I bought this a while ago and realized it doesn't work solidly. Seriously, who checks their camera every day. The point is to have something working gin the back ground and when you need it you check and it's done its' job and recorded the last few hours of driving. This has not been doing that. It records for a while then stops, I cant even be sure for how long it works, I don't have time for that. For example, I pulled the camera to check something that happened yesterday and the files on the card are all dated from 4 months ago. Most of them are corrupted and wouldn't play. The ones that worked looked fine, but it doesn't help me today. I read some of the reviews and they mentioned a firmware update, I went to the website and tried that, followed the instructions and the camera is not acting the way they say it should (not updating automatically). I emailed support and am waiting for a response, after which I will update this review. My previous camera was only a 1 channel but worked flawlessly for several years with no issues and at 1/4th the price. I wanted to upgrade to a 2 channel system and decided on this. I'm going to look for a different solution, as I still want more features.
The N2 Pro, is amazing! the quality when recording both the road AND inside the cabin is truly 1080p! The colors show well, and the night vision is crisp. Only wish is that both cameras could work be switched to work with a higher resolution like the front one, but hey this camera more than makes up for that!
Vantrue has done an extraordinary job building quality dash cameras. They have several models out there, but my review is a comparison of the Vantrue N2 Pro (the newer model) and the Vantrue N2.[In the pictures I have attached, the newer model, Vantrue Pro, is pictured either on the right or on the bottom. When pictured alone it is the Pro model. All video stills are from the Vantrue N2 Pro.]I was already thoroughly satisfied with the Vantrue N2. I've had that model for just about 3 years. I desire the night vision feature in the newer model & purchased it. The older model I have to my sister. The quality of the pictures and videos are second to none. It came with detailed English instructions on how to install & operate the camera. I did do a review on the older model if you want to look that up.The Vantrue N2 Pro is different in that it has a night vision mode for the inside camera. This is excellent if you are an Uber driver & would like your cabin filmed quietly & clearly. While both models record sound inside the cabin, it is an added benefit of the Pro to have the night vision mode to be able to see clearly in grayscale what's going on inside. The older model would just show you a black interior with sound unless in some way the cabin is illuminated. Another difference in the 2 cameras is in the newer model they get rid of the audio plug in jack on the side of the camera. I never used this so it didn't bothering me.The only negative that I noticed in the Vantrue N2 Pro is that the night vision mode tends to get stuck on and doesn't transition in the auto mode as it should consistently. This is the reason for my 4 out of 5 stars rating for the night vision. There are a few minor differences in the 2 cameras besides night vision. The N2 Pro records in a max loop of 5 minutes, whereas the N2 can do up to 10 minutes. (Keep in mind the N2 Pro can record up to 20 minutes but with that setting, it will NOT overwrite on the SD card & when full, it stops recording). Another difference is the "non-use power off" feature on the N2 Pro has a max of 3 minutes whereas the N2 has a max of 5 minutes. So if you want the recording to keep going longer after your car has been turned off the N2 will last longer before automatically shutting off.Overall, I feel the night vision mode on the vantrue N2 Pro makes it worth the additional money. I look forward to enjoying the quality workmanship of the Vantrue N2 Pro for many years to come.
At first I felt the screen was too small but once I started using it turned out to be perfect. Not too small and not to big to distract you while driving.
Good camera, but it keeps turning itself off then back on every hour or so. Even when I turn the camera off manually after about 45 minutes or so, it turns itself on. I thought maybe my car’s cigarette lighter wasn’t supplying enough power, so I tried it in my other car and same result. I have the Samsung SD card that’s recommended, and formatted it several times, but no luck.
I drive Uber & Lyft and having good quality dash cam to record the road in front of your as well as inside the cab of your vehicle is a must. The Van true N2 Pro nailed it with both high quality video day and night.
The camera is easy to set up and works very well. I have only used it for a few days but so far I am impressed with the clarity of its video and the 170-degree view it provides. I did a lot of research as to which camera to purchase and I think I made a great choice. Two things I would change are the length of recorded segments. I bought this as a way to monitor the driving of teenage children. 20 minutes even though it just opens a new file and continues to record it is inconvenient. The other Item I would change is the way the suction cup attaches. there is a swinging lever the engages the suction. When deployed the arm is in a straight line with the camera. When relaxed for removal the arm is off 90 degrees to the side. If this could be reversed or the mechanism changed it would aid in placing the camera higher up on the window.
