem. The camera is definitely defective. Easy to test if you have this problem. Leave the camera unplugged for 3-4 days if you can. If the date/time stamp resets, you have a dud, get it replaced!!
It is compact and so easy to set up.The camera looks and feels like it's a quality item. The specs on the camera are very good.I had no issues in setting up the dashcam. Routing the power cable was a breeze and plenty long enough for me to run it to the back seat 12v power outlet. There are plenty of options to set for your particular preferences. Another thing I really like is that Vantrue FB page posts helpful hints about different settings and how it affects the memory usage .The packaging was fine...not much to say about that. No difficulty with unpacking.
There’s something with the light exposure that makes license plates look like white rectangles and you can’t read them. The suction mount is very bad and keeps dropping but I remedied that by velcroing the camera onto the plastic behind the rear view mirror. Other than that, great camera for price.
Very nice camera. Love the design/look of it. Easy to view video recordings off the device by just hooking a USB cable to it and my computer. No need for a memory card reader or removing the micro sd card. Video looks very good. Interior infrared lights make everything in the car visible at night.
I purchased this camera based on reviews &recommendations. Am a Senior Citizen and admit I may not translate manual instructions as intended, but these are the worst! First off charge camera, led will be red while charging. NO! Format Sd card, if you have version 17 or higher of firmware you can do it with camera. NO! Camera shows V20, but if you try to format it gives you error and to try different version Sd Card! I bought the Sd Card recommended! This may be a great camera, but if you can't get a proper manual or if the instructions are " crap " and cant be translated into common English then it is no good! Based on my current experience I would not endorse purchasing this camera
Overall a good camera but two really annoying issues.1. Every once in a while as I'm driving the camera turns off and back on again and reboots itself. It does it for no reason.2. Random video files are corrupt and not usable. Most of the videos open but a handful will be corrupt. What if that corrupt file is the one I need? I tried to open the corrupt files with multiple media players and no luck.
There are a lot of sub $50 dashcams out there, but what you save in dollars you'll lose in quality, especially when you really need it (i.e. accident doumentation). This camera has one of the sharpest videos I've seen so far rivaling even my Sony HD camcorder. Fantastic color range and the ability to zoom in and read a license plate from about 10 car lengths away. Even night recordings are clear and stunning. I will not move my vehicle an inch without this product running.Be sure to add the optional GPS mount. For the slight additional cost it makes this device 10X more valuable when it comes to documentation. Though the free GPS software is pretty bare bone, it's nice having all your information in a single interface. Using the GPS mount and free software you get to view the stream, your speed and your location at the time of the recording displayed on a map in the corner of the playback interface. If you drive, you should have a dash cam. And if you're going to have a dash cam, invest in quality. And this dash cam delivers. I don't bother with the interior cam or the sound recording options, but I have tested them and they are both options that offer the same high quality as the main camera. I also invested in the power installation kit to free up my power port on my console. A bit of a bear to install, but it makes for a nice clean look. I appreciate the g-shock sensor technology, but let's pray I never need to incorporate it! I'm currently using a 128G Samsung EVO card for storage and at the highest quality resolution (front cam only), I can store just under 20 hours of recorded video. Just ordered a 256G EVO and hope to get 50 hrs before the oldest recordings get overwritten. If you're looking for quality, options and a device that will actually assist in the event if an accident, make the investment count. Hopefully I'll never need this evidence, but it's a good feeling that if I do, I have this product available to chronicle the event.Update 06/17/2019 - Been using every day since November '18 and it seems to just get better with age! Have had no issues at all. Quality is still excellent and really enjoy having this thing "ride along" with me every foot I've traveled since it was purchased. Getting hot here in the Phoenix area, but the optional GPS mount I bought makes it very easy to slide in and out, so when I know it will be sitting in the sun for a while I just slide it out of the mount and pop it in my center console. Seven months in and I still give it 5 starts. I've attached a short video from a nice sunny day. Note the GPS info banner embedded at the bottom of the sample.(Had to find a 60 second clip where I actually stayed close to the speed limit! No need to self-incriminate!)
I have gone through many dash cams trying to find the right one. I work at night so I needed something with a good night vision. This is the second model of a Vantrue I have owned and this one is way better than the previous model. If you are looking for top of the line and being able to record inside your vehicle you can't go wrong with this one.