This is my 4th dash camera and by far the best. My only 2 complaints are the night vision lights don't cover the corners of the image and that this camera seems to run down my battery. I have a pretty large battery, so I feel that this should not happen. I highly suggest getting a voltage regulator to run between the camera and battery.
I first purchased this camera in April of 2019. As I'm Uber driver I thought that this would be an excellent accessory to have in my vehicle given the amount of driving I anticipated doing. I installed the camera with no hiccups. HOWEVER, shortly after installation, I noticed that the internal battery would not hold a charge. I contacted the dealer (Customer Support) via email (no 800 number as they are in China. You only get one email reply per 24hr period). They suggested I download new firmware (After looking at previously posted reviews seems that they require you to download 'new firmware' quite often) and this did not solve the problem. So, I lived with it envy with no resolution to my issue. Going on I noticed that the date time stamp would reset to zero on its own. I again contacted CS via email. And, yep, you got it, they suggested I download new firmware. Again, I tried it and it worked for a while and then started to fail again the same way. Again, I decided to live with it. So, about a month ago, I noticed that the IR lights used for night vision in the cabin were no longer working. Complete blackout inside the car at night. Not good for a ride share driver. Yet again, I contacted CS via email. This time they asked me to provide them with proof of purchase so they could determine if the product was still under warranty. I provided them with the order invoice and they came back a day later telling me that it was out of warranty. It was, but by a month. Well, I guess a month is a month is a month. BUT, I was hoping that given the fact that I had began contacting them with problems that were never permanently resolved early on, thy would provide me with courtesy warranty support. Nope! Just a humble apology. Oh, they did say they'd be happy to sell me another one at a discounted price. Well, I paid $200 for this and they are new selling well below that purchase price on Amazon. Based on my experience with these guys I bet they think that that would be the 'discount'. Bottom line recommendation: I would venture a guess that if you did some research, you'd find a comparable camera for less than what I paid for it. Yes, the 18 mo warranty is nice, but I don't get the feeling that they fully stand behind their product(s) given my feedback and from what I see on other reviews. Am I pissed? Yes. But mainly disappointed. I guess I'll continue to use the camera until it completely fails, which may not be a long time. Then I'll have to decide what my next step is. If and when I buy a new camera, I will do my best to make sure I don't buy anything from China. Quality is low and products fail often. I would not recommend this product or anything from Vantrue.
I have their N1 camera and I loved it but I thought I should get an upgrade and also interested in this Dual Camera feature. Came in a nice packaging with a nice manual guide which I don't need because the interface is almost the same as my N1. I'm surprise how compact the camera is, in the picture I assumed it will be bigger than my N1. Just like my experience with the N1, the video quality is very great and I'm amazed especially with the dual cameras, both video qualities are great! I love how you can adjust the focus on each cameras.I just wish Vantrue will start making an app for the iPhone so I can view or download videos from the camera directly to the iPhone wirelessly. Overall I'm loving this camera.
The camera works really well, the quality is great and it's been very reliable. What isn't so great is the mount. First, there's no click when you connect the camera and mount, it never locks into place so it can just slide out.The ball joint for the mount has zero way to tighten it, and so the camera just flops around everywhere. I even went so far as to purchase another mount made my the same company that had that locking feature and the connector was a different width and didn't fit so I'm out even more money.I wish they would take a little more time to design a mount that functions better because that's a huge Achilles heel in the design. I probably wouldn't recommend this camera to anyone simply because regardless of how good the device may be, if it can't reliably capture what you need and stay locked it's useless.
For the price this is an amazing camera. At night time the camera picks everything up - Interior camera switches to IR which stills allows for you to see everything in the cabin no matter the lighting. You do have the option to disable the interior camera so it becomes only forward facing.Pros: Great Camera qualityDual cameraWith mount can record speedEasy set up - Plug and PlayLooks cool sitting on my windscreenCons:Not a fan of the Power cord. Requires you take up the cigarette lighter completely. To get around this I bought a 10ft black cord and plugged it into my wireless transmitter.
I was excited to get this product but I've had a few issues. I noticed that even though it was showing to be recording it was not being stored on the memory card. Since then my unit will not power up. I'm working with support to get this resolved. I'm hopeful because I do feel like this is a good product. I will say the images on the small screen are hard to see but there really isn't much room to make them larger.