HI,I have only been using this for one day. Let me share a few things. My reason for purchasing this is to have a video and audio record of my rideshare experience to protect me and as evidence in case something bad happens. Having footage of bad drivers is also interesting. In that aspect, this camera seems to work far superior to anything I have seen or read about. The packaging is very well thought out. Elegant but not excessive. I only mention this because the cam is well protected and since you are buying one of the best dual dash cams... Ultimately I could care less about how it looks and am more into function.... However, it certainly adds a bit of flair and pride in the product and adds to the experience and image of the product. VERY well done Vantrue. I like it a lot. The manual is well thought out, is in color, and provides information on all functions. The average user should have no problems figuring things out, however some of the text is small, reading glasses required. Mount: I do like the twist lock feature of the suction cup windshield mount and the way it connects to the cam. Much better than my other two dashcams. I love the way the power connects to the suction cup mount rather than the cam. My first cam had a widespread issue where the power adapter port would separate from the motherboard enough to make it stop working frequently until total failure. Not this one. The only thing I do not like about it so far: The connector is a mini usb port rather than a microUSB port. Only because I have already wired a microUSB port to my rear view mirror area. I have purchased a Micro to mini converter which makes it slightly more bulky, but I do not have to rewire a new cable into the car and it is behind the rear view mirror. The mount is very stable, there is absolutely NO rattling... the video is smoother and the recording sound quality is EXCELLENT!Picture Quality: I have reviewed some of the footage from the first day, recording inside and outside the car. It did rain most of the day but the images during the day inside were phenomenal, as were the ones out side. (using dual camera mode, which is all I use.) The night pictures illuminated inside the car very well and you could see in the back seat... unlike the others.. even with IR. The outside pictures were very clear even at night.I have attached a night pic from the inside, with me blocked out and a late day video, but it was very dreary out. The recording had the sound removed and the snip spliced out... so the original was a little better. I will try to add better later, but so far this camera does an excellent job. Why the N2 Pro? The reason I chose this one was due to the reviews and images shown of the INSIDE camera at night. I had a Nucam, but it did not last and the inside pictures were not even close to clear at night.Motion Detection: I would like to rate the motion detection. I assume they are talking about the G sensors that automatically lock images so they do not get deleted... such as if you are hit or have to slam on the brakes. There are 4 settings including off and three sensitivities. There is also a parking protection mode. Perhaps I can experiment and bring back my findings here. I can tell you it works, as some images were locked. I had it on medium. I may set it to lower sensitivity. If things change, I will come back and revise the rating. This camera is smaller than I had anticipated, which is great because it blocks my vision less. There are quite a few other features including a video port, which do not concern me and they are listed. Nice if you need them or want them.Legal: I do have signs all over stating that I have camera surveillance in the car. Check your laws.Support: Register your dashcam, it is easy. I had to ask where the serial number is. They answered within two hours of sending in an email... late night. So far so good. Excellent in fact. I have not been influenced in any way to provide a good or bad review. While the shape of the camera is a little odd, it appears as though vantrue has really put a lot of though into it's design... and it really shows from the second you have it in your hand... it actually looks quite good too.Lastly: a 32GB card in dual dash mode seems to last about 3 hours before overwriting. That being said, I just purchased a 128 GB card that should afford me most of a 12 hour day. Do get a good one.
Bought in November. Had a minor issue that wouldn't go away. Occasional screen freeze on power up. Daily email exchange (try this, report back, now try this). No go. Replaced, no questions asked! Sent new unit right out after seeing screen shot (proof) of bad unit going their way. Can't ask for anything better than that!
This is an amazing dash camera, the quality of reccording is great, the night vision mode is working perfect, easy to install and understand how to work the device. Special shoutout to Kelly, for the impeccable customer service provided by this individual, they’ve made me feel like family.
Dash cam arriced right on time, easy to setup, i used a 128GB SD card which caused me a little issue trying to format it to Fat 32, other than that it was a breeze to setup. Its actually smaller in size than i envisioned but happy as it fits right under the rearview mirror. I've used it for about a week now and traveling all over florida its been great, easy to take down when were out of the vehicle of we put the shade up, has great picture quality too. Buttons are a little small but once you get used to what they are its not a problem. Great Product. I would but it again too
I have used 3 dashcams before this one, and this Vantrue model is the nicest dashcam I have owned. Crisp video and audio clarity, along with being easy to set up and remove if you need to quickly upload footage from the camera.
I am technologically challenged but even for me this was very easy to set-up. Takes sharp clear pics (daytime) and haven't tried it at night yet. When you start out driving on the camera is powered on the display shows what it's recording. After a bit the display goes blank, however it's still recording (I kept stopping to "turn it back on" thinking it had shut itself off) so don't worry when that happens. The manual is easy to read, which is a big help. It was more expensive than most others I saw but after reading the reviews on the others and also on this one I was convinced that you get what you pay for. Happy I got this camera, and recommend it highly. Even the suction cup mount works great!
Recommended for anyone who drives a car. Protect yourself from bad drivers. This dash cam is easy to use, it is clear during the day and night and can record interior, exterior and sound. Easy to download footage to your computer. Purchase this and you'll feel better driving.
-Initial Review-PROS:The picture quality is stunning on both cameras. The rear camera transitions nicely from IR to Non-IR. The UI is good and firmware upgrades were easy. The suction mount is very firm. The buttons have a nice tactile feel. The microphone picks up great quality for its size. The quick-remove clip that holds on to the dash cam is firm but doesn't require you to pinch the heck out of the mount to release it. It handles my Samsung EVO Select U3 128GB card just fine. You can use the dash cam as your microSD card reader (just plug in the usb to a computer). The files come out as 2 separate video files that are synced perfectly.CONS:I wish the Exposure could be set separately for each camera (0 for Front cam, -1 for Rear cam). I was hoping the suction mount had a steeper axis but I got it to work for my car. Right now, the only settings for the screen timeout is 1/3/5min and off. Why not add a 10-second option? The rear camera can only be tilted 90deg (the default position is at the 45 deg position). No wifi/app connection (OTG cable helps this problem).Update: (5/5) The exposure can now be be set separately. The Texas heat will dislodge the suction cup if the camera is left on (while parked). I don't have this issue while driving. I use the Samsung EVO Select SD Card 128GB since the beginning and it hasn't given me any problems. Still happy with my purchase
After doing a lot of research and owning a cheap dash-cam, I decided to go with Vantrue N2 Pro. The product is well designed and the video quality is perfect both in daylight and night. I'm using it on my Honda-CRV 2017 and I got the wiring kit as well, the wiring process was pretty easy (I did it myself). It fit well in my fusebox. I've attached the wire to an always-on fuse so that I can use the parking mode when I park it outside. It also has a built-in rechargeable battery that can be used if you don't want to do the wiring. The motion detection works great and it stops 10 after 10 seconds if no more motion is detected, which helps saving space on the micro SD card.
The product itself is great working properly, nothing to worry had some difficulty to play the video on my mac I can only play the “loop” video of 5 minIf it’s not a loop I can’t play a video of over 20 minutes didn’t try on a PCI’ve been using this product for about 3 weeks nowAnd living in California I was looking for a Heat resistance camera, base on the reviews this was it, but after a couple of weeks I see the material on the camera changing check the pictures:After seeing this I tint my windshield with a 40% heat filter hopefully it will save it, but the camera still working properly no issues, I just don’t want to melt one day :)))Any suggestions!?
I was recently struck from behind in a 45 MPH by a car going about 100 MPH. You can see me trying to get out of the way and you can see the wreck of the other car. I am amazed that the man was uninjured. With that video, there was no trouble from the insurance company on who was at fault. I feel so much safer knowing that I am covered and that my actions are being video recorded. That was in another vehicle and I bought 2 of them for my own cars.
I really like and wanted this Dam cam for a while now, and was able to pick it up on a lighting deal for $64.00 off the $199 price! I also picked up the hardwire kit to be able to use the parking mode feature. It works great and got an 18-month warranty on it for registering it on Venture's website.
Been installed in my mom's Audi for almost three years now and working great. Just have to remember to install updates once in a while. Updating the Cam is a bit of a pain but once you know how it's not too bad. I used iMac to simply drop the update file folder into Cam folder once connected through USB. Night vision is great and so is motion detection. My only complaint, like others have noted, is the mount was too flimsy. But I tightened the mounting bracket screws and now it feels stable. Overall seems to be a solid Cam with very wide capture angle on both cameras.
Great product, works perfectly, just as advertised! I bought two of these, one for the front and one for the rear for added security while rideshare driving. I also must say that their customer support is outstanding. You get a fast response when you contact them. Very helpful and friendly in their communications. So rare these days!