A little expensive but it seems to be of good quality. The picture quality is very satisfactory for both cameras and the night vision works good. I drive Uber part time and had a dashcam already which I was very happy with but I was looking for a camera that would record the interior of the car as well. I could not find one that is made for only the interior so I went with the Vanture N2 Pro as it comes highly recommended by other drivers.Pros:1) Dual lens with high resolution on both and night vision2) 170 degrees wide angle for out facing camera and 140 degrees for the interior cover almost everything.3) F2.0 interior and F1.8 forward facing lens aperture with infrared night vision captures descent picture quality at night4) Easy to setup and use menu options5) Very high ( up to 256GB ) SD card capacity6) Micro USB connects to the mount ( makes it easier to remove the camera without taking off the wire)7) 18 month warrantyCons:1) Battery instead of capacitor ( worried about hot summer days )2) GPS optional. (at this price it should be built in )3) Small screen (sufficient for making menu adjustments but not for viewing videos)4) No WiFi ( so connecting via USB to a computer or taking out the SD card are the options)5) The charger cable connects to cigarette lighter ( If you only have one in your car You can't charge anything else while the camera is connected ) but the top of the charger slided over and there is one USB port for charging additional item.6) Suction mount ( So far okay but afraid it would fall off )
Received the dash cam a few days ago and was working perfectly. I was amazed as to how good the "Parking Mode" function worked. Picked up the slightest movement anywhere in front and behind camera (when in dual camera mode). Was very happy until I decided to perform the firmware update. We followed the update instructions exactly as noted in the Vantru Support Page and after update it would not indicate the new firmware on the camera info screen even though it seemed to have gone thru the update process correctly. I reinstalled the camera in the car and noticed it would not go into parking mode when we tried to manually select it. After we were able to select Parking Mode (took several button pushes) the camera would not record unless you put your hand up against the windshield and waved it around (like a mad man) in order to get Parking Mode to activate. The same with inside camera. It took lots of movements before it activated. Before the update attempt the Parking Mode was the most impressive function on this camera, after the update (attempt) Parking Mode no longer worked properly. We sent it back to Amazon for a replacement and this time we will NOT be doing a firmware update..... so we recommend skipping the firmware update if your camera is working properly out of the boxUPDATE 5/18/19: We received the camera and, against my better judgement, we installed the new firmware. We again began to have the same issue with the camera but Vantrue came thru like a champ and helped us restore the firmware since it was no longer listed on their website. The customer service was outstanding. Vantrue helped us pinpoint the issue and took it upon themselves to update their website (within hours of my communication with them) in order to allow us (and anyone else having issues) to download it. The camera is now up and running perfectly. The Parking Mode, which we use a lot, works great. In daylight nothing seems to escape the Parking Mode sensor, even the cabin camera picks up movements on the sides (outside) of the vehicle. At night objects must be closer to car in order for Parking Mode to pick it up but still works very well
I Purchased this camera on December 28, 2018 my brother was driving my vehicle I February. he got a ticket by CHP for a speeding ticket . The officer said he was supposedly going 88 mph. When I reviewed the video HQ the video showed that he was going 64 mph. The judge saw the video he dismissed the ticket.I had a car accident a month ago. The person ran the stop sign and hit me from behind . When we pulled over first out of his mouth it’s your fault. I said nope I have you on camera then he change his tune and said sorry. The officer and insurance company saw the video cleared my self and claim other person add fault. $250 for the camera take my money again.
I am quite surprised at the video quality this device produces. Working with cameras and video professionally, I didn’t think this could stand up to my critique. This morning I had my first low light test and the picture quality was great! Installation is a bit of a pain having to run the wire through my ceiling panel to the power adapter but it’s done. Otherwise the wire, which is quite long, will get in your way. I love that it has both the front and rear camera so I can see my problem dog in the backseat without turning my head around. I definitely would recommend this product for someone looking for a driving recording device.