There are some deviations in the promotion, I have not used it yet, but the product introduction suggests that you buy another suction cup and wire. I bought another suction cup and wire according to the suggestion. I found that the machine was originally equipped with these. This is misleading consumption, I don’t know. What is the quality of this product? I only give 1 gram of star to this misleading behavior.I installed this Vantrue N2 Pro last night. Fortunately, there is a Chinese menu. I can clearly figure out what to do. I found a serious problem. There is no clear menu for you to keep the "backsight lens" work. It is easy to fall into the "backsight". Lens "a single lens machine that doesn't work, I want to ask you: The selling point of this product is "double lens". The crowd who chooses it has clearly told you that they need dual lens to monitor the situation of the two parts inside and outside the vehicle. . Why do you make it into such a troublesome menu, it is very difficult to enter the dual lens state, the only way is to restore the factory settings, but there is a problem: once the factory settings are restored, other functions may disappear, there are several Self-contradictory design.I need to: a large capacity card to record the inside and outside of the vehicle for a few months (absolutely not illegal use of content), search by time, a unit of a few minutes. It is necessary to have both lenses working at all times. Is this a problem?
So literally within hours of installing a dash cam in my new car, I almost get hit by a guy that decides to move into my lane with no blinker or notification, almost slamming into my car.If he would have hit me, I would have proof of the accident (including his license plate in the event he just took off).Seriously everyone should buy a car dash cam for safety and insurance purposes. Well worth the investment!
Need night vision in front ! but couldn't see any thing after when I checked it.really I don't see any thing like while I watch on video.i think it's defective or something !
Good product, using it for night time taxi driving in nyc,Plugging and unplugging off the suction cup is very convenient. The picture quality is okey, I use dual mode all the time, I have tried using 1440p front only but to me it wasn’t anything out of ordinary, u can clearly see what’s happening on the road but in terms of u will be able to read the on the go car registrations, not gonna happen.only the one that u would pull up on.Microphone is like made by apple or what, amazing audio recording ability this n2pro has...I m using 256gb, working okey. The date and time that u gonna set on this product while it’s powered by ur car if it’s not 24/7 power supply than this product will reset the date and time after 24hrs of continuos no power supply. For the money it’s good solid product,And highly recommend getting that seperately sold gps mount only because the usb connecting position on god suction mount compared to non gos suction mount that comes with the n2pro is very neat,The gps suction mount has vertical connecting spot whereas non gos suction mount has horizontal connection spot.To me it just looks neat.Thanks.
Great product & service! Decided to purchase 2nd Cam for other car. Kept forgetting to move existing Cam to other car when driving, so purchased 2nd Cam, one for each!
I like the fact that has two cameras and will it be better if you guys have something to put I away like a carrying pouch or like a glasses carrying bag that way doesn’t fall or get scratch . I used it for rideshared rides
Wanted a dashcam for my wife's car. She doesn't drive for Uber/Lyft or anything but drivers around here are nuts. Video quality is good in both/day night. Can read license plates etc. Thinking of getting a second one to replace the much older dashcam in my car
Awesome Buy Dash Cam that’s excellent picture quality for the 180 degrees driver exterior view and with both camera being nightvision for the car’s interior dash cam as well! Vanture N2 Pro is money well spent! Out the box it’s very easy to install.I bought my Vanture N2 Pro with the Vanture Hardwire Kit and it was very easy to install. It took me a total of 30 mins. I put a 128gb MicroSD memory card in it. Features are G-Sensor, Parking Mode, Snapshots, time/date/your license plate number stamp, it records sound which is very clean, easy toggle buttons to set to your preferred settings and a suction cup mount that is rotatable!
After having a few close calls with potential accidents, I purchased the vantru n2 dashcam for my peice of mind. I was specifically looking for a model that was both forward facing and rear facing in one unit. The reviews on this model made me purchase it, but after using it for 6 months I have to agree and give 5 starts as well! The pictures are amazing! Both front and back cameras produce great images in day and night. The auto detection works to start recordings perfectly. It mounts well and it does not interfere with visibility while driving. My husband recently got side swiped and didnt have the camera and regretted it. So we just ordered a second unit for his car as well!
The Dash cam's battery stopped working after 3 months. When it is plugged in it powers on then when I unplug it it shuts down. when it was new, it would stay powered on. Customer service was good though, 8 months later they will still refund me. I am now returning it because the camera stopped working all together.