Update:As you will see in my previous review there was a concern about the functionality of the g sensor. Finally one day after closing (slamming closed) my door and in another occasion hitting a bump on the highway having the g sensor set to high, i have got event files, meaning the g sensor works ok. Certain timesI am getting some glare depending from the time of day, and driving in a big city at night with a lot of lights you can get a lot of blinding reflection. The four stars given (5-1=4) is for the last interaction with the customer service. The camera itself is well made and the picture quality is very good.I would prefer a polarizer filter or a good uv filter in addition. While the customer service was helpful all along when I decided to test the g sensor i contacted the customer service and I got a lot of unnecessary questions from them, but I never got a positive answer. You have to contact the customer service only by email and receive an answer in about 24 hours. When I asked about the functionality of the g sensor I got about 4 different people contacting me asking me unrelated questions about it, which gave me the impression that they wanted me to quit asking. I still don’t know if the g sensor works. The picture quality also has a blue tint even with the latest firmware, in order to correct it is a different firmware file in their web site VTN2Pro8F.V21_IQ which corrected the tint. As I am writing this message I just realized that there is a new firmware available as of 5-10-19, VTN2Pro8F.V29, I didn’t Install it yet because I don’t know what it does. This firmware is about the vantrue N2 Pro Dual.Overall the camera is of good quality.
The camera is very easy to operate, and setup is quick. I tried it for 24 hours and already love it. Video quality is very good during the day or night. Love the product will buy it again.
I really like the resolution of both the front & back pictures. The night vision is pretty good for what it is - not bad, just not super great. Overall I would give it a 4.75 plus. Great dash cam.
I ordered this camera because of its dual camera feature. After using it on my personal daily car I'm quite impressed with the quality. It comes with all the necessary accessories. It doesn't come with SD card. I bought a Samsung 256gb SD card with it and it works flawlessly. The interior and exterior cameras are both high quality. The only thing that could be improved is the cord that comes with it. When I tried to connect it to the outlet it was a bit short, so I had to get a longer cord. Other than that it's worth the money.
I don’t like how I have to turn it back on every time I start my car. I do deliveries and turn car on and off all day long. Like fore it to start itself when car starts.
I purchased this item a few days back and just installed it into my car. The user interface is simple and easy to configure to your preference. The quality is great and there is no doubt this will serve me well. Today while I was driving south on I-5, I witness a car ram into another car trying to overtake it. With my new dash cam I was able to record everything. I believe everyone must get a dash cam and this one probably the best one I've ever used. The parking monitor function is awesome. Not only does it provide video evidence, but it also serves as a security system if anyone were to do anything to your vehicle while away.Update: I only had my Dashcam for a few days and it has been stolen. Although I said it is a security system in my last post, It doesn't do much if it itself is stolen.
There was nothing that i disliked about the camera, the suction cup mount could be a little better, but it worked well considering the high temps on the glass.
A must buy for Uber/Lyft drivers! Had to show proof to Uber that a passenger threw up in my vehicle. The passenger was fined and I received compensation to have my vehicle cleaned. Clear video and night vision.
hi my name is alexis and i have a lil problem with n2 pro i went to the store and spent 60 dollars on sd card 256 gb and my n2 pro camara dont want to work i dont know what to do if i want my money back or a replace please reply to this email
I’ve been very happy with this dash cam. Great image quality, no lost files, really surprising night vision quality. If I buy another I might look for one with WiFi.
This is my first dash cam, so I'm no expert...but I did do a lot of research before buying this particular unit, and for the most part I'm very happy with it. Suction is not a problem - I bought the extra cost GPS enabled suction cup, and I've had no issues whatsoever after about 2000 miles, including an 800 mile road trip. Set up is simple (I have very little patience or expertise with electronic gadgets), and image quality when transferred to my desktop computer is excellent. For me, the only real disappointment is that at night the reflected glare from my headlights makes it virtually impossible to read the license plate of the car in front of me. I was under the impression that the infrared feature would provide superior night performance - it doesn't! And I did check to make sure it was toggled on...
Good dash cam, no way to view videos on Iphone. When a card reader is connected to the phone with the card inserted, it says no videos/photos to import; 200 dollar dash cam!
The first one was used by my father. It only last for 2 weeks. So he throw away.I am using the other one starting last month after I purchased 2years ago because I am driving far everyday. so far so good.
I had bought a less expensive cam from another company thinking it would be enough, but the night vision was not good. As an Uber driver, I can tell you, if you're an Uber driver doing research for a dash cam, this is the one you want.
The fourth day I attempted to use this camera it completely froze and would not turn off or anything. Very disappointing. I liked the camera a great deal other than that. The picture quality was wonderful and I had no other problems however if it doesn't work at all then the positive attributes don't really matter.
Good camera(s) resolution. Plenty of features. Files easy to access and view. Owners manual adequate. Installation uncomplicated.Needs an optional battery pack offering to support extented use of parking feature.
I bought this after hearing from other rideshare drivers. This is great small cam with best night vision. Easy setup and great play back. don't hesitate or waste time with less expensive dashcams. I use this in the heat of Florida and so far no issues, plus small enough where it doesn't interfere with driving.
The dashcam provides very clear video and audio inside and outside the car. I use this for rideshare and wouldn't leave home without it. It's small enough to not interfere with my vision. After a few months, the power cord (cigarette lighter adapter) stopped working and I contacted Vantrue. They shipped out another one right away. I just had to show them my Amazon invoice. I highly recommend this dashcam and Vantrue!
I am a rideshare driver and depend on my dashcam for security. I just got this one, but it was relatively easy to install and the instructions are easy to understand. The function buttons are simple. So far I am very pleased. The only thing I found irritating is the serial number is on the bottom of the black camera in brown ink and is very hard to see and the instructions manuals are in small font, but legible except for the item numbers in the diagrams, they are small and in an orange background making them almost impossible to read. I just took a picture of the diagram then zoomed in to enlarge it and it worked fine. As for the suction cup, it has been up for less than a day, but so far seems very strong and durable.
Since the camera doesn’t come with a SD card, I purchased a 256Gb from Amazon vendor “phone nurse”. After three days of trying to figure out way the SD card won’t save the videos, I found out that it was a fake SD card. Returned it got my money back and purchased another SD card from another amazon vendor and got a real one this time and all is great. I suggested that vantrue would include a SD card with system to save trouble I had.
I have used this project for about one month. The picture quality, video quality, and sound quality are all good with the exception of the strong glare during sunny use. See response from the manufacture: “Thanks for contacting Vantrue Customer Support.Does the recordings with massive front window glare in happened in sunny weather? If yes, this cannot be adjusted.Best regards,EchoVantrue Customer Service Team‘I have the Vantrue N2 Pro. I have it installed and running on my front windshield. I am getting massive front window glare in my recordings. How can this be fixed? Thanks.’”
Great camera I like everything about it. The suction power to hold the camera down wasn’t as good st first because I didn’t know how to use it and then I figured it out two days later and it’s great haven’t ran into any problems yet!!
Works well and can be hidden realtively well in front of the mirror. I could not get a 256g card to work even with the latest software. I like how it will record over the oldest video so that you don’t have to dump the old files. I have the gps which shows location and speed. If you speed that could be to your detriment if in an accident.
Been using the Vantrue in different modes for a couple of months now and I am satisfied so far. I will probably be getting another one to replace the older Mobius cam in my other vehicle soon. Mobius is nice and small and gives decent video but the battery needs replaced within 1.5 years. Vantrue has no battery in the sense of being able to pull out of the vehicle to continue to record.
Awesome camera. Bought 4, one for each car in the family. Read all the 1,800 reviews or just a few, this is a great camera that does some pretty cool things. What I don’t like is that it does not come with a micro SD card. That’s like buying a new car without gas in the tank. A good cordless drill with no batteries. Vantrue how much would it cost you to add a 64-gig card, $5? Not smart and the reason for losing one star. Buy at least a 128 gig, the one they recommend. Another $20 on Amazon.
The camera functions great. The mounting hardware is terrible. It falls off the windshield regularly and the internal parts that allow you to aim it where you like failed after less than 6 months. If they came out with a better mount system, I'd buy a second one for my other car because the camera is great. Too bad the mount sucks.EDIT: They sent me a mirror mount and it rocks! So happy now, highly recommend this camera! Thank you!
Best Dash Cam on the market, weather you drive for a Rideshare platform or need something to ensure safety, this is the Dash Cam for you. It’s small, lightweight and easy to disconnect. I would recommend if you have multiple vehicles to get an additional power cord with a mount so you can easily disconnect and place in your other vehicle.
This camera is great, it captures both the back and front picture vividly. The audio is very clear and is easy to transfer the files onto your computer to save as a backup.Only negative is that when you run out of space on the memory card, it doesn’t alert you and it doesn’t overwrite previous videos. I didn’t check the memory card for about a month and ended up losing all those videos (I have a 128gb card.)Depending on how much you drive, the recording time will vary but I got about 3 weeks of recording.