After only 6 months (ordered July 7, 2018) the battery that is intended for use to keep the settings has died. It used to power down when turning off the vehicle, now it just turns off immediately and when putting power back to it all of the settings are back to default. I have had much better service life from some of these $40 dash cams!!If it would have lasted longer, I would have bought more and higher-end dash cams from Vantrue.Vantrue, are you willing to make this right with me? If so, I'll adjust my review to reflect what happens next. If the review doesn't change, then readers will know nothing was done to write about.I will now attempt to make contact with Vantrue.UPDATE April 13, 2019After a few email exchanges with Vantrue, they did warranty replace the dash cam. I had to email them the receipt from the post office showing that I had sent the defective unit back, and then they promptly sent out the replacement unit. The replacement came with the most current firmware installed. It has worked fine so far. We will see if it lasts any longer than it did last time.I raised my rating to two stars because of the replacement.
This camera is really impressive. I drive for both Uber and Lyft. I bought a cheap 60 dollar no name camera before. It didn’t do crap in the dark. This camera however not only sees me with amazing night mode technology but it picks everyone up in the dark facing forward. It is very easy to use as well. If you need assistance, the customer service with Vantrue is easy to contact.Dislike: the lens does not have a cover. Be careful and you should be fine.
This dash cam is amazing. The picture quality is clear and bright. I have already captured two hit and runs. The people I shared the video with were so grateful. Vantrue N2 Pro makes an amazing gift. If I did uber or Lyft it would be perfect with the passenger safety cam. I can't wait to see what products Vantrue puts out in the future.
This is an outstanding camera. It has a DUAL 1080P dash cam and a powerful CPU. It has an advanced Sony Exmor IMX323 (rear cam) and OV4689 (front cam) image sensor, the N2 Pro simultaneously captures the road ahead (170°) and cabin (140°) at 1080P@30fps. I highly recommend this camera.
I liked the specs and bought two units for 2 different family cars. One died after about 3 months of use. One still works after almost a year. There are a couple of dislikes about the design. Power is delivered via the micro slot on the mount, which can easily be broken if you accidentally yank on the cord. The body is connected to the mount via a swiveling arm that cant be locked in place. I overcame these two flaws with tape and made it functional, but it just ended up looking ugly. Also, in really hot weather, the suction cup mounting is not ideal, as it can fall off quite easily.
Works pretty much as expected for my use case. Whihh is just to have it record when driving after I turn my car on.The night vision seems fine to me. I can see all the way to the back of my back seats and even out the window a slight bit.Don't expect it to replace having a separate dash cam watching your rear though. The picture quality both at 1080p and higher is pretty clear. In general, like most cameras on glass when it rains it seems to struggle a bit with focusing. But, again, to be expected. The main thing I'd like to make clear is make Sure you have a fast enough rated SD card for recording. I was using a previous 128GB SD card but it didn't have much in terms of Speed certification and didn't work well with actually saving recordings / seemingly deleting recordings itself. I bought a "SanDisk 128GB Extreme microSD UHS-I Card with Adapter - U3 A2 - SDSQXA1-128G-GN6MA" from Amazon and it works fine now no issues record everything and doesn't randomly delete videos.
A dashcam is one of the best investments I’ve made. Over the last couple of years two people have hit me, and of course both tried to claim that it was all my fault. Having video proof made both situations easy and stress-free with no “he said, she said” arguments.I was expecting this camera to be a bit on the large side, but was happy to see it was smaller than I expected and blends in nicely with part of it fitting behind my rear view mirror. The suction cup mechanism also seems well designed so I have no worries about it falling off easily (I saw other reviews complaining about the mount, but I think it’s been updated).Though I don’t drive for any ride sharing services, I still like the inward facing camera since it helps to show traffic behind me and to the sides as well. Other cameras might require you to mount the rear facing camera separately, so it’s nice to still have that extra protection without the extra work. The settings and configuration are intuitive and easy to navigate, so it was nice to be able to find the setup options I wanted without any hassle or having to read a book of instructions (though it does come with instructions as well, I just haven’t read it). I’m also glad they made it easy to remove the SD card without a lot of hassle.Overall it’s a great camera and brings some peace of mind knowing you have an additional “insurance policy”. I noticed some of the videos posted here look pretty bad and choppy, so I've uploaded a short clip that hopefully Amazon won't compress too much. The actual video quality is MUCH better than the pixelated ones I saw in other reviews here.*edit* Sadly Amazon is still compressing the video so it's extremely pixelated.