First of all, a product in this price range should provide an app to format the sd card since Windows 10 can't do it. I'd spent an hour to search for a program that allows me to format sd card in FAT32 Anyway, after I did a few recordings and making sure they are in File folder in the cam, I then connected it to my pc so I can see how good is the resolution since you can't really see much with dash cam's small screen. Guess what? nothing in the DCIM folder. Yup, somehow the recording got erased. What good is this dash cam if I can't even view the recording on my pc? Don't waste your money with this product.
As the title say, it isn,t compatible with mobile device per manufacturer. In this state in age, that seems a little weird. Especially on a $200 dashcam. In addition to the dashcam, i had to spend another $40 for a “samsung pro endurance microsd card”(recommended by manufacturer) and another $40 for an iphone camera kit trying to get it to work. Spent hours and decided to message manufacturer and was informed that the item does not support mobile phone import.I never had issues importing file from other digital camera to my iphone. I probably wouldnt had made the purchase if I had known ahead of the time. You have been warn
I looked around for a while before I decided on this model it’s not cheap. I was so excited and I worked for about 30 days! The suction is terrible it never stays and the camera just stopped working it said SD card error please format card.So I bought 2 new cards didn’t work, emailed the company many times, they won’t help. I’m just really upset. DO NOT BUY THIS
This dashcam was easy set up. Almost plug and play (aside from formatting a memory card). Both day and night vision were good quality. I would recommend.
I have tried more 3 dash camera, this one outstanding the quality of the pictures in and out is very good, the only thing miss to make this the 1 one is if they add wireless futures to it so you can check on your phone
I’ve only had this for a couple of days, but I’ll be sure to come back and update this if anything changes. I love this cam! The quality is great, I love how I can see what the front and back cameras are seeing, but the screen isn’t so big that it’s distracting. Picture quality is great and night vision works really well. I love how it turns itself on and off when I turn the car on and off. It’s not bulky, so that’s nice too.So overall, I’m in love with this thing. No complaints here.
Captures clear audio and great resolution video. I capture video at 720p and it still looks fantastic. I use it for track events and even in tight turns and high speeds I've never had a shaky video.
Using this under rear view mirror in my restored 1970 Chevy C10 stepside truck. All functions work, day and night video quality really good to include forward and rear into cab and out back window into traffic. Sound recording excellent. Talk to camera to describe eventS as they happen like car description and license plate number. Playback is easy when installed or when connected to my iMac. I hardwired into ignition switch. I used camera side USB port to connect wire so that the camera suction mount is as high as possible and camera is just under mirror. Camera is really light and nice quality material. I got the GPS mount. The extra data on playback is really worth it when something important is recorded. Time, speed, location. I’ve been in aviation maintenance 40 years and am quite picky in quality. I’d recommend this.
The picture is clear and the cam is durable. The only issue is sometimes the suction loses it’s oomph when it gets hot. Other than that, it’s 5 star and worth every penny.
This camera is no good I wasted my money after using six month it has technical problem so the camera off automatically while it is plugged in it is on and off I tried to fix it I spent my whole day but still has issues despite I purchased another charger cables still same issue..
I barely had a chance to use, like, or dislike this cam. When the mounting flange cracked in extreme mountain cold, its premature demise has left me cam-less. (See photo). I've not yet tried to glue the flange back, or disassemble the cam to replace the flange. I'll try reaching out to the manufacturer.13May2019 update ; just days after posting my "cracked flange" photo, Vantrue contacted me with further inquiry - and have swapped the broken item for a new camera! Now *that* is customer service that I can get behind! I'm updating my review from 2-to-4 stars, while I give the camera another try. I hope to be back in another month to bump the review yet higher.
Easy to set up, easy to use and the video and sound quality is great so far. Colors are a little more purple than I hoped for, but very vivid and clear overall. The super clean night vision is where this product really shines. Removing it from the suction mount is fairly easy and the device feels very light weight in the hand but yet sturdy at the same time. Looks like it can withstand getting tossed around. They offer an 18 month full warranty which seems very nice just in case. Another cool thing is that you can choose to leave or remove each individual time stamp on the bottom of the screen. This will be a nice option to get a cleaner look if you want to shoot any type of creative video inside or outside your car in your free time. Being able to shoot 1080P front and back simultaneously and being able to see what is going on in my cabin at night is the main reason why I got this dash cam in the first place. Everything else beyond that is a bonus. Very good for the price.