For roughly a year all was good and well, but now the SD card won't stay locked in place so I keep having a warning that pops up telling me to insert it and it will auto turn off. Tried a couple other cards but no luck. While the picture quality is awesome, and for the time it was locking the card, it's easily one of the better cameras on the market I think I just got unlocky with mine potentially due to leaving it in my car through summer and winter
I'm a rideshare driver. This is my favorite dashcam. Picture quality both day and night is great. Sound also is high quality. Highly recommend to anyone wanting a dashcam. Majority of fellow rideshare drivers use and recommend this camera
I like the Camera. The resolution, sound and viewing angle are all excellent. My issue, however, is that I can't seem to get the driving speed turned on and the attachment to the windshield does not work well. Simply put, it frequently detaches from the windshield. It may be an issue with the unit I purchased. My experience has been the loss of suction over relatively short periods of time. After about an 8 hour period, the mounted suction falls off even without the camera attached.
The best experience I have had on Amazon yet. This dashcam work perfectly with no issues and far exceeds what I asked for. I looked at all the cameras and after careful research and seeing the actual Vantrue website I decided to buy it. No regrets from the camera, it does everything I asked for and more. The customer service and website chat are easy to navigate and they are extremely helpful. I will definitely buy from them again for my other 2 cars, 1 motorcycle and my bicycle. They have mounts and accessories for them all.
The video quality of the camera is pretty nice. Search for GCOMFX on YouTube to see my sample videos. No really, please do. I actually caught the Oscar Mayer Weinermobile running a red light this morning! LOLThe 1080 video quality actually forces me to blur out the “innocent” drivers license plates before I upload red light runners to YouTube. You can make a pretty cool time lapse out of a trip for a travel video with it too.The microphone is actually astonishing how much it picks up inside and outside the vehicle. You really could vlog with it. It’s so sensitive it picks up a strange digital interface quietly in the background. A little background music and it’s easy to cover up. I’m going to try to run my power cord differently to see if I can get it to clear up.My biggest complaint is the windshield mount mine came with. Over time it has worn at the pivot point which causes it to swivel under hard breaking or acceleration. I’m going to try their updated version they offer with a built in GPS for location and speed display. Hopefully it cures the wobble issue. They also offer a rear view mirror mount that looks like it would be much more solid. I’ll try to add those to my review down the road.
I love this camera. It's true when they say "you get what you pay for." I tried to go cheap several times by buying cheap cameras, but they often died or malfunctioned within the first 3 months. I decided to invest in this camera, and I'd made the best decision since then. It's been over a year and this camera still works perfectly during the day and night. It records video and audio simultaneously, in case you wanna know. If you get into a high impact like car collision, it automatically saves the video clip of that moment and auto lock it so you cant delete it unless you decode it. Somehow it knows how to measure the impact of the collision to do so. U can save any clips you want with a quick touch. It can loop as well n will auto shut once u turn off ur engine n turn on automatically once u turn ur engine one if u configure it to do so. The only downside to it is that it's not wifi saved, so everything is saved on the sd card inserted into camera. In the event that someone breaks into your car, they can still the sd card n camera n u wont know who did it or.... if someone rear end u n u fall off a cliff n ur car burns up, the trill is lost lol.
Infrared sensor works great. Image was so much blue, but the problem was fixed with an update provided by Vantrue. I just have a month using the camera, and in the meantime it deserves 5 stars. Hopefully it will work great for long time.
Great camera and customer service. I had an issue with the mount that it came with so I emailed Vantrue Customer Service and to my surprise, they emailed me right back saying that they would send me updated mounts. I'm really happy with my purchase and two thumbs up for great customer service. Thank you Kelly.
Easy to set up. Format chip......NO PROBLEM. Play back (used 5 min loop) excellent. Play back from computer.....PERFECT!FYI"I am not getting any kick-backs from this company. I do not work for them. I paid cash out-of-pocket for this camera. No special discounts or coupons were offered to me.I also want to note that I had purchased two other dash cams and this one blew them away. Dollar for dollar this IS THE BEST DASH CAM to buy."