I am not all that impressed with the software. It will not connect to google maps as it should. I like the camera but I wish it was easier to switch it from one camera to both. That dang screen is so small it is hard to see. Like the videos though
I bought this to keep in my car permanently. I currently have it set up to do 2.5K forward video only. I don't do Uber/Lyft driving and do not need to record myself with the rear facing camera. I did try it at the 1080p front and rear recording, but only to see if it would record what is behind me too. The cabin side camera can record what is directly behind you, and all throughout the inside of the vehicle, but I chose not to use this capability. I like the 2.5K forward resolution better. If I were an Uber/lyft driver I would definitely switch back to 1080p front and inside mode. This camera is very small and seems well built. It has both "always on", or "only on while the vehicle is running" options. I chose not to use the continuous on mode only due to the high temperatures that come in the summer. I don't want to cause the internal battery to leak from high heat while charging in the hot sun. I figure by using the "only on while running" mode, the battery will only charge while the car is running and should be cool due to a/c running also. So far no major problems with this unit and it has already caught an event that required me to email the video to the local police department for assisting with an investigation. Easy to install, got the hardwire kit and also the gps sucker cup replacement. Would recommend for anyone, especially if you are Uber/Lyft driver.
Good dash camera, good quality and user friendly but not totally perfect compared to other dash camera on the market and still lacks other features like wifi capabilities. How i wished they combined everything in one camera all those features to save you time shopping around, other than that it serves its own purpose at it should be.
The first thing is that you need to spend more money on a micro sd card, in the light of the day it looks great but at night it looks horrible it looks blurry and yellow, it does not overwrite the video card when it is full you have to format it manually If you don't do it when it's full, the camera turns off and finally in NEWEGG you can find it for 149 dollars
The camera frequently falls and the suction cup does not hold its weight. It was ok for 6 months but after that I am not using it because suction can't hold it anymore.
I'm very impressed with this product. The picture quality is clear on the videos from both day and night time use. I have no complaints. The menu is easy to navigate, and the settings are very straight forward. The included instructions are well put together and make using the product very easy. This is my first dash cam, and I have to say that it feels pretty good to buy something and have it work perfectly without going through the typical trial-and-error associated with trying something new.
I live in Seattle so I drive in dark rainy traffic all the time, the picture quality with this camera is great even in those conditions. I can easily read street signs when I play the video back even at night in the rain, this is a great product.
One of the best video cameras I have used. A word of advice though. Get the instructions from YouTube since the manual has small lettering that just don't make sence at all.
Product impression: It does not look cheap. It’s well built and the outside feels like rubberized. I left it in a car through very hot summer and still no issue.
Very good resolution: See the photos. Both interior and exterior resolutions are good. Interior of my car is black leather and the person is wearing dark blue jacket but the camera still shows a good image. I redacted the face but details are pretty good. Vehicle license plate numbers can be read on 1080P (outside)/1080P(inside). The menu also offers a higher resolution but then it does not offer dual camera views.
Easy setup: Good suction cup/holder is very steady and not shaky. Well built, plug and play as the factory setting is already good for most users. Menu and buttons are simple and easy to understand. Good user interface.
Excellent/responsive customer: Customer support by email is very responsive and genuinely interested in resolving a customer’s concerns and issues. It generally takes 1 or 2 days to response but they do get back to you. They also don’t hesitate to offer exchange a defective dash cam under warranty after trouble shootings.
Optional GPS: Quick fix GPS antenna and enables speed of a vehicle stamps on video files.
Suggestion: Use good quality micro SD cards made for frequent write/delete like SanDisk High Endurance Video Monitoring. Check once in a while to make sure the files are not corrupted. Reformat every 1 or 2 weeks. Keep one extra SD card as backup. Throw away and get a new one if SD cards keep corrupted or turns on/off the dash cam. Also, always use OEM cable and charger. Connect USB directly to the dash cam rather than through the holder or GPS antenna if you are having any power issue. Update firmware only if necessary so that you know if the dash cam experiences some issues you can spot the issue.