I had done a lot of research before settling on the N2 Pro. My wife was in a accident earlier this year and I wish we had one then to prove it was the other drivers fault. So far pretty good. Lightweight but not in the "feels cheep" way. Good quality video/pictures but wish it would record 60 fps with the dual cams active. I am still messing with the best location to mount it. Only downside I'm having is navigating the menu. Took some digging through the manual to find that you can't enter the menu if the cam is recording. Still testing the auto recording, doesn't seem to be recording automatically when the car starts. The potential for 5 stars is there once I figure it all out. We have a weekend trip to Seattle soon to really test it out.
You simply cannot beat this Dashcam for the value it provides.Super sharp 1080p videos for both front & rear cameras.Super easy to use.Very good audio recording.Excellent nighttime recording.Pretty much plug and play. I didn’t have to touch the default setting.I have this installed on my Ferrari F430 Spider and I am 100% happy.I purchased a 12V to USB adapter so I can hardwire it to my car and not deal with visible cigarette lighter cord cable. The only thing I can recommend is an app so it’s easier to change value if the user chooses to change default settings.Highly recommended. 5 Stars / Two thumbs up.
I bought this camera over a year ago and it has been an indispensable part of my Uber driving business. Great video quality @ 1080 and the sound is decent, too. I am impressed that I can get something like this that is so easy to install for only $200. I've got a 256 GB microSD card in it that holds about 2-3 days worth of footage at a time before it starts recording over past clips. About a month after I installed it, I was sitting in traffic and some guy rear ended me and although I was fine, my car was a total loss. It was extremely helpful to have the footage of the accident. I got an insurance payout that exceeded my expectations. After about a year of using the camera everyday, the camera had some malfunction that left the start screen blinking on the LED screen when I turned it on. I contacted customer service and they had me send it back and then they immediately sent me a new one. Happy customer
Everything you've read about this camera is amazing. I absolutely love the camera. The problem simply arises from the IR Cabin camera not allowing my amazing auto dimming mirror to work at night.Auto dim mirrors work with two light sensors, one from the front and one from the back. The front one needs to read "dark" and the rear one needs to read "light" in order to auto dim. The issue with the Vantrue is that the IR light to take the nighttime cabin video trips this light sensor (the light sensor reads all light including IR which is not in the visible human eye spectrum) therefore I now need to manually cover the front mirror sensor at night for my auto dim to work.Which as you probably guessed... makes my auto dim mirror and manual dim now lol. I realize I shouldn't ding the N2 for screwing up my auto dim mirror, but compatibility for this car feature was not really stated in any of my research. In the end, the dash cam is amazing for both front and cabin day and night. But yes, not auto dim mirror compatible :(
I've had this dash cam for a while. It has been able to go through heat, cold, rain, snow, and everything you can think of. It was easy to install and easy to use. Highly recommended for anyone with a car, especially those doing ride share!!
Product impression: It does not look cheap. It’s well built and the outside feels like rubberized. I left it in a car through very hot summer and still no issue.
Very good resolution: See the photos. Both interior and exterior resolutions are good. Interior of my car is black leather and the person is wearing dark blue jacket but the camera still shows a good image. I redacted the face but details are pretty good. Vehicle license plate numbers can be read on 1080P (outside)/1080P(inside). The menu also offers a higher resolution but then it does not offer dual camera views.
Easy setup: Good suction cup/holder is very steady and not shaky. Well built, plug and play as the factory setting is already good for most users. Menu and buttons are simple and easy to understand. Good user interface.
Excellent/responsive customer: Customer support by email is very responsive and genuinely interested in resolving a customer’s concerns and issues. It generally takes 1 or 2 days to response but they do get back to you. They also don’t hesitate to offer exchange a defective dash cam under warranty after trouble shootings.
Optional GPS: Quick fix GPS antenna and enables speed of a vehicle stamps on video files.
Suggestion: Use good quality micro SD cards made for frequent write/delete like SanDisk High Endurance Video Monitoring. Check once in a while to make sure the files are not corrupted. Reformat every 1 or 2 weeks. Keep one extra SD card as backup. Throw away and get a new one if SD cards keep corrupted or turns on/off the dash cam. Also, always use OEM cable and charger. Connect USB directly to the dash cam rather than through the holder or GPS antenna if you are having any power issue. Update firmware only if necessary so that you know if the dash cam experiences some issues you can spot the issue.
